I wasnt really a fan of the first solar lights that i bought (different brand and that sticks to the ground) so i really dont have a huge expectation on this one and really ready to return if i saw even a single thing that can give an X mark (to my standards only) to the product. So after preseeing the button at the back to set up what kind of mode i would like to each light, i immidiately hang them all up to the walls around my house and waited for the fall. And in short, i think its Mode-B or 2 that i used and it exactly did what it's supposed to. I will buy some more tomorrow to have them tlready at my son's birthday party this saturday! Again, the lumens and function works as what is written (unless you may have a better way of checking it) and maybe the batch i got is one of the good ones. So do your due dilligence to check the one being delivered to you. For now, this thing i got is legit 5 stars! thanks. I'll buy again. hope you guys try it too... ... show more

    • Ok for cheap solar powered lights
I initially ordered 4 or these. But after I saw the high failure rate in the reviews, I changed my order to 8. I put up 2 of these in my front yard and 1 by my garage. I set them all to the #2 dim mode, where they stay dim all night and get bright for 15 seconds when I walk by. They don't go into bright mode until I get within 15 ft. I wish they had longer range, but it's way better than no lights like I had before. I agree with other reviewers that the included screws suck. Then included screws are cheap Chinese crapola. I went to the local hardware store and got some proper USA wood screws that are shorter and don't require a huge pilot hole. Much better. Time will tell if these last or not, but at least I have a few spares if they crap out. ... show more

The motion detector works fine, the lights are bright. Just an installation note: be sure you have the lights set on the mode you want before you hang them. The lights do not slip on over the screwhead so the screws have to be taken completely out to remove the light. The button to set the mode is on the back. Not a huge deal but if you’re mounting the lights with a ladder and get the setting wrong, back up to completely remove the screws, remove the light, push the button and replace the light. Not that I, personally, would ever do a thing like that but here we are. ... show more

    • good light if they get enough sun
these are effective lights, but they have a terrible flaw. for some ridiculous reason, if they dont get charged enough, & have low power, for some reason they set to the always on function, causing the remaining power to drain from them. i have no clue why they do this, but ive bought two 4 packs, and they all do it. if they are installed somewhere with ample sunlight, you will never encounter this, but if you put them on a porch, you will need to reset them to your preferred function every night, or they will change to the always on setting ... show more

I bought this four pack one for the garage one for the shop and one for the side of the house and one for the side entrance. Installation was very easy, I had expected that the lighting going to the sides would be a little better, as it did not directly reach 180°, but overall I am pleased with the purchase and with the performance of these lights. ... show more

Just got these put up around my cattle stock tanks for better night lighting. So far they appear to be good quality and work as expected. My only wish is the control button to be on the outside rather than under it. So to change a setting, you have to dismount. Other than that, I believe these will work well and I plan to buy couple more sets. ... show more

    • Nice lights but poor instructions
The lights' installation guide seems to be in error. Do check proper mode selection before you screw them into position. The manual says to press the rear button three times to reach the 'strong light' mode (off until motion, then 15 seconds of light). TEST your selection before screwing them down. I followed the manual and got the wrong mode, thus having to unscrew them all and reset. ... show more

These solar lights were very easy to set up. There are instructions included that tell you how to set up the different options for the length of time the light stays on after motion is detected and the brightness. Mine cover a large area so I have mine on the brightest setting .
