Overall a nice rack, though I would feel better if there were more metal and less plastic on the feet, though attachment to the rails on my explorer is solid with no issues thus far. Sliding adjustments at the ends of the cross members make the rack versatile for different applications that require different positions on the roof (I use it for ski rack and carrier bin). There were two main concerns I had when purchasing this. Fit and installation, and wind noise while driving. Fit and installation: I added these to my 2020 Ford Explorer Limited. I watched a YouTube instructional video as the instructions in the package are almost useless. It was pretty straightforward and a piece of cake with the video help. It took about 30 minutes total for me. Installing them on the vehicle is easy because they allow for adjustment before tightening them down. Overall, very happy with this aspect. Wind noise while driving: Between 0-55 mph, I don’t hear anything from the crossbars. They have a nice aerodynamic to them which helps this. Over 55 mph, I can hear a faint bass sound coming from the roof. It’s noticeable if you listen for it but my wife didn’t hear it at all until I mentioned it to her. Thankfully it’s not a whistling sound or other annoying sound, it’s a deep bass note. The tone doesn’t bother me and it’s pretty faint so I am happy in this area as well. I picked these up because of the value. The instructions however for installation were terrible. I watched a quick video which helped and they went on fairly easily after that however they do tend to cause a bit of a whistle at highway speeds. They appeared to be aerodynamic and I did not anticipate the noise that I get off of them. All in all they were a decent value for the money and they serve a purpose. ... show more

I absolutely am super impressed with this crossbar! I was disappointed without having visual instructions included in the box, though with help, it was easy to get together using directions listed on product page. Since I am more of a visual learner, I include my photos and instructions to help talk you into this sturdy, good looking addition to my car! Step #1- Remove key covers by unlocking and pulling with key to slide straight out of bracket. Then slide crossbar(blue) into the cover designed to fit with the black rubber gasket side up. Step #2 - line up crossbar with outside screw insertion hole. Insert phillips head screw (pink) to hand tight. Step #3 - loosen both clamp adjustment (yellow) and crossbar length adjustment (green) with hex wrenches provided. The crossbar screw only needs to be loosened just enough to become a spring push button (1/2 inch give it take). Step #4 - Adjust length of crossbar by pushing the screw "button" and wiggling crossbar ends to the EQUAL with needed. (Mine was 2 notches showing on the underside of the crossbar to each side). Step #4 - Place crossbar on car roof runners making sure the "front of the car" arrows are pointed towards the front. Hand tighten clamp adjustment, then hand tighten the crossbar length adjustment with provided hex wrenches. Last Step, #5 - slide key covers into correct crossbar ends with the " front of car " arrow pointing towards front of car, lock and enjoy as much as I am!!!! Build quality is great, painted parts came without any chips. The locks could probably use some oil, but not a big thing. Installation was a small learning curve, but once you figure one side out, you’ll find it’s pretty well thought out. Wind noise is pretty minimal even at highway speeds. Whatever you have on your roof racks will be noisier! Since this is an airfoil profile, it can be hard to get a good fit for attachments, but it can be done. These work fine for our 2025 Ford Explorer. Installation was quite frustrating for me, however. The video was of no help and the hard copy instructions weren't much better. I didn't see anyone else reporting problems with installation, so I'm not sure what the problem was for me beyond when mating pieces together, nothing seemed to fit well. I finally put away my phone (with the video) and disregarded the instructions and employed old school logic. Things seemed to go fairly well from there. The cross bars seem strong and well constructed and there is no noise when traveling at highway speeds up to 80 mph. I'm interested to see how long the finish lasts; I live in a state with diverse environments, mountains, winter snow and summers with desert heat. It will be a good test for the paint/finish. During installation one of the cross bar locks fell out simply during handling, so I'm not convinced that the lock is a strong anti-theft security measure. Nonetheless, beyond the installation difficulty, I don't have any reason to say I wouldn't purchase again. ... show more
