  • Excellent Carbon Fiber Monopod – Lightweight, Stable, and Well Built
Size: 166.5cm / 65.6"
I’m very impressed with the SmallRig 166.5cm Carbon Fiber Monopod. The build quality is excellent, and the carbon fiber construction makes it lightweight while still providing great stability for my camera setup. It is easy to carry, quick to extend, and feels very solid when in use. The height range is perfect for a variety of shooting situations, and the adjustments are smooth and secure. The design is well thought out, with a premium feel that makes it a great companion for photography and video work. Overall, this is a high-quality monopod that delivers great value. It’s sturdy, portable, and performs exactly as expected. Highly recommended for photographers and content creators looking for a reliable support solution. ... show more

  • Lightweight, Stable and Proven With My Nikon Z8
Size: 166.5cm / 65.6"
I’ve owned this SmallRig carbon fiber tripod for about four months and have used it primarily for photography appointments, including weddings and sports. I’ve mounted my Nikon Z8 in a SmallRig Night Eagle cage with several lenses, including the 28mm f/2.8, 50mm, and 70-180mm f/2.8, and it hasn’t failed me yet. One of its biggest strengths is the combination of stability and portability. It’s lightweight enough that carrying it between locations isn’t a burden—I’ve jokingly used it as a walking stick—but it still feels secure with my Z8 setup mounted. It’s also flexible enough to work in smaller spaces, and setup and breakdown are a breeze. The ball head has worked well for photography, although I personally plan to switch to a video-style head for some of my work. I’ve also used the full 65.6” height during an indoor event. There was some wobble at maximum extension, which I expected, but nothing that changed my overall opinion of the tripod. My biggest wish is that it extended to around 72”, especially for event work where additional height can be useful. After four months of real-world use, I think it’s absolutely worth the price. For photographers looking for something lightweight, portable, easy to deploy, and capable of supporting a professional camera setup, this has been a very solid purchase. ... show more

  • Good value! Definite BUY!
Size: 166.5cm / 65.6"
If there were more stars, I'd give it more...like a 10! I LOVE purchasing things that are well engineered, functionally beyond expectations and a true asset to my photography! (I can use all the help I can get!) That equates to superb value. If you want to know what it does, simply read the description details as it does everything. Perfectly. The main thing that made me happy was the solidity of the unit. I'm using a Nikon Z8 with the 180-600 with no problems. It simply takes common sense regarding HOW you make it work. IMHO, buy this. My engineering hat tips to SmallRig, once again. Nice work! ... show more

  • Great concept. I hope it performs over time.
Size: 166.5cm / 65.6"
So far ...so good. I love the easy adjustment monopod leg. I just hope it holds up over time. It's a bit heavy, especially for a graphite leg mono but it seems very heavy-duty with no slippage of the sections, so far. I replaced the tripod head with a much more durable model, especially after reading so many bad reviews about it breaking with cameras with large lenses. The feet seem very well made and heavy duty but I opted for a rubber foot on mine. ... show more

  • Excellent Tripod Head with Smooth Performance
Size: 175cm / 68.9"
Overall, this is an excellent product and offers great value for the price. The build quality feels solid, the controls are easy to use, and it performs well for both photography and video work. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the video head feels a bit stiff, even when the drag adjustment is fully loosened. It’s not a major issue, but I would have preferred slightly smoother movement with less resistance. That said, stability is excellent, the head feels secure, and the overall quality exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable tripod setup. ... show more

  • A great monopod!!
Size: 166.5cm / 65.6"
Normally, I use a tripod or a monopod, especially when shooting from a blind or other stationary position. This SmallRig changes up my new practice. The legs stabilize, obviously, a monopod. The method of raising or lowering the camera is so very convenient. With my other tripods or monopod it is troublesome to change height when needed. And the tripods take up more space on the ground. The SmallRig is build well and sturdy. And actually, I am using the 68.9"/ 175cm Carbon Fiber Video Monopod. This larger version has a more easily adaptable disconnects for using the lowest setting. And the means of swiveling is easier. ... show more

  • Piece of garbage damaged my $15,000 camera setup.
Size: 166.5cm / 65.6"
First of, I like the monopod itself. It seems to be quality. The arca swiss mount is horrible though. It dropped my $15,000 camera setup 5 feet to the ground, permanently damaging the lens mount on my Canon 1DX mark III. Luckily my lens still seems to work but the camera is very damaged. I was under the weight limit and had the camera tightened down plenty. Not sure if I’m just screwed due to this horrible company and their false claims. I should have listened to the review of the guy with the Z9 doing the same thing. ... show more
