The door is self locking which is a great feature for elderly people and I can grant access to first responders in case of emergencies. The product was easy to install due to great engineering. It has been working great, so far for over a week. No issues like others seem to be having. Installation was easy. Was just replacing an older door knob and the cutouts were standard and fit perfectly. Pairing with app went fast, just had to remember to activate the keypad to "wake it up" the lock to start pairing. Registering finger prints with the lock is very similar to doing it on a phone. Just move your finger around the lock sensor to get different angles. You can add additional finger prints (different fingers) or more angles of the same finger if you want. Another plus was it recognized the security fob I use for my apartment for the security entry door and elevator. I just registered it with lock via the app. Entered a numeric passcode. Also created a random, "one time use" code that I will give to the resident manger in case they need entry in case of emergency. Need to keep that number handy when they call for the code. Also got the WiFi bridge (separate) so I can unlock the door when I'm not at home and someone needs to drop something off. The biggest problem I had was trying to make a duplicate key (2 were included). After many tries I finally got one made. Part number - ilco DM1054K - MD17 For me, I will use the finger print sensor most of the time. If all else fails the physical key can open the door. Overall, very satisfied with the product and quick response from the support team (tried to see if they sold blank keys, they don't). [This is not a paid review, nor a gift of the product, paid full tilt ]. Surprisingly easy to install and operate, and it works well- doing all it advertises. Instructions are easy to follow, seems well built. The only slight issue is with the strike plate- the holes for the screws are not what all of my other (name brand) locks used, so it was a bit tricky to install one, the other I used the old plate, since it would have been nearly impossible to install new screws, next to the existing screw hole. Surprising there isn't an industry wide standard. Also, the plate on the front of the latch has square corners, and most new locks have rounded corners; had to chisel out each corner; not hard. READ THE DIRECTIONS BEFORE YOU START! I absolutely love the ease of use fingerprint scanner. My kids don’t have to carry keys around to get lost. I can program codes and unlock right from my phone. Quality seems exceptional, and install was simple, once we have the right parts. I did mess up install in the beginning but was able to quickly replace working with Amazon and the seller. I've had this lock for a year and a half, and it works well. Only had to change the batteries one time, so far. The one issue is with the fingerprint reader. As other reviewers have stated, when you put in a fresh fingerprint, it works for a few days, and then stops working. I've gone through this operation several times, with the same result. Now, I just use a code, which is almost as fast, and never fails. Was easy to install, with solid quality. Would have been a five star if the fingerprint reader worked properly. ... show more

They say 3rd time is the charm. I have purchased 2 other brands from Amazon to install smart door locks in 3 bedrooms and I had to return them. Then I found these from NICE DIGI, and they FIT THE DOOR (USA), super easy to install and to set up. I just finished installing all 3 by myself and I love the fact that you can use a regular key, your finger print, a code or the smart tag. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. SOFTWARE WISE, I would suggest for them to add the capability of being able TO READ the codes we create, in my case for Airbnb use and since I manage multiple door locks at once I’d love to be able to see which code belongs to who AT ANYTIME like Kwikset does. If they can fix that software issue it would be even better. Good quality for the price. UPDATE MAY 8, 2024 This is the 4th smart lock set I buy from NICE DIGI. Original review after a few weeks: (Update below this). Purchased this for a garage entryway to keep from using a garage door as an entry point for traffic. Looked at name brand locksets and ended up getting this one due to the vast array of ways to unlock. So far so good. Fingerprint was easy to set up and works well. Keypad same. Physical key is a little rough, but that's a last resort. Haven't used the card access yet. I would have like to have the ability to not have it auto lock, which I thought would be annoying if I needed to go in and out doing yard work, DIY projects, etc. But with the fingerprint, it doesn't slow one down. Overall would recommend. It's only been a week, so I cannot attest to the longevity of the product yet. Update: 1/26/24 If you live in cold weather climates, this may be an issue. With the recent cold snap I noticed that the fingerprint function stopped and then it appeared to be on an error cycle to where it kept repeating “operation failed”. And this was not when I was attempting to use the lock. I had just walked outside and heard the phrase repeating itself every 5-10 seconds. Removed the lock and brought it inside to “warm up”. After 12 hours I reinserted batteries and the finger print function worked again. But within 20 minutes the error cycle began without being touched. This actually works so much better than expected. The fingerprint thing reads really well as long as you line up your finger the same way every time. We are using it for our halfway house and it's really nice because I don't have to give out any keys and if the person moves out of the house, I just use the app to remove the fingerprint. I love the auto lock feature, but if you don't use auto lock, there is no way to lock it without using your phone. When I am late for work and need to run out of the house, I wish there was a button on the unit that I could hit on my way out, instead of trying to find my phone in my purse, wait a few seconds for it to connect to the internet, then lock it with my phone. ... show more
