I absolutely love this light I have a small shed with no electric and it needed light inside instead of flashlights and this light is amazing right out of the box it works and it is staying charged and on cloudy stormy days it's nice being able to be in the shed and have a nice bright light. I love that the cords for the light and for the solar panel is long enough that I can adjust placement so that all parts of the shed are illuminated. It's great and everyone who has seen it now wants one too! I'm definitely investing in another light for a different shed. This is really versatile it can be used inside like in my shed or it can be used for camping there's so many possibilities with this solar light but the best use so other than my shed is using it in my gazebo, now we can sit outside and enjoy the summer while playing cards or boardgames with our company! I've only had it set up for a few days, but so far I'm impressed! the good: battery life at full brightness brightness level cord connection is secure and easy on/off switch for light on demand the (not too) bad: instructions are lacking in setup information mounting hardware included isn't useful for all situations I got this last week and it came 75% charged and was powerful enough to give me several hours of very usable light right out of the box. I didn't notice any dimming from its full brightness by the time I called it quits for the night. I could read by the light if I wanted to, but I have it set up to illuminate my 10x20' greenhouse when I'm working in there after dark. The light does extend to the far corners from the center (or near center- the cord doesn't QUITE reach the middle from where I have the switch placed on the wall) but you do also get in the way of the light casting shadows, of course. The fact that it is bright enough to have a strong shadow, though, is impressive! The switch is easy to use, and the main reason I chose this model. I have the control box anchored with a piece of bailing wire about 7' up to keep it out of the weather and the pull cord is comfortably at shoulder height. The indicator lights are visible from the ground, so as long as you know what color setting you want you can adjust easily without needing to read the description on the control box The indicators are also in order, with 3 different colored lights for the 3 auto settings (which I do not care about) above the battery level indicator. During setup I pulled it 4 times to off because I only want light when I'm in there. It took a bit for me to realize that the "all lights off" referenced in the basic "off" mode does NOT include the battery indicator lights (green like one of the settings it has) so if you're playing with it during the day/in bright lighting be aware that those lights are on all the time, even if it's off. When turning it on in the dark, I found it doesn't give me the same options as it does during the day, but that's fine. I really just wanted an on/off switch, which is what it does. The instructions were... lacking. The instructions are entirely focused on settings/use and not at all helpful for setup. Honestly if I wasn't confused by some of the included mounting hardware (thinking I was missing something) I would have been just fine. I got 3 pairs of mounting hardware and no explanation of what goes where. One set, the bolt and wingnut, pretty obviously goes to the solar panel mounting bracket so you can swivel it. Not a ton of adjustability here, but since I haven't seen my battery indicator drop below 3/4 even after hours of use day 1, I'm not super worried about getting it angled perfectly. The second pair, screws and drywall anchors, might go to the control box or to mount the bracket... but there isn't enough for both. Not a big deal, I have screws. The issue is it made me feel like I was supposed to use the remaining set for one of these things. The third pair are apparently masonry anchors to use if you're working with brick or concrete... why there is one set of those and one set of normal screws was a mystery to me! Had there been 2 sets of each I would have immediately clocked it as options, but the fact that 4 anchors are needed and I got 2 different pairs caused me more than a little confusion. That mystery solved, the setup was easy. I appreciate that the lamp itself has a hook, making it easy to hang from a chain or whatever. The cords on either end of the control box also connect with nice little waterproof connectors that you plug in then screw to tighten so they're very secure and you don't have to wrestle the whole tangle at once, nor feed bulky bits through small openings to get the panel outside and the light and switch box inside. I will update this review if/when it breaks, but if it holds out for even a year or two I absolutely think it's worth the money I spent. I'm kind of mad I didn't get one earlier, actually. I might buy more for my camping/glamping setup because I'm seriously impressed so far! ... show more

Light works great, bright as intended. We installed the light in the outhouse at our cabin and is a perfect fit. The solar panel is light weight and was easy to mount. The wiring is a very thin material and feels like it not made for extended outdoor installation. I feel the wires will not last being exposed to the extreme weather conditions ... show more

This light is exactly as described and what we needed. Our paddocks for feeding horses have no electric. We've mounted motion sensor lights but they just dont work for what we needed. I live this pendant light. I love the "old school" string pull. One pull gives you great light. Nice and spread out where needed. Two quick pulls gives you Xtra bright light and 3 pulls will put it into a gradual turn off at daylight. So easy to install. I used hay bale string, but all necessary mounting hardware is included. The solar panel is nice and large. The storage bank came already charged. This is a portable light as well. I bought 2. One for horses and one for my husband's utility trailer.
