Style: Sole E25 Elliptical
This is a great machine! I had a budget of $2,000 for a new elliptical and then found this for only 1/3 of my budget but seemed to meet all my needs. 1st- delivery was wonderful. The guys even brought it down my snow covered driveway into my entryway. Any complaints on delivery is solely due to the third party delivery company. The box had damage, but I trusted the large sticker on the side of the box that said don’t be worried about box damage, everything is packaged well. And it was. No damage to any part of the machine. 2nd- Assembly. I knew by reading all the reviews that it might not be easy to assemble it. It actually wasn’t that hard. The instructions aren’t great, but all tools needed are supplied and they separate the nuts, bolts, and screws by steps so that makes it easier. There are some tighter areas you have to work in but nothing too difficult. I’m a DIY girl, but never use bolts and wrenches but this wasn’t hard. Attaching the screen wires was a little difficult due to the zip ties holding the other side, but I snipped that and wrapped a washer around the end on that side of the wire. It prevented the wire from being pulled through, and gave me the extra length to attached the screen. As for the instructions, there are pictures of every item (that is separated by step as mentioned) and then are numbered how they are assembled. It’s mainly the order of washers, nuts and bolts. Nothing too hard to figure out. Not step by step big pictures with words, but NOT HARD. 3- I left the plastic cover parts off my machine at first to be able to make sure I don’t need to tighten any connections or use the PROVIDED “LUBE” to help stop or prevent any noises. Of course a machine like this will settle in place and need some adjusting after it’s been used a couple times. If something is loose, I’ll tighten it. If it squeaks, I’ll fix it but it is to be expected on a machine like this. Door hinges need “lube” sometimes to not squeak and screws need to be tightened. 4-Use. It works great. Smooth, the stride length of 20” is great for me. I love the power incline and resistance buttons on the screen and handles. It’s a great workout with any of the programs. 5- No app subscription required. This was probably my main reason for going with this elliptical. I researched numerous options and was completely annoyed with the machines that require a $30-40 a month subscription to use the machine. After spending $$$$ on a machine, those companies then get you for $300-500 a year for the app. No thanks. The Sole doesn’t require anything-not even WiFi, and has programmed workouts that are great. It reminds me of a typical gym elliptical that you just get on and work out. 6- I will say the screen is a little old looking. My 7 year old daughter said it looks like my grandmas old tv😂. It is nothing special and definitely not up to par with any technology these days looks wise, BUT I DONT CARE. I’m actually here for it. I want simple and no fuss. I have a tv in the room so I can watch that if I want, it holds an iPad or phone so I don’t need a high tech screen. Most importantly, the machine works great with grandmas technology. 7- HANDS DOWN, best decision to go with this machine. I chose the E25 over E35 because it’s 11” shorter. I think any of the 2020 models would be more than sufficient for any home gym. And are a killer price compared to other machines. No wonder these machines were rated Top elliptical under $1200…. And they are way less than that now. GREAT BUY, GREAT MACHINE.

Ordered from Amazon as opposed to Sole as Amazon had a longer return window. Nothing to do with warranty, just their policy on initial delivery. Shipping company was great, they called a day before delivery, then a half hour beforehand. The box was in almost perfect condition. Getting it off the shipping crate caused some cardboard damage, but the machine and foam packing was unharmed. Very thick, double layered cardboard at the bottom. The driver did not want to help me get it in the house, and brought it as far as the step to the patio. It was just one half a step. That's okay, I did not want his help anyway, but if you do, make sure you tell the driver. I would expect he or she (not they or them because there was only 1) would get it past the threshold for you if you told him or her. I didn't read the instructions other than to make sure I was getting the washers in the right place. I feel like more washers should be used, and certainly better quality washers would be nice; they were a bit soft and deformed during assembly. One of the spring washers did not bend back to its natural spring state one tightened, so what's the point? None of this affects operation - unless you don't use the nylon locking nuts provided and nuts fall off during use. There was one factory issue I found during installation, would may attribute to others' problems that have been reported. At the end of the rail that the tread is attached to, is a joint that is factory tightened. This is the joint that attaches to the wheel. Because it was tightened while off the wheel, it was not aligned correctly. I found that by loosening it with the allen key and one of the wrenches, then attaching it to the wheel, I had not problems. Prior to loosening it, I could not attach it to the wheel. Could be a huge problem if you force it together. Got it assembled and initially it was quiet as a mouse then started squeaking loud. Since I did not read the instructions, I'm sure I missed the part about lubricating key areas. So 30 minutes of disassembly later I had it lubricated and it's good to go. Overall it is a quality machine as expected from Sole (had 2 of their treadmills before). I would like to see more tension on the wheel, but cranking up the tension to 20, and incline to 11, after 20 minutes there's a lot of sweat. I'm 6' 220lbs, my wife is 5'4" 140lbs and neither of us have issues with height or weight related stability or use.
