I seldom need a can opener since so many cans have pull tabs and I buy few canned goods But the can openers I had including 2 purchased in the last few years have been total junk and I almost always had to use an old “p38” can opener Veterans who used these things to open c-rations on a regular basis will understand that as we age, arthritis and other age related issues makes the p38 less than ideal This opener seems to work well with less effort I will try to revisit this review as I use it more but I will recommend this unless it wears out quickly or develops some other problem ... show more

I bought one in May ,work so good I bought two More Incase mine ever wears out .I was so tired of my electric can openers binding peeling labels off . Bought other hand operated ones they would cut a little but then it was like the rollers weren't deep enough to penitrate .I have gallon cans for jalapeno peppers and such .This opener hasn't failed me yet . Needed a can opener for the #10 cans. This can opener makes it much easier to open larger cans. Works fine so far. We'll see how it holds up long term.

it's a good can opener for giant cans, but you have to be careful, or you will skin your knuckles when turning the crank, the handle could be a bit longer.
