The media could not be loaded. I waited for about 3 months of use before posting. Occasionally I will get a "failure" to read my fingerprint which takes only a couple seconds to try again and open. The fingerprint reader on my phone fails more often. I also tried to lengthen the duration before it locks but it still seems to do it within a matter of seconds after unlocking. But all in all, it works very reliably and looks sleek and high quality. The remainder of this was written immediately following installation. Installation was very easy. I chose to keep my existing strike plate on the door frame because the screw holes on the provided strike plate were spaced a little further apart than the existing holes. The rubber bumper on the front (keypad) side of the lock looks off-center to me despite several attempts to re-position and re-screw the unit. It also does not lie flush against my door on the back (battery) side. However, I can't say for sure whether these are issues with the lock or if my door is not perfect to begin with. There is one aspect of the setup process which I found irritating. For adding key fobs, passcodes, fingerprints I would get an "operation failed" message every time if I didn't first touch the keypad a couple times to "wake it up". I have installed a number of other smart home devices and found this to be unusually cumbersome and not intuitive to the user compared to other setups. However, this inconvenience is only relevant to initial setup, which is fairly quick to work through if you know these extra touches are necessary. It also was not intuitive which skill to enable in the Alexa app for voice control. The skill name is not stated in the instructions in the box, nor the instructions in the app. Following the QR code for FAQs from the instructions I found a video instruction that shows the skill is called ScienerSmart. I was surprised by how large/bulky the key fobs are. I expected them to be roughly the size of one of those little store loyalty cards that you can put on your keychain, with a little more thickness to it. See picture for size. It is quite large compared to anything else on my keychain. Also, in the app my gateway connection with my lock shows "weak". My gateway is in a room which is right next to the door. So if you plan to have your gateway located a considerable distance away from your door, the connection strength may not be adequate. I have used the physical key, key fobs, pin code, and fingerprint for entry. All are acceptable, but fingerprint is my preference (prefer not to dig out my keys for the key fob or physical key, and pin code takes a little more time to type in). ... show more

I returned a cheaper product that stopped working and paid about $50 more for this one, and it's surely worth it. It's an exterior handle, but I'm using it on my bedroom door and I really like the added heavy dutiness of the product. It took me some time to install it, but that's only because it's me! The instructions are actually very easy and they even pour all the hardware for successive steps in difference bags and number them for you. Use the printed instructions, along with the video. I found that it was easy to set up all the different ways to unlock and they all work well. Tip: scan your thumbprint more than once, and from different angles, and it will work better; I think it works fine though. If you're at all familiar with the TTLOCK app, you'll find that this is exactly the same. Overall, I haven't had any issues with the product and I would highly recommend it. ... show more

We did lots of research and read many reviews and went with the Sifely as the lock with the least negative issues. I think many of the bad reviews were from improper installation. We installed this in an office with about 15 regular users. After about 4 months the keypad stopped working, although most everyone was using a fingerprint anyway. We wanted to make sure we had the keypad working as a backup so we contacted customer service. They were super responsive with every interaction. They gave us instruction to try and fix it, and then do a factory reset since the first fix didn't work. The keypad still didn't light up after the factory reset so they immediately sent us a new lock no questions asked, just a short video verifying the issue. We particularly love the ease of use on the app, and we were able to import the codes from the old lock to the new one, just had to set up the fingerprints again. This is my second Sifely smart door lock. They work great. I have had the last one for 3 years, still in operation and just moved to a different door, and this new one has been great since install. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because the unit has to be switched with deadbolt. In most cases this would be ok but in my case, it causes my storm door not to latch as both handles collide. The storm door handle was designed to clear based on the knob/handle being below the deadbolt(typical installation). Since Sifely makes you out the deadbolt on the bottom, the handles collide. ... show more
