  • Very convenient and easy to install Very convenient and easy to install
Color: Matte Black Style: No Handle
This lock is great. I installed it in minuets when I replaced my old dead bolt. I had to drill 1 hole above the deadbolt and it all fit together nicely. I is very convenient now that I don't have to dig through my keys while trying to open the door. Yes I can recommend this lock to my Mom.

  • Broken immediately never worked.
Color: Glossy Black Style: No Handle
I finally got around to installing the thing one day past my return date. As I cut all the holes and installed everything perfectly I noticed the thing didn't work. The Tumblr wouldn't turn. Then I noticed that the installation video had a different better lock than mine. This one has a little tiny pin that got pushed out of place and then the mechanism just broke cuz it's flimsy as hell. Now it's stuck in my door and I have to remove it tomorrow morning, because I got too frustrated tonight. But the Tumblr has never turned with the Locking bar from the main piece you know the flat gold bar? It never turned once no matter how I adjusted it or turned it. This thing is junk and it's too late to return which sucks I have to get a new lock from somewhere. Yeah I probably wouldn't buy this one it's pretty cheap ... show more

Color: Matte Black Style: No Handle
I’ve been using this smart fingerprint door lock for a few weeks now, and it’s been a great upgrade from our traditional lock. The fingerprint sensor works fast and unlocks the door almost instantly, even when my hands are full. I really like the auto-lock feature—it gives peace of mind when we forget to lock the door on the way out. Installation was straightforward and didn’t require any special tools. The app control is easy to use, and the battery life has been solid so far—highly recommend for added security and convenience. ... show more

  • Re-updated - I'm happy now... Re-updated - I'm happy now...
Color: Matte Black Style: No Handle
Fourth revision, 5-23-26: Mfr sent several replacements to address my old complaints (the first replacement was identical to the initially-ordered item, and it took some doing to explain the concern I had to begin with, but they did later get improved replacements out to me.) Since then, they have been intermittently beseeching (yes, that's the word) me to comment (pretty clearly to improve the star rating in this review, which I've done, but not overtly asking me to do this). I do concur that they've made at least one distinct improvement, in that these locksets now can be set up such that the locking knob is consistent REGARDLESS of the hand of your installation, and with the addition of a gateway, these can be remotely operated if you wish - very helpful to let neighbors in during emergencies, etc (more below on that). They've also stepped up their communication game, though I get the distinct sense that it's AI set to "extreme flattery mode" at this point. I have a couple of minor complaints about the design, still: 1) I find these are prone to being accidentally brushed/snagged by my fingers or hands when pushing the door closed on the way out, and when this occurs, they make various accidental noises ranging from an electronic "ding-dong" doorbell noise, a blip of a siren that's intended to warn (scare?) a would-be burglar, a voice telling me to enter a code, etc. 2) I also find I regularly will brush fingers against the lock cover-plate (a metal disc that swings aside, for the conventional key to be inserted when all else fails) and because it's so easily displaced, I expect it will eventually be bent or otherwise damaged from unintended movement. 3) I don't think "oil-rubbed bronze" is correctly understood in China, but the manufacturer's attempt to 'copper them up' a bit in the form of applying a copper-colored pinstripe around the control panel was at least a nod in the right direction. All black for such hardware must be a Chinese "thing." But bottom line now, at this point I'm happy with them The fingerprint reading works consistently, and as long as you've (mechanically) installed these carefully, such that there's not a lot of friction between the deadbolt and the strike when it's closed, the action is reliable (any "spring" in the door against the deadbolt will probably be too much for their tiny motors to overcome - but this is expected, and can be prevented by ensuring that your non-locking handle-set takes up any load from door warp, or smoke- or weather-seals). I was recently away and had a local emergency at the house, during which I was on the phone with my neighbors while trying to get them into the house. It took a painfully long time for them to succeed. Around that same time, I noticed that although I could monitor the locksets using SmartLife, I couldn't "operate" them remotely. If I'd had remote control, I could have just opened the door for neighbors to get in - but as it was, all I could do was watch from a separate security cam and try to coach them through the keypad entry to get them in. I mentioned this to the mfr in an email, and...they offered to send me a gateway that makes this possible, without charge. I very much appreciated this - and set it up the day I received it, which was easy (though I'll say that having SmartLife installed already vastly simplified that process.) I'd highly recommend purchase of the gateway along with this lockset. ------------------------------------------- Third revision 10-29-25: this vendor, and/or their customer interface (one Anne Hathaway...I mean, what are the odds?) have gone truly, terribly wrong. "Anne" fully understood my complaint - that I didn't want a pair or more locksets that couldn't be configured such that the interior lock knob is in a consistent position, whether vertical or horizontal, when locked or open. Because, well, obviously, if you've got these installed on multiple different-handed doors, you don't want to have to commit to memory that the patio door is locked when the knob is horizontal, but that's not the same as the front door, where it's gotta be vertical when it's locked, and...wait, I forgot, which way is it supposed to be when the back door is locked? Back in the good old days of August, before Anne was overtaken by AI hallucinations, she clearly indicated she understood my complaint, and when available, would send me an improved version of the same-looking lockset. She indicated that this had become a subject of customer complaints, so I wasn't alone. But fast-forward by a couple of months, and I'd still seen no replacement lockset, so I contacted Anne again. Perhaps she got busy on a film, or her agent convinced her that customer service just wasn't for her, and that her technical Mandarin just wasn't up to snuff? Anyway, SOMEONE, perhaps diabolically impersonating Ms. Hathaway, agreed to send me that long-awaited new-improved replacement, explaining that it is only available in a kit that included knobs or levers, and asking me which I would like. "Whatever," said I; I'm not going to use the lever *or* knob, since I've already installed those, and they were from another mfr. So imagine my bafflement when they sent me the IDENTICAL LOCKSET as the first two - with the addition of a a privacy knob set that I don't want or need. I fussed with it, started to install it, then did a side-by-side comparison with the last one. Soon, I was again complaining to them that they'd sent me the VERY SAME lockset as last time, months prior. Where was the "new improved" one? They then AGAIN tried to refer me to pages in their instruction booklet that explain - INCORRECTLY, STILL - the difference between LH and RH doors. I responded with an email in which I'd marked up their instruction book to correct it on that aspect. But that's beside the point; the complaint I had so clearly explained - and which Anne had, with perfect clarity, responded to, with no hint of hallucination or misunderstanding - had gone down a virtual garbage disposal. Their response was to email-attach a VIDEO, intended in part to explain to me the difference between a LH and RH door. I'll post a screen shot of this disinformation, but again, that's not the point. The point now is that they went on to confirm that they DO have a version of the lockset that isn't "handed" (so the lock position will look the same regardless of door hand) - and they want to SELL one to me. I've offered to buy it if they credit me for the two that I'm complaining about, which, of course, they can have back, along with the third also-wrong one. What are the odds this comes to a conclusion that's satisfactory? Wish I could take a poll with this review. ---------------------------------------------------------- I'm amending my initial review and upping my assessment: I *did* have a response from customer service by email, though it was certainly not at the speed suggested by "24/7 online..." That said, the responses (several) since then have been quick, helpful and to the point. If you're caught in the "how many digits" contradiction, as I was, I'm here to tell you that it's SIX, not the eight digits as covered in their video. It was also not clear in the video or elsewhere that you've got to touch the # key after entering your six digits /before it will unlock/ - also potentially confusing, because that # sign only appears when the keypad is backlit, and that happens for a limited duration - after which the "#" turns into a bell icon (which does NOT seem like something you'd want to touch, lest the cheesy low-fi alarm sound awaken everyone... within a four foot radius...) The other concern I voiced with CS was that the "handing" of a user's particular door installation quite awkwardly determines the orientation of this lockset's interior latch knob when locked or open. So if, like me, you've got these installed on two doors in close proximity, and they're differently handed, then one will be locked when that knob is "vertical," and the other when it's "horizontal." And if, like me, you've got a less-than-perfect memory, you're ALWAYS going to be less than sure of whether they're locked, or open - until you walk over to them and check. THAT OCD-promoting bit of non-engineering is not welcome. /But fear not/: the mfr acknowledged that this was a problem and that they're remedying with a more flexible version. (But really: it needn't have been that hard to see this coming, in my view. I mean, didn't they test these in a few installations before committing to production?) Finally, as I also complained previously, I'll never understand how it is that Chinese startups like this just can NOT seem to enlist the services of a native-English technical specialist to review (at minimum) and mark up their instruction manuals before they go to print. I'd have commented, for example, that they got the concept of door handing wrong (they've got "left" where it should be "right", would you believe...) And yes, that error will send you down a nasty time-wasting rabbit-hole, if you're trying to follow their printed instructions...until you either give up and send your lockset back to Amazon, or decide the instructions are just WRONG, or stop, reinstall your old lockset, and wait for them to get back to you. I'd also have said "do you REALLY think you're saving enough on printing costs (by printing the instructions on a quarter-sized sheet booklet) to offset the cost of all the returns that are going to result from people not being able to SEE the tiny, dim gray text without using their iPhone magnifiers?" Printed instructions, I should also mention, were a rabbit-hole themselves: the QR-coded video, once I got to it on my PC, via Amazon (where unlike with my smartphone, I could actually SEE THE IMAGES...) did a much better job of showing the process...even if it DOES still tell us that it's an eight-digit password. -----------initial review---------- One of the claimed features of this item is "[Exceptional Customer Support and Warranty】Backed by our 24/7 online customer service." I call BS on this. Where? Certainly has not been my experience. I emailed them a couple of days ago and can't find any other means to contact them - not on their Amazon page, either. I was on the last day to return, so I have set that up to give me another week, thinking maybe they'll finally respond and explain to me why their video shows a password length of EIGHT digits, while my latest-greatest Smartlife app only allows for SIX. Do I have to give up on using a password? That'd be a deal-breaker. And it'd be a shame, because it seems like a decently-made unit; working from SmartLife, the fingerprint programming worked impressively well (much like a smartphone app) and the "tiles" likewise...though that said, I don't really care for the cheesy-sounding toyish gear-noise when the lock is being electrically opened or closed. ... show more

  • Affordable and Functional (Potentially with Extra Steps)
Color: Matte Black Style: No Handle
My old door lock had a camera on it which wasn't very useful (my new home has a screen door that would block it anyway). The battery on the old one was constantly dying for the unused camera activating whenever someone came in or out but not when packages were dropped off and such. My husband took care of the installation, he said it was pretty easy to follow the directions in the booklet that comes with the item. One thing to note, my door opens on the right, this one was preset for the left, so it would think unlocked was locked and vice versa. There is a booklet with a QR code that explains how to swap this, unfortunately, I don't remember the exact steps. But those QR codes lead to several videos with step-by-step instructions for the installation itself, switching the lock side, and troubleshooting. Once connected, I added each person in the home and an emergency contact as the "users" and was able to pair the key fobs and add fingerprints just fine. The app can also be used for lock and unlock. I did disable the auto lock, as my front door is a bit wonky and has to be pulled harder to lock the deadbolt, but it is a nice feature to have for those who want to just close the door and leave without turning back around to lock (that's just a little lock button on the keypad so it doesn't take long either way.) There are also voice tones that exclaim whatever's happening "lock" "unlock" etc, and I wasn't a fan, but that can be disabled easily. ... show more
