I ordered 12 total of this set. I wanted place settings that didn't have coffee mugs with them as I already have 3,735 coffee vessels in my house (or it seems like it...) Tip #1 - if wanting more than 4 place settings, watch the pricing. When I ordered, the best deal was three of 4 place setting sets rather than the 8 + 4 or 12-piece place settings. There's enough variation in each set that different shipments didn't matter. Play with the pricing to get the best deal. All three shipments arrived safely without any breakage. They were packed well and survived my UPS driver's tendency to throw boxes over our gate AND my 11 year-old having to carry them down a long driveway... These are heavy/thick and beautiful in color. Some within the same set were more blue than green and vice-versa. I love the variation. They are a reactive glaze, so the squares that add sturdiness on the bottom show through on some and the edges aren't perfect. Closely look at the pictures in the listing as they show the variations and squares that show through from the bottom of the plates. The bowls are a good size, and I am a new fan of pasta dishes (although those are harder to fit in my dishwasher.) So far they've held up well with teenagers using and washing them daily.

This dish set is perfect it's beautiful and sturdy. It's a great value , its dishwasher safe, it was packaged safely and I didn't get any chipped plates. This set is gorgeous for plating your gorgeous meals!!

Beautiful dishes, however one of the bowls was broken when I opened the box. Was unable to get a replacement and did not want to send the entire set back. Would be nice if we could purchase items separately. I do like these dishes, the size and weight are very nice.

If you want to see the grey color in the pictures, you would have to have glaringly bright light. In average light they look nearly black. Bought a set used from A resale. I got four broken bowls and three irregular (spotted) plates. They are hefty and feel fragile. Awful lot of money for big disappointment. And they will not replace broken pieces of you buy them as a resale.
