The Sync module XR+ and outdoor 4 cameras with 6 cameras in use have worked very well for us on a rural area farm for 20 days, hope they continue to work and remain reliable. Initially purchased a 1 camera system to test it at a gate 300’ line of sight away from the XR+ module through moderately dense trees. Set it on XR mode with full module signal strength 25’ away from the router through a windowed brick wall, camera has 4 bar signal strength at 300’, high resolution and 2 way voice communication work at that distance. Mounted the module under the eves of a screened in porch 8’ high and the camera on an offset board mount to prevent the tree that the camera is mounted on from blocking the signal, also mounted at 8’ high. Bought 4 more outdoor cameras and another XR+ module for a spare as the price dropped and mounted another camera on the end of a 20’ high metal building that blocked the signal strength to 1 bar had a Pixley view. Mounted the camera on a 1.5”x1.5”x 3’ wooden pole at 7’ high on the side of the building for 250’ line of sight through moderately dense trees, 4 bar signal strength. Bought 3 more cameras for a total of 6 in operation on points of interest and 2 spares. Paired the AI subscription system to 3 cell phones. Our 7 year old Fire tablet would not pair with the Blink camera system, traded it in for $20 to get a new HD 10 and it paired nicely with very good resolution and color and can tether to a phone for viewing away from a home or business Wi-Fi connection. Two of our newer Fire TV sticks connected with the blink system fine. Four were too old to connect, traded in for 3$ each and upgraded to new 4K ones that connected, the Blink system crashed 1 time when pairing one of the Firesticks and had to cycle the power on the XR+ sync module to get the streams back. Parodically get a Blink code 0 when rapidly viewing Blink clips on the Fire tablet. Have to reboot the tablet and then ok. It is neat and cool to ask Alexa on the Fire tablet and on any of the fire stick TVs or cell phones for each camera stream or all 6 on the camera or still overview at home or away. Each camera has the temperature of the location that it is mounted it in the detailed display, close to what our thermometer read when placed next it. The AI identification feature needs to be improved as our 120 and 130 lb. chocolate Lab and black German shepherd dogs are sometimes identified as bears, coyotes, dogs, and cows and small animals. It does identify deer as deer, tractors as tractors and their colors, lawn mowers as ATVs and sometimes as lawnmowers and their colors, vehicles, and their colors and sometimes types and brands. It would be nice to be able to view blink remotely from work and other locations on windows based PCs and tablets by logging in to see the camera streams. Blink needs to put forth some R+D Amazon based money to improve software to enable any Windows based PC to be able to connect to the Blink servers to be able to view the camera streams. I installed Bluestacks Android emulator several times on my Win PC several times, it was not compatible and I could not get it to work. Anyone had any work arounds that worked for them to allow them to view Blink on Win PCs and PC based OS laptops?

1-Star Review: Absolute Garbage - Blink Outdoor 4 with XR+ Extender is Useless Do NOT buy these. I’ve had the Blink Outdoor 4 cameras with the XR+ extender hooked up for exactly 3 days and I’ve already had to unplug the whole connection two days in a row because they keep going offline. What kind of security camera system is this? These are supposed to make you feel safe in your own home, right? They do the exact opposite. One minute they’re “connected,” the next they’re completely dead and not recording anything. No alerts, no footage, nothing. I might as well hang up a fake plastic camera for all the good these do. Setup was a pain, the app is laggy and confusing, and the “extended range” XR+ extender is apparently useless because the signal drops anyway. For what these cost, I expected something reliable that actually works. Instead I’m babysitting a bunch of worthless electronics that can’t stay online for 24 hours. Blink should be embarrassed selling this. Save your money and look for something else. These cameras provide zero peace of mind and maximum frustration. Complete waste of time and money.

I have the XR at my other homes and really like those but so far I feel like the XR Plus is faster when checking cameras and definitely can place cameras farther away. I place an Outdoor 4 roughly 550 to 600 feet away and it easily hooks up and gives a great picture!

Blink Outdoor XR+ is the module I've been waiting for since the inception of Blink! This module is light years ahead of the Blink XR module! I have property in a National Forest that actually has electricity and fiber optic internet/WiFi. I started out with a Blink Sync 2 module which was very limited distance wise from the module to the cameras. Next, Blink released the XR module capable of distances up to 400 feet from a module to a camera. My property is full of oak and hickory nut trees which means about 6 months out of the year, with all the foliage on the trees, 2 of my Blink Outdoor 4 cameras that are 330 feet from the XR Module remain in an offline state. This is due to the tree foliage blocking a direct line of sight from the cameras to the XR Module. Blink has now released the Outdoor XR+ Module, stating it is capable of distances up to 1700 feet typical use and 2700 feet open air! I was very skeptical of the distance claim but decided to go ahead and try it out and am so glad I did! I now have full connectivity with my 2 furthest Outdoor 4 Cameras at 330 feet in each direction from the XR+ module while all the hardwood trees are in full foliage! I will be going back up to the property soon to place Outdoor 4 cameras in a spot to test the 1700 foot range and will update this review once this test is completed. I have used Blink security cameras for about 4 years. I have owned the Sync 2 Module, the Core Module, the Blink XR Module and now the Blink XR+ Module. I have two locations, home and a remote property, running 27 cameras and 1 doorbell currently. The new Blink Outdoor XR+ Module has a much higher connectivity range while delivering the same high-quality recording performance and video quality! This module also greatly extends the two-way audio distance, while also having battery life up to 2 years when used in conjunction with an Outdoor 4 camera and Energizer Lithium AA batteries. Blink ran a package deal for the Outdoor XR+ Module, an Outdoor 4 camera and a Blink 2K doorbell for the same price as a single Blink Outdoor 4 Camera in August and this was the deciding factor in trying out the Outdoor XR+ Module. This module provides a much higher range and quality of security. This package deal for the price of 1 Outdoor 4 Camera - I challenge you to find a better deal anywhere else!

Very easy to set up it shows two different choices, WiFi or extended range and I chose WiFi and it did not let me down. I had the regular XR. It had to be on extended range to get where I wanted it to down the road, this XR+ goes way farther. I’m using the system 4 cameras . I put the extender in my garage on because it’s an outside wall. It’s out of the weather so I don’t have it to have a special connector at the present time. I have two different units running the XR+ I’d probably recommend it.”

First of all, I have had no prior experience with any other remote camera system. This is a fairly long review but I believe that it is information that will be useful to those considering the Blink system and therefore worth my time in writing it and your time in reading my experience. I have been very pleased with the Blink Android version of the AP. I would be giving five stars based upon my satisfaction with the XR+ performance but it was a frustrating experience which thankfully turned out positively. I have been using the Blink Outdoor 4 with 3 cameras and the Sync Module 2 satisfactorily for almost two years but decided that I could use a little more range of coverage so I ordered a Sync Module XR and a fourth camera. The set up procedure would always hang up whenever the sync module tried to connect to my Wi-Fi router. Numerous attempts following the online Help info. failed. When I called the Blink Help line, all they could do was guide me through the same setup procedure which still failed every time. They finally declared the XR sync module to be defective and to return it. When I attempted to reinstall my original Sync Module 2, it also failed to install after multiple attempts. Rather than reorder another XR sync module, I stepped it up and ordered an even more powerful XR+ sync module but it wouldn't connect to my router either. I had a considerable amount of money invested in a system which apparently wouldn't work so I dived more deeply into the online help info to see whether I had missed something but still no success. So I called the Blink Help number again and again explained the problem. After going in circles trying the standard installation process which I had done many times by that point, the line went dead. Could have been an accident but the help person didn't call back. Despair! After giving it about a week, I called the Help Line again. Louie, the person that I reached took me calmly and patiently through the same process that I knew by heart by then and still didn't work. He then tried some new procedures that no one else had tried and when something didn't help, he would try another avenue. Again, calmly and patiently even though he was spending a lot of time trying to solve the problem. Eventually, he asked whether I had a VPN on my phone. When I remembered that I may have accepted a free trial of one sometime in the past, he suggested that I uninstall it. With no VPN , the installation process went smoothly and successfully. Whew! Louie is my hero. Thank you Louie.

Total junk, I had the ring system before this and had minor issues with missed video or it cutting out midway through video so I decided to try the chime cameras and xl extended module because they where on sale and I could also store video offline onto micro card. Well, turns out there's a reason they are on sale and giving away free doorbells with some orders. The whole line of chaim, cameras and modules is junk.Compared to ring. Ended up sending them all back. The camera view and pictures are incredible, but also should be at this point, anything else is crap.. the videos only recorded 60 secs regardless of motion, the extended range is actually worse then the regular module, there is no automatic refresher in the main page that shows a preview of all your set up camera, it just shows one single Pic until you literally refresh it and half the time that doesn't work. Really wanted this to work at the price I got it for, but at this point I wouldn't even use it if it was free.

XR + sync module consistently looses connection to my cameras. I appreciate the longer distance but as is it is worthless and junk. To get any usefulness out of this junk, I have to very often recycle the power to get cameras to reconnect, but that requires me to be physically present. This was unacceptable so I purchased an auto power cycler and set it to turn the power off for 1 minute every hour. This gives me more time connected to the camera, but it is a bad hack I used to try to salvage this junk module. I have no issues with my XR and regular sync modules. The XR + module is a big failure for Amazon.
