Update 4-3-2019 - Customer Care at Soliom has been a pleasure to work with to deal with my original issues below. While not all of them have been eliminated with the updated model of the camera, the camera does perform better. Especially with a WiFi extender on the inside wall of the house. The camera is mounted about 30 feet from the house and now has a strong 3-4 bar WiFi signal at the camera. The company is actively improving the product. Original Review - I've been searching high and low for a reliable outdoor wireless camera and this one seemed to fit the need. The reviews were good so I jumped. Unfortunately, the performance of the camera is lacking. Cons 1. The positioning of the camera needs to be oriented for charging and that limits where you can point the camera. 2. There is a limited distance from the network where it can be placed. 3. The cloud storage is an issue. Saved videos are only 8 seconds long and always miss the source of the movement. 4. When recording is switched to SD card it starts far too overexposed and then does not capture the start of the event that triggered the recording. For example, a truck pulled into the driveway up to the camera, delivered a package, and the camera only recorded the truck backing out of the end of the driveway. 5. The field of view is so wide that to get the detail of anything more than 30 feet or so from the camera is not possible. 6. Had issues getting the SD card formatted correctly. Must format to FAT32. My personal opinion is this category of cameras is a great idea but the technology has not caught up to the true need and use. ... show more

I bought 3, 2 from their official and one off amazon,and first one was installed outside the back porch and the other two were sit at right and left side of my yard.the first cam was installed on Feb 7, where has no direct sun,the battery still have 80% or so till Feb 18 ,of cause I did fully charged it before I installed it there.I remember the date to figure out how long I need to charge it.lol...The battery truely keeps long at the shady area.The other two cameras were working good with direct sunshine per day,the battery sign still shows full till now. The only complaint is the motion trigger function,I didn't turn it on from the app,after contacting Soliom,I realized that this function has to be turn on,yeah,finally it works,it's great for me! ... show more

The Soliom S60 Solar camera is a perfect outdoor security camera. It is powered by the sun, which is very good for me. I am not a fully trained electrician, so I am not good at playing with electrical wires, however, this camera is free of cords and wires.This is one of the reason why I choose it. Powered this camera entirely on solar is such a huge benefit. Running entirely on solar, this camera will keep on recording even if your power is cut off. Some of the features that set the Soliom S60 Solar camera apart from its competitors are: 1. Solar Power 2.1080P Full HD Resolution 3.Real-time motion activated alerts 4. IP66 Weather Proof 5. IR Night Vision There are something needs to improve: 1 hope the SD card is included. 2 the cloud storage can save 20 files for free, could the camera save more videos in could storage for free? DO NOT BUY SOLIOM PRODUCTS! The Soliom S60 solar security cameras are a great concept and could have the potential of being great cameras. When I first set up cameras exactly according to the user instruction booklet inside my home before mounting outside, they appeared to work fine. Great activation, alerts, and they recorded to the SD cards just fine. The problem began when I mounted both cameras outside. Within about 4-5 days I noticed I was getting no activation alerts and no motion in my front and backyard was not being recorded. I tried a complete reset of both cameras at least 7-8 times. The only part that worked was the LIVE Mode. This is just so you can take a quick look at at what cameras are seeing live. This is not the same as detecting motion and recording the motion. Why have a security camera if it can’t record a possible intrusion on your property or home. I contacted Soliom via their email. This went on over and over again. Each time the person replying to me was named Jassie. He told me they were having issues with the software and hardware. He also said they had some issues with waterproofing of cameras. This means he was saying moisture from weather was entering the cameras. He kept saying in each reply back that he was going to send me 2 new cameras. Jassie would always also say for me to try this or try that. Clearly Soliom was not going to back the full 1 year warranty they say that they offer. It’s pretty darn simple folks. When the company tells you they are having, software, hardware, and weather proofing issues they know cameras are going to fail. That is simply admitting your knowingly selling a defective item. As are many items on Amazon, these are made in China. Do these solar cameras have great potential, yes they do. Will Soliom back their products if you have defective cameras. Absolutely not.
