I was skeptical about being smokeless. However if the wood is loaded correctly and not overloaded, there is no smoke which works great with allergies. It was easy to put together, the grandkids loved to make. s’mores, roast hot dogs, perfect size for us, cleaned easily and stylish.

Really fantastic firepit, very happy with it overall! It will still give off some smoke (not sure why some people were expecting *zero* smoke, you are still burning wood after all) but compared to a standard firepit or a camp fire, this gives off much less smoke, with windless/low wind conditions allowing for a 90% smoke reduction. No need to shower after using it! One item I will highly recommend is that people spring for the heat deflector. The solo stove burns the wood so efficiently, all the heat literally shoots straight up, with a lot less heat going to the people around the campfire as a result. The heat deflector forces the heat to radiate onto the people sitting around it, keeping everyone much warmer as a result. You can get by with a much smaller fire this way, and as a result burn a lot less wood. The fire pit (and the heat deflector) are a bit on the pricey side, so here is to hoping that the added cost is going into solid construction that will last a long time. I plan on using it all 4 seasons, for as long as it stays in one piece.

Me and my husband love this fire pit because we never smell like smoke after a night of using it. However, the smokeless trick is to get some starter wood and get the bottom of the fire pit nice and hot before adding larger wood to it. It is so easy to assemble and put away after each time we use it. Make sure to store it where it won’t get wet or it can ruin the stainless steel! The only small thing is the heat does not deflect very well without the heat deflector. You have to be very close to it to feel the heat without the deflector.

I like this very much but its size is awkwardly small. Most of my firewood is cut for a fireplace and is too long to fit in this pit. I need to cut my logs down to fit. Besides that, the heat output, no smoke and easy cleanup is very nice. Side note, this is great for burning all those dead branches that fall in your yard.

This is pretty large. Solid built and works. The stainless steel metal is strong and thick. It came with the Solo vinyl cover and extra base to lift it off of the ground. I bought the Solo heat deflector which is a must to keep the feet warm. It really works! Also purchased the mat to lay on the ground to help with wood ambers. This stove really burns the word hot and efficiently. It's great!
