I ordered the Blessny Solar Dual Fan Kit for our custom garden shed that has limited venting due to the design (was designed that way for a reason). I ordered it on the 14th and it arrived on the 29th via UPS along with a couple other items I had ordered. I really like that the solar panel is 25 watts and that this kit comes with two (2) fans that operate at 3500 rpm, but I’m unsure on how much cubic feet per minute of airflow that computes to. Our garden shed was designed to look like a Japanese Tea House so aesthetics are important to me. One fan has been mounted on the inside of the existing 12” vent hole (hidden behind lattice) and the second fan has been mounted below the ceiling, facing the vent hole to direct warm air towards the vent hole. The 25 watt solar panel is mounted on the roof, pointing true South (is at 15*s), solar panel does not come with hardware for height and angle adjustment, and the switch has been left in the on position so the fans will hopefully turn on during the hottest time of the day. I’m trying to figure out if I can wire in a 12 volt battery backup to extend run time. Global warming has caused the garden shed to be hotter during the day then I prefer. PowerStream does make a 12 volt UPS controller but it cost more then the Blessny Solar Dual Fan Kit so is cost prohibitive. I store all my garden tools in that shed, along with other boxed equipment (so wanted the shed to be hot to minimize possible build up of moisture, but not 130 degrees). I purchased a wifi humidity and temperature thermometer so I can monitor the garden shed temperature from our house. Upon receipt of the solar fan kit, did immediately open it up, box was damaged because the UPS worker dropped the box on the ground instead of carefully lowering it to the ground (is recorded by our security cameras), luckily the contents were intact and undamaged. The solar panel and fans appear well constructed, corners on the solar panel are a little sharp, manufacture could have taken the time to remove the sharp edges. The fans are fine, no sharp edges or burrs. The 15’ power cord is a couple feet too short for my application, was not able to run the power cord along the top plate of the shed, had to just stretch it across the expanse from point A to point B. I will eventually take the wire connector down to an electronic shop to see if they have that type of connector, if they do then I can make a jumper to extend the power cord without butchering it and splicing in wiring. I did not see a customer service contact phone number or email address and warranty is only 90 days. The suggested MSRP for this kit is very reasonable, especially given the large 25 watt 15”x15” solar panel. ... show more

    • Work pretty good and solar makes power restrictions no longer an issue.
I live in a rural area and have my own saw mill. I cut my own wood then place it in a solar kiln to dry before using the wood. With that my mill site is not close to power and solar is generally my only reasonable option other than a generator which is a waste for a solar kiln. These fans allow dry hot air to be force in and pulled out during the day without me ever having to lift a finger or worry. The solar portion works great and same with the fans. With the option of intake/exhaust it makes these very versatile. Overall these are well worth the money and have worked great so far. ... show more

    • Works great as a heat venting setup

I have a loft in a garage attic and in the summertime I have a large vent fan installed in one end to remove hot air and in turn keep the main portion of the garage much cooler. I had the fan motor seize up once and I didn’t realize it right away and it didn’t trip the breaker right away either. By the time I caught it the motor had gotten pretty hot. Even though the fan is wired in a thermostat and a breaker it made me uneasy about leaving it hooked up when I has gone on overnight trips. This solar powered exhaust fan is a great alternative for me. I have them installed in the opposite end of the attic and they move enough air to do a pretty decent job up there without so much fear of burning the place down. I don’t run a storage battery with them because for my purpose they generally don’t need to run at night time or in cloudy weather anyway. When I need the is when the hot sun is beating down and that’s the times when they work best. So far I don’t have any complaints about this set up and it’s working good for me. There’s a large number of applications where this kit would be really handy and if you think it could work for you I’d recommend trying it. ... show more

The solar panel and fans work well for removing hot air from my shed. I would recommend these to people in need of this type of fan. However, the lack of installation instructions and the horrible mounting parts definitely needs to be addressed. I understand that you get what you pay for, but the screws were too short and it had weird brackets that made no sense. I ended up throwing them all away and using stuff I already had.
