Why did you pick this product vs others?: This smoker is the best thing since sliced bread. It's easy to assemble, and even at the halfway mark blows a lot of smoke. I'm using hickory chips instead of pellets, and the chips would last over two hours. I haven't tried pellets as yet. There is quite a bit of tar with hickory chips, but cleanup is easy by removing the rubber cap on the bottom of the small tower

This added so much more smoke to our electric smoker. We used to always use an old school wood smoker that provided so much flavor. We sold it when we moved and bought electic. Much less flavor. A friend suggested we add this and it made a massive difference in our brisket! Get a good quality power bank to hook up to it, ours did a good job. We will definitely be using this from now on, we missed that flavor so much!

The packaging and instructions were incredible. They even provided the tools. I have it up and running! The only complaint I have is that it did not come with a power adapter. This amazed me. After all, it’s a great design and an obvious amount of care went into the instructions. It came with an USB cable but Instead of providing the adapter block, they chose to put a note in the box warning that if the adapter you use exceeds 7v it will burn the unit out. And if the current is lower than 2A the unit won’t run. I’m not an electrician and Google only confused things more. So I’m setting here feeling nervous and fingers crossed that I am not frying the unit. COME ON FOLKS! Really?!

This was/is a worthwhile purchase especially if you do low temperature smoking, so low the smoker heater won't smoulder the wood chips. I cold smoke salmon for lox at <100 degrees and this let's me add as much or as little smoke as I like. I use this a lot and highly recommend it.

Does this thing smoke...? Absolutely. It smokes more than my pellet smoker and is way more efficient at creating smoke than anything I have seen. Why 3 stars though? The thing is a total mess to clean. The directions say to use drain cleaner to get the tar out of the device, but what a mess. It stinks up everything it is around. I think this is probably the same experience you will have with any little smoker like this, but I am debating if the smoke is worth the hassle of cleanup. It is: Easy to assemble Easy to use (make sure you already have a battery source for it, that is not included) Super Smokey Very low temperature for cold smoking Good at creating flavorful smoked Lox Super hard to clean Stinky and makes things around it smell

The media could not be loaded. Update: If you can believe it, there may almost be TOO much smoke. At first I lit both sides of the tube and started using wood chips instead of pellets. There was a crazy amount of smoke, so I started lighting just one side and putting the motor on low. There was STILL a LOT of smoke. The cheese that I smoked for about 45 minutes had an extremely strong smoke flavor. I think I'm actually going to vent the cap on the small tube to reduce the smoke amount. Never thought I'd say that there was too much smoke, but this thing is CRAZY. Not a bad problem to have, but just something you may have to adjust to get the right about of smoke for your preference. I haven't actually smoked any meat yet, but I put it together and loaded it up with pellets to try it out. It puts out a crazy account of smoke, even on the lowest setting. It was very easy to put together and easy to light. It's been running for about 2 hours so far and it hasn't used hardly any pellets. Since it's cool outside I went ahead and put some cheese on the smoker. Haven't tried the cheese, since it's still smoking but, so far, I'm impressed.

I’ve been trying to make DIY cold smokers for the last six or seven years with multiple set packs, including smoke being too hot, generation not reliable or duration of smoke activity too short. This device solves all these problems in a small compact easy to set up package. I do think that buyers should be aware that it is certainly no design fault, but just the facts of smoke generation, that a tarry creosote substance will be created fairly quickly and it requires frequent cleaning. Heavy duty, neoprene, gloves and wire brushes are recommended as this stuff, sticks everywhere and stains. The device is amazing and has jumped my cold, smoked salmon and bacon into the next level.
