I love the fact that this door was very easy to install. If you are using an electric screwdriver, be sure to have a long screwdriver head because the hole in the door is fairly deep, 1" to 1.5" maybe. I love the fact that you don't have to spend a lot of time learning to set the timer, etc. It is really quiet and the size is perfect even for my larger chickens. It does say to disable it if you have chicks. I guess it could crush a chick. No big deal, just set it on manual mode until the chicks are bigger. Totally worth the purchase, I highly recommend.

Got this solar-powered automatic chicken coop door because my old one finally gave out, and I needed a reliable replacement. Right out of the box, it felt solid—heavier than I expected, in a good way. The housing seems well-sealed, and nothing felt flimsy or cheaply made. I appreciated that the solar panel came already wired up, and the instructions were straightforward enough to get everything installed without too much head-scratching. Setting it up was mostly smooth. The mounting holes lined up well, and once it was in place, I tested all the modes. The light sensor mode has been working reliably so far, opening up early enough for the chickens and closing at dusk without me needing to intervene. I also tried out the timer and manual modes just to see how they worked, and they responded as expected. The button controls are basic but intuitive once you go through them a couple of times. One thing that stood out was the dual motor design. I didn’t think much of it at first, but it seems to run more smoothly than my previous single-motor door. The anti-pinch feature is a nice touch too—tried lightly blocking the door with a small stick, and it stopped and reversed like it’s supposed to. That gives me peace of mind, especially with younger birds that sometimes linger near the entrance. Size-wise, it’s a good fit for a standard coop opening. The door slides cleanly and doesn’t snag, and the materials feel sturdy enough to hold up through different weather. We’ve had a few rainy days since installing it, and it hasn’t missed a beat. Overall, this door has been a solid replacement. It’s doing what I need it to without daily check-ins, and that’s really all I was looking for.

My wife and I are both new to chickens, after we recently discovered that our city will permit chickens within City limits. I think the limit is five, but is the City really going to be checking on that??? Roosters are prohibited, but yeah, they might get complaints about that. Our property backs up to the city limits and we have a large wooded area behind our house, which, unfortunately, is home to raccoons. This Cozy Chicken door Is THE perfect protection. I installed it, but even MY wife could have installed it ... so easy. And it works great, hot or cold, rain or shine. We tend to sleep in so we chose the dawn/dusk mode. You can set exact times or you can activate manually. So, I think that's every choice you could have concerning the opening/closing of the doors, right? AND, it's got a strong battery which recharges every day with a little sun. This product is well-built; it's not going to break, and because of the gearing on the doors, even the smart raccoons can't open it, either. As I said, it's the perfect protection for the ladies. You can continue to look forward to fresh eggs every morning!!!

This is my third chicken door from Chickcozy and all are still working great. I like how easy they are to install and they seem to be safe for the animals and work great even down to some extreme temperatures. With this being solar powered it should work even better than the previous ones I have that are only battery powered. I prefer the two door horizonal opening ones to the vertical ones because they need less space to operate. Some of my coop designs don't have a lot of vertical clear space. The timer function is easy to set, but you have to remember to change the open close times manually. There is also a light level function which is a bit more difficult to get set correctly, but it does automatically adjust with the seasons.

I was immediately extremely impressed with the Chickcozy Solar Powered Automatic Chicken Coop Door the moment I opened the box. The build on this solar powered door you see and feel immediately is extremely high quality and durable. It is incredibly easy to use. The directions are very detailed and very clearly written so you have all the information you need. I have a few solar powered chicken coop doors and the Chickcozy Solar Coop Door is by far superior quality to the extent there is really no comparison. If you are considering whether to get this or a chicken door that might be more economical, I would personally choose the Chickcozy Solar Chicken Coop Door without any hesitation if you are looking for a solar chicken coop door you can depend on for high quality. I am extremely happy with the Chickcozy Solar Chicken Coop Door and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Right out of the box you can tell that this coop door is good quality. The materials feel heavy and solid. The door itself was very easy to install, and so far (3 weeks) has worked seamlessly. It's been our first automatic door so I can't compare to experience with competitors but we have been impressed with the seamless day to day transition. This is a good option if you have an established flock. If you are introducing a new flock to the door and they are still training/learning to go in the coop at dusk it is a bit obnoxious to have the coop door close before you're sure the chicks go in. In that case I would recommend finding one that is controlled with an app. This coop door is 4/5, the only recommendation I would suggest is to build an app for ease of use/remote use. Great design!
