So first of all it was difficult to get the paper off of the adhesive part so that you can stick it on to the grill and secondly when you do try to peel it off it is so easy to pull it off of the tape that you can ruin it very easily and I've noticed with other brands this does not happen and it's much better made. I bought this to help seal up some smoke leaks from a new even embers smoker I had bought ..the door was just a curved piece of steel plate that laid on top of the smoker barrel...used as sold the first time and realized I could do better job sealing smoke loss so I bought some lava seal 600 degree sealent and this gasket and went around and sealed all the penetrations around the smoke box and greases drip tube with the sealent and then cleaned the rear of the door with alcohol to remove any grease etc and applied this to the underside of the door so that the weight of the door helps hold the gasket against the smoker barrel ..WORKED GREAT LITTLE IF ANY SMOKE DRIFTS OUT IF YOU TRYING TO SEAL A DOOR OR OTHER OPEN AND CLOSING ITEM THIS STUFF WORKS

I agree with one of the reviews! Although I have not fired the grill up yet, cause it said to allow it to season for a day! It is a felt, caution needs to be used or the adhesive may separate during applications. (Use a razor or sharp scissors to cut.) Now addressing another post! DO NOT APPLY TO BOTH LID AND BARREL ON A TRAEGER GRILL! Only to lid! It is much too thick for both! One side is a perfect seal. Otherwise you have more of a gap. Thus effectively defending the purpose! More later as I use the grill!

I wish I had a video or a picture of my smoker before installing the gasket - smoke was leaking from everywhere around the lid. I have a GMG Jim Bowie smoker, and since the lid is curved it's no sealed tight enough so every time I turned it on, a lot of the smoke would leak which prolonged the starting process of the smoker, and also prolonged the process of raising the temperature for good grilling (above 190C). Now after installing the gasket, about 95% of the smoke goes out of the chimney (I guess there's no 100% sealing in outdoor smokers, but that's close enough) and the smoker effortlessly reaches high temperatures and doesn't struggle to maintain it. I've recommended this gasket to a friend which is having a similar issue, he'll probably buy one as well. Great job on this product!

This seal is awesome! Very easy to install but make sure you completely clean the area you are installing with alcohol. Make sure you know where you want the seal before sitting in place. The adhesive is like concrete, where you place it is where it's staying. The perfect fix for my leaking smoker!! AAA++

I Bought a new Oklahoma joe reverse flow smoker bbq pit which had some spots that were having smoke escaping before the exhaust pipe so had to buy a sealer gasket for bbq pit , but didn't want to buy just any gasket so I did some research and came across this one .. this one has some good reviews so gave it a shot and I'm am glad the turn out the bbq pit is now sealed and doing good I would recommend this gasket to friends and family ...

Absolute garbage. adhesive sticks ok but felt comes off adhesive so you have a strip of adhesive stuck to your grill and felt falling off. Don't bother!!!

Although a lot is provided, it was murder after the first cut trying to get the tape separated off of the material for application. I fought with every piece. As for sealing the smoker, it somewhat ceased the smoke leaks on my offset smoker, the material does not allow a solid seal. Both the lids now are lifted from the smoker, I guess I will need to add lock down clamps. To top it off, I found it is a China made product. Will be removing and throwing it away.
