My wife bought the mini fire pit for me for Christmas last year. I thought it would be worthless, but I was dead wrong! It was the best gift I ever had! Thank to my sweet lady for this wonderful gift. I lives in the city where there is no fireplace allowed and a big heavy fine. So, this is perfect. It's sat on my picnic table, easy fired it up, and watch the flame soar high and dance away in the air. Wow! No smoke at all! And I even can feel the warmth came from it. Beautiful! We had a Fourth of July back yard party and my oldest son know I have one so he grabbed it and set it up. My whole family love it, they keep added more woods to it and still enjoyed it for hours! I never thought my whole family hooked to the mini fire pit that quick! Two months ago, I bought Mesa XL so I can give my first mesa to my grandson for his apartment with smallest back yard. He and his girlfriend loved it! She said it was the best fire pit she ever enjoyed it every time my grandson lit it up. He said it fit perfectly in his back yard and always bring it in once it was completely cooled. They don't want any of his next door neighbors take it and use it. Even their landlord loved it too! They are very protective about their mini fire pit. I thought it was odd but hey! We all love Mesa and Mesa XL! One time last spring, I took it with me to my brother country home and set it up on the low end table. Once I got it going, my brother freaked out! He said it like a blow torch in there. For such a small tabletop unit, I was amazed at how long it burns and how much heat it puts out. We bought this for the back porch for cooler evenings. It's great for 2-3 people to gather around. It really was essentially smokeless. Clean-up was so easy the next morning. Very minimal ash left over. We used food-grade hardwood pellets. I got my green solo stove today. Loaded it up with pellets just as it said on the instructions. Initial burn time was about 20 min. Then it was about every 5 min to tind to it, requiring more fuel. I love how simple it is and watching it burn. It has an interesting way of keeping smoke below the flames. Down side it the amout of fire maintenance required. This thing will burn through some pellets. But it's fun to pass the time and enjoy the outdoors! ... show more

Not too big. Not too small. Gave this as a gift to my wife and she loves it. Great for creating ambiance at cocktail hour, but don’t expect a lot of warmth. We use it with wood pellets and it works great.

The media could not be loaded. We used good quality pellets for the first time. One minute the flame was excellent and there was zero smoke. The next, the fire was out and there were huge plumes of smoke that were making my husband, our 1 year old, and I cough a lot. We did everything right too (my husband is a former Marine and an engineer-he does everything by the book) so it was shocking when this happened abruptly. I’ll update this after a third burn (another one with pellets and one with wood). The one really good thing is that it doesn’t get hot on the bottom and our table remained cool to the touch.
