  • Great, fast camera
Style: Body Only Set: Base
I upgraded to this camera from the Sony a6100 and I’ll tell you what, it’s quite the upgrade! I’ve been so happy with it. The images I’ve shared were taken with this camera and the 24-70mm f/2.8 lens.

  • An amazing camera
Style: Body Only Set: Base
This is definitely an amazing camera! It has durability and uniqueness to it. I love the little dial on the top of the camera or you can switch from photo to video! It makes it an easier process. Has all the things I need and one. I wish I did have 120 FPS for video but 60 FPS will do. Definitely a great camera if you are getting to photography and videography and starting your own business. ... show more

  • LIKE NEW
Style: Body Only Set: Base
I am happy with the purchase but was shocked to see it have almost a 1000 on the shutter count. If it had been over that I likely would have returned. So far the camera is doing well, picture quality is insane compared to the A7iii. Certainly the better of the two as it was meant to be. Will update again if something comes up. ... show more

  • Upgraded from a7RII and its an improvement in every way
Style: Body Only Set: Base
I used the a7RII for several years in my professional work (portraits, real estate, products), and upgraded to the a7IV because I wanted the fully articulated LCD touchscreen. While having the fully articulated touchscreen is great, the a7IV also improved upon every single aspect of the a7RII, with better autofocus, ergonomics, and menu system. ... show more

  • Upgraded from a A7
Style: Body Only Set: Base
After a decade or more with my gen 1 A7 I decided to upgrade to the A7IV. If you're coming from a A7II or A7 the upgrade is quite large. The autofocus speed is the biggest thing I noticed immediately. Even older lenses like my 55mm Zeiss is very fast on this camera. The other thing I noticed is how this camera body is about twice as thick as the original A7. If you liked how small the A7 was well... expect the A7IV to be more of the thickness of most other cameras. The thickness from what I understand is the sensor stabilization which by the way the original A7 didn't have. I used to use a monopod with the A7 because no stabilization meant handshake was a very real issue. With the A7IV I can get very sharp images in hand without worry. One other thing. This camera's ISO has some dual sensor business going on. It's both a good and bad thing. It's good because if you shoot at 100ISO or 400ISO your images will look almost identical on noise. The bad is if you shoot at 125, 160, 200, 250 or 320. Someone that doesn't know this may get less sharp images when you need to increase ISO over 100. Do yourself a favor and just shoot at 100 and 400 for most instances then over 400 as usual. I noticed reviewers complaining about the camera menu, but if your coming from another A7 you'll understand the menu quite easily. All other specs were about what I expected. The massive increase in AF points, better video recording, full HDMI slot, dual SD card slots, etc. Also no wall charger for battery... really Sony? Don't be Apple please. ... show more

  • Jack of all trades, master of none
Style: Body Only Set: Base
This is for me a high-end purchase, really stretching my budget. I chose this camera above all the other Sony models and above all other brands because it seems to me, after reading many reviews, that this camera is not “the best!” at anything but is very, very good at everything. I’m not trying to pay for the perfect camera or a professional’s camera. I’m trying to get one camera - one investment - to livestream, vlog, record video on vacation, take great pictures of people, nature and landscapes, and astrophotography. One can argue about how this camera or that camera would have been a better choice. This was my choice. Unless you have lots of money or this is your profession, you can only have one camera like this. After two intense weeks of reading and watching many camera reviews during the summer of 2022 the Sony a7iv is where I landed. I will not get into the specifics and technical details about this camera because I’m not the right guy to do it. I’m still learning but I am very, very satisfied with this camera. I also very much like the G Master lenses. They are pricey but they are also very, very good lenses. The G Master f/1.2 50mm prime? Wow! I have to give this camera five stars because it is a jack of all trades even if a master of none. Sony may have saved some of it’s master-class attributes for other more expensive models and that’s fine. For my purposes, a multitool camera is exactly what I wanted. ... show more

  • Amazing Camera
Style: Body Only Set: Base
After 15 years shooting exclusively with Nikon DSLRs I finally made the switch to mirrorless. Sony is leading the pack in Mirrorless and has been innovating and pushing the entire market while Nikon and Canon try to catch up. Excellent build quality, awesome face auto focus, and high megapixel sensor. Would highly recommend. ... show more
