This is just a perfect basic DVD player for someone on a budget! My family's old Sony finally needed to be replaced and, since it had been so reliable for years, I knew that I wanted to get another Sony. This one was in "Like New" condition and it's even better than that. I like that it's compact, sleek, smooth functioning and incredibly simple for even me, Grandma, to set up in no more than 5 minutes. The remote that comes with it works for the TV as well. I'm absolutely thrilled with it! I will say, however, that if you need RCA cords longer than 2' you should order those separately, as I did. Otherwise, this DVD player is ready to give you many great movie nights. Highly recommend!

I opted to get the used like new and it works perfectly. It actually did look brand new. I couldn't tell it had been used at all other the the box you could tell had been previously opened. This was a decent price and I'm glad I made the purchase. Hope it lasts a awhile. Will update my review if any issues should arise.

This is a great little DVD player for the money. I had to buy a new one after 20 years with my old one, so that I could play DVD's from the library. The quality is excellent and it was super easy to install. I would highly recommend this for anyone who still plays DVDs.

After my last DVD player died in a world where planned obsolescence seems to be the rule, it was time to buy a new one. I have always had good luck with Sony products in the past, so this seemed to be a no-brainer, right? After all, the TV is Sony - actually, everything I have electronic is Sony with the exception of my CD player - and it just seemed natural a new DVD player would have to be a Sony. I read all the reviews on this plus several other Sony products, but knowing that the planned obsolescence rule is always in effect (it's old the day after you get it and if you're lucky it will last a year or two before it dies, and since it's cheaper to buy a new one than get an old unit replaced, a cheap one seemed to be the best way to go)and I really wasn't expecting anything great. I didn't get it! I can usually set up anything in about 5 minutes - give or take a couple. Why did it take me 48 minutes to get this one set up? Because the instructions - such as they were - weren't written, all you get is a bunch of cute little pictures which made little or no sense. After swapping around input jacks all over the place (I actually had to take the ones from the old DVD player and use them since the wires on this were too short)I finally - maybe I should say FINALLY!!!! - got it hooked up to where it plays. Initially, the picture quality seems alright as does the audio - it will be interesting to see what happens when I actually sit down to watch a movie, so I can't complain about that. At this point, all I really have to complain about is the fact it took forever to hook it up and the fact the on-screen menu doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Good luck with that if you buy one of these. Why do I give it a 3 star rating? I have an idea if I sneeze loudly in the same room, the vibration will knock it off onto the floor - yeah, it's that lightweight. Very cheaply made and not exactly what a person who has used Sony products over the years has come to expect from a company that was an industry leader. For now, it will serve the purpose for which it was purchased - notably, showing DVDs, but I'm really not expecting it to last a long time and when this one bites the dust as it most assuredly will in a year or so (it's predecessor lasted 11 years), its replacement will be one which is larger and where the instructions are easy to follow so it can be set up in 5 minutes! Overall, this isn't Sony's finest moment - if you're looking for something functional that doesn't have a lot of gadgets and displays and will show movies once the tray opens and you can insert a disc (takes forever and it is noisy!)this will probably serve the purpose. If you're into different angles and being able to do all sorts of fun things - get one that's more expensive - I wish I had. Actually when this one dies, I'm getting a Blue Ray player which is probably what I should have gotten this time. And, it may not be a Sony.

Compact, Reliable DVD Player with Easy Setup This Sony DVPSR210P DVD player turned out to be exactly what I needed: a no-frills, dependable unit that just works. It’s compact enough to tuck into a small entertainment setup or even a bedroom TV, and the lightweight design makes it easy to move if needed. Setup took only a couple of minutes—plug in the power, connect the included AV cable, and it was ready to go. Playback has been smooth and consistent across a mix of older discs and some newer DVDs I tried. The picture quality is solid for standard definition, and the player handles fast-forwarding, rewinding, and skipping chapters without any lag or hiccups. I also like the responsive remote, which has all the essential buttons without being overloaded. A couple of things to note: this is strictly a DVD player—no Blu-ray capability, no HDMI output, and no streaming features. It connects with the classic red/white/yellow composite cables, so it’s best matched with older TVs or setups that still have those inputs. If you’re looking for something to use with a modern flat-screen that only has HDMI ports, you’ll need an adapter.
