  • 30 min installation.
Pretty easy to install. Took about 30 mins to get it on.

  • Great seller. Very responsive.
The product is "okay". If you need a rooftop rack this will get the job done. Pros: easy to install, looks nice. Cons: rattles around a bit when going over bumps. Adhesive has a hard time adhering gutter weather strip to top of roof. Super seller. Absolutely responsive and will make everything right. For this I give 5 stars. ... show more

  • Good product
Easy to install. Excellent quality. A small rattle when I hit a bump. Nothing that can’t be fixed with a small piece of adhesive foam or rubber.

  • Good rack - But they shipped one wrong part
The rack itself seemed solid and fit fine on my 2015 Tacoma, but they sent two right sided mounting brackets, so I wasn't able to mount it or use any of it and had to send it back, which cost me $40 in shipping that gets deducted from the refund. I decided to just get the OEM roof rack from a Toyota dealership to save time and actually be able to talk to a real person versus the zero customer service that this "Snailfly" company offers. The OEM rack was $350 and honestly really dang similar to this for anyone wondering, and maybe even less sturdy which seems crazy to me. I would've gladly used this one if they had sent the right parts. ... show more

  • Okay-ish, with some major caveats.
**First note: If your 2020 Tacoma was made before March of 2020 this will NOT fit. I have called dealers, Toyota, and contacted other manufacturers about this; as best I can figure this is a manufacturing issue for the mentioned timeframe. The Shark fin antenna is in the wrong place and the rear crossbar will push it and the roof down when you try and lock the cross bar in place. Not good. ** The crossbars do seem to be pretty sturdy. I don’t know about the advertised weight rating because the plastic brackets/pillars, connectors, and only one screw attaching the crossbars to the pillars, but once tightened it all seemed okay. As for comments on how hard this is to install. This is pretty darn easy to install. The instructions that came in the box do leave a bit to be desired, but they are fine. And I think you should be able to figure out out fairly easily. The fact that when I contacted the seller they sent me a multi page document rather than the two page document from the box is a bit frustrating. Recommendation for the manufacture: mark the steel brackets with ‘L’ and ‘R’, that was about the only part (for me) that I had to do a double take on with the install. If you look at my pictures you will see my other big issue with these. There is a square hole for a round peg. This roof rack will rattle loudly when driving down the road. And I find that unacceptable. Other racks I’ve had on vehicles have rubber grommets in those holes to prevent this. Also, you can see in one of the pictures, I tried to tighten the screw to the required torque setting (50ft lbs) with a torque screwdriver and it pulled the plastic completely away from the frame of the rack. Finally. The seller is very responsive. However, when I contacted them about the rattle they responded with “We understand installation issues happens. Please check the following installation video and the attached installation instructions”. Which does not address the issue at all. They also don’t have a solution for the rattle and can only state that the roof rack should be clear of the shark fin antenna. Sadly, I’m returning the crossbars. And the issues above to me indicate a barely-par product. Just be aware. ... show more

  • OK for the money
Presumably you're looking at this roof rack because you want the OE Tacoma roof rack, but the price and unimpressive load rating have left you looking for alternative options. At least, this was my situation. After combing through dozens of other similar racks on Amazon and other sources, I settled on this one for a few reasons. Most importantly was the load rating. It claims to be much higher than the OE rack. Not sure if this is an overstatement or if it is in fact more stout as I have not had the opportunity to test it. But after looking it over, I suspect it would handle the advertised load. I'm rating this rack with four stars for a few reasons. As some other reviews indicated, the instructions are just ok. But this isn't overly complicated to mount, so it's not a big deal. There are several videos on YouTube showing how to mount OE and OE styles racks. Do yourself a favor and watch those first. Unlike some of the reviews on these clone OE racks, I didnt have too much issue with getting bolt holes lined up. This particular unit didn't have as many complaints in the reviews as some others did on that, which is another reason I chose this one. My advice would be to start the bolts but don't tighten anything until it's all in place. As per the instructions, you're supposed to break off the clips at the front of the weather strip channel on either side that the weather strip itself snaps into. I saw no reason why those would be in the way, and if I ended up not liking this rack, I wanted the option to be able to go back to factory with the weather strip. So, I didn't break those clips and I had no issues mounting the rack as a result. By the way, do not discard the weather strip. It is prohibitively expensive to replace and guys on Tacoma World will buy it up in a heartbeat if you don't want it. I would also advise after cutting the tape from around the bolt holes that you use a sealant just to help prevent water leaking into the cab. I used a product called Lexel to seat the rubber washers around the holes, then went back over the edges of the washers with another line of lexel to really seal the edge. I also did this late in the afternoon and let the truck sit overnight to give the Lexel some time to set. After that, installation wasn't too difficult. Again, watching the YouTube videos helps. I do not have any discernable wind noise with the rack in the stowed away position. There is some wind noise as is to be expected when the rack arms are deployed (almost like driving through a tunnel). Lucky for me, the newer Tacomas are very quiet in the cab and you can still have a conversation inside. Or turn on the radio and you barely notice it. I have not hauled my kayak on the rack yet, but I expect additional noise and some MPG loss. That's just how it goes. When stowed away, the arms want to rattle a little on any bumps on the road. I will have to devise a remedy for that. This was a big contributor to the four star rating instead of five. **By the way, this rack WILL fit a 2020 Tacoma, but only if your 2020 was built after FEB2020. Look up the post on Tacoma World. Toyota moved the antenna forward on 2020 models and now it interferes with OE and OE clone racks. Toyota did not correct the issue until late FEB2020 / MAR2020 timeframe. ** For the money, it seems ok. Time will tell. I may replace it in the long run if Toyota ever beefs up the OE rack. Hope this helps those of you that are in the same predicament I was ! ... show more
