Easy to set up (if you're familiar with the Chinese Smart Life app, which is what most cheap smart devices use these days). Near instant response time. Now I have more outlets in a commonly used wall outlet. Easy to connect with Alexa. each of the outlets has its own on/off section in the app. You can group the smart outlets or use them individually except the usb that’s just one group or you can use them without wifi. The surge protector is a plus. The only problem I had was when I connected and iron to the outlet with the setup I have in the picture it kicked back the surge protector on the wall outlet so just connected the iron on the extra wall outlet on top instead of the extender. ... show more

SUMMARY This smart outlet extender functions as expected. It is an economical way to start adding a few appliances to a home to act in a smart manner, such as a light and a fan, if you do not have a full light / smart plug bridge solution. I had no issues with the Smart Life app to control the outlet from my phone and the outlet integrated easily with Alexa using Alexa Skills. The product will cover an entire outlet and has an optional plastic ground plug to support its placement in the second plug of the outlet. There is an led light next to each outlet on the device to show that it has power. You will likely need to setup your router to broadcast a separate 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz WiFi signal/ID, as Smart Life App/Outlet would not connect with my Dual Band 2.4/5Ghz router setup. ... show more

Came across this outlet plug and got super excited. Wait, what?! They have outlets that you can control with a remote and/or Alexa? Heck yeah! Not having children, I don't get to boss them around to go turn on this or go turn off that. So, this means I can do it remotely! Total bonus. Super easy to set up and intuitive to navigate with the Smart Life app. I also like that it has 3 direct USB plugs. With multiple devices now requiring simple USB power, this makes what would typically be a 4 outlet plug into a 7! Only surge protects up to 900 joules, so you won't load very heavy appliances into this outlet. But still, great for things like phones, lamps, etc. Great product! ... show more

Got this installed the first day I got it. Now I can't seem to live without it after I link it up to control by Alexa. I got this for my bed side night table. And the whole phone charging dock, night light, radio, and a therapy heating pad are all hooked up to this and identified by Alexa. So now all I have to do is voice command Alexa and everything will power up or down through this device. Very convenient to use. For the first few days, I did experience a lot of finicky connections, but after installing an Orbi Wifi Network, all works well now.
