These are extremely well made and sturdy. I've since gotten a second pair for another barn door. And they have a beautiful finish. Note: Although the wheels are very dense, they are nylon or plastic, so don't weld nearby - I melted a flat spot on one by accident.

Last time I built a sliding barn door, there were very few manufacturers of hardware. and what there was was stupid-expensive. I made my own hardware using 3" garage door opener cable pulleys and 3/16" x 2" steel which I MIG welded into a J-shape like these hangers. The customer was happy that I saved her money and I was happy I didn't have to wait for the hardware, which was back-ordered. Fast forward several years: I need two more sliding doors. I saw these and decided to give them a try. Received them the other day. Very solid, good quality. 1/4" steel, ball-bearing wheels that will be plenty sturdy for my needs. I'm torn about my review. Nothing really wrong with hangers more with the instructions that came with my kit I bought these to go with a barn door kit that came with I-Shape hangers. Following the instructions in the picture the I-Shape and J-shape had the same mounting measurements. However after I drilled the holes and started looking at the hangers I noticed that they have different hang heights ~.5" which means the J-Shape will hang the door .5" higher than the I-Shape unless you account for it in your mounting holes. while looking at buying a 2nd set of I shape hangers it shows using a different measurement than what came with my kit... Currently looking to hang 1 door with I-shape and the 2nd door with the J-shape and seeing which looks the best then ordering a 2nd set. ... show more

These are the same hardware as used in the EaseLife 12 FT Heavy Duty Sliding Barn Door Hardware Track Kit sold by Amazon. I had occasion to buy this Smartstandard hardware as I used the 12 foot kit to hand two three foot doors rather than 1 six foot door.
