Readers; Only a partial review is possible now. The reason being this item is going to be installed in a plaster decorative column with a glass 'witch's ball' upon it. Once installed at the end of a walkway to the house, it will serve as a 'lighthouse' to guide my [and other] cars into the driveway parking location. And it will serve as a Guidepost when I have to shovel the pathway and have to FIND it under the snow. This stays lit all night even when set to constant on at 100% light output. I am using this as lans aping light to up-light a tree so I cannot speak to the motion detection performance. I have the light set to being on all the time at full power. Side by side comparison to other brands and this way outperforms the others, even others with similar size solar panel. I have the solar panel in full sun nearly all day. The panel is big and there is a nice long cord so you can get the solar panel into best position for maximum sun exposure. The color of the light output is a bright bluish white which is not ideal for my landscaping light use, but I’m going to experiment with a pinkish theater light-gel to warm up the color output. There is noticeable dimming of light output but only after it’s been on five or more hours and even then it is still bright. Since I don’t use for motion, I cannot review how well the motion detection works but for light power output and for how it stays lit all night I highly recommend this light. ... show more

Have to review this little light. Needed a solution to add some light to a farm gate - no electricity nearby. While this is not the brightest it is perfect for my use. Wondered how it would do after a cloudy day, no issues. 3 days of no sun it runs dim and only a few hours but that is expected. Good product for the $$$ 4 months in - no changes to review. I had a very small area to work with in placing the light so this light worked out perfectly. Not the brightest in the world but certainly enough. Light is on the front of the shed with the panel "hidden" on the side about 2/3 of the way to the back. Easy to install. For my purposes, the light works perfectly. So, I bought this light three months ago. Tonite, it only lit up for almost twenty minutes. It's fastened to a post near back door, and receives seven hours of full sunlight at this time of the year. Yesterday and today the sky was Carolina Blue, no clouds! I'll contact Amazon and the company that sold it thru Amazon. Surely, my light will be replaced! Appreciate the fact you can use different settings with this light rather than having few options. I chose the option of the light coming on at dusk and going off at dawn. It was very easy to attach the light and the solar panel to the flagpole so the light shines straight up the pole and lights up my flags. I'm not certain how many different settings this light has but if you wanted to use it as a motion detection system a simple push of the button will take it to that so setting it as you wish is very easy. The unit is well made and even on days that are not all that sunny, I find that the battery will charge enough to stay lit all night. ... show more
