This coop door showed up at exactly the right time. Our old automatic door finally died after about 4 years, so we were already in the market for a replacement when we found this one. Installation was pretty straightforward and didn’t take long. Once it was mounted and powered up, it started working right away. The solar panel is a big plus since it saves having to run power out to the coop, and so far it’s been keeping the battery charged without any issues. The display is actually really helpful. Being able to see the settings and battery level at a glance makes things feel a lot more controlled compared to older styles that don’t give you much feedback. The remote is also a nice feature, especially when you want to test the door or adjust settings without standing right next to the coop. The door itself feels sturdy. The aluminum construction gives it a solid feel, and it opens and closes smoothly without sounding strained. The anti-pinch feature is something I really like having, especially when you have birds that don’t always move out of the way quickly. After having one door last about four years, we were ready for a replacement anyway, and this one came along at just the right time. So far, it’s been working well and feels like a solid upgrade from the one we were using before.

I ordered this chicken door for my chicken house so that I would not have to remember to go and open the door to let everybody out. It is well built and sturdy and has a solar panel that keeps the onboard battery at or near full all the time. It has many features that you would only find on doors far more expensive than this one. It has 2 manual modes and 4 automatic programmable modes. It also comes with a remote control that works up to 300 ft which is very nice since I don't have to leave the house to override the automatic control. The chickens don't have to wait on me, and I have peace of mind that it is closed soon after dark. It is dependable and built well. In my opinion it is a very nice setup for the price.
