    • Tall and Safe But Not Lightweight
I'm very glad to be able to report that this step ladder feels safe. It doesn't shake at all when I'm on it so I don't have to worry about that feeling like I'm going to fall off at any minute like I do with other stepladders (I have another one that I nicknamed 'Old Shaky'.) But this one is not only sturdy, but the grips are great for preventing it from being slippery as well. I'm petite and this step ladder will allow me to turn on and off a higher ceiling vent I was hoping it would help me to reach. It will also be the perfect stepladder for reaching the top of our tall Christmas tree. The reason for the four star rating (versus five) is because it's not lightweight, and actually is kind of heavy. This makes it difficult to move it around to wherever it's needed. I was planning on using it on both floors of my house, but I can't see dragging this heavy thing up and down stairs regularly. Officially rated at a 330-lb. capacity, this four-step Soctone household ladder looks and feels every bit able to handle such a load as it is very well-constructed. It is quite tall, enabling me to easily reach and work on the ceiling fans and light fixtures on my nine-feet-tall ceilings. Additionally, although I am "only" 180 lbs., at no time when using this step ladder did I experience it to be either unsturdy or feel it was unsafe. The above notwithstanding, we like to keep at least one of these types of four-step ladders on each of our floors and we have not at all been disappointed with this one. I picked up this step ladder for light use indoors and outdoors around the house. My place is pretty small, so having a compact solution was important to me to avoid clutter, and this one fit the bill. Function This ladder comes fully assembled; just remove it from the box and it's ready to go. It does have some heft to it, which certainly aids with stability when in use. Upon opening, there is a small notch that locks the ladder in place for use. Each step had a rubber grip, while each leg has a rubber type footing, both to assist with stability as well as protect your flooring when indoors. Height Gain With each step, you gain a little over 9 1/4 inches. At the top step, you are about 37.5 inches off the ground -- so a little over three feet in height. Ideal for small jobs where you just need some additional height, such as changing lightbulbs, smoke detectors, accessing top shelf cabinets, etc. Storage Part of the reason I picked this ladder is that I wanted something I could store under my bed, which only had a 3.5 inch clearance. This fit with room to spare, so it's out of sight when I don't need it. I did find that the two sides of the ladder do not come together 100% when closed, but when laying down under the bed, this was not an issue. Overall a nice ladder that meets my needs. For reference, I'm not a big guy -- about 5'8'' and 130 pounds. It seems like it'll work fine for users of many sizes, although it's a tad narrow in width for the big boys and girls out there. ... show more

    • The perfect folding 4 step ladder
I'm really impressed with this step ladder. You usually don't see anti-slip steps that really do their job and keep you from slipping. The 4 step feature also allows you to actually be 3 feet off the ground and the stability factor has been well thought out. Although it is extremely lightweight and easily to move around from place to place, it still has the capability of holding 300 lbs with no problem. This stepladder is very sturdy, folds up well so that it can easily be stored away, and locks in place for safety. We are really happy with it - I feel comfortable climbing up and down it, even with my balance issues.
