  • Best video tripod for the price
As a self-employed videographer, I am always on the looking out quality equipment at a good price and this tripod did not disappoint. It is plenty sturdy to support a DSLR rig, and it has more than enough variation in height to suit all my video needs, from interviews to events. The head is easy to level, and the pan and tilt is fairly smooth but not perfect. If you are going to be following lots of motion, it might be worthwhile to invest in a higher quality tripod head, but if you are mostly going to be shooting static shots, than the stock head is more than adequate. I also really appreciate that this tripod uses a standard Manfrotto plate instead of a proprietary plate, meaning that I can easily switch between this and my other tripods without issue. I do find that the screws holding the central stabilizer braces can come loose, and do require the occasional bit of tightening, but at this price, this is not enough to ding it for. Just keep an extra baggy of screws and nuts in your gear bag, just in case. All said, I cannot imagine finding a better tripod than this for the price. I have bought two of them already, and would not hesitate to buy more if the need ever arises. ... show more

  • PROFESSIONAL QUALITY PRODUCT, at a competitive buget price. 72" HIGH ROBUST BUILT, TOP PERFORMING VIDEO TRIPOD
Yes, I did receive the Cayer BV30L Video Tripod Kit in perfect condition. In fact, the tripod kit was delivered two days earlier than the estimated delivery date. If that's not enough for excellent customer service, please know that I ordered the tripod kit on Saturday night, May 26, 2018, which was during the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend. On Monday, May 28, Memorial Day, the United States Postal Service delivered the tripod kit at 2:56 PM, Pacific Time. Great Job! You may be interested why I bought the Cayer BV30L Video Tripod Kit instead of one of your competitor's products. In order of importance and priority: 1. 72" tripod height (this is a MUST have for me - Video Recording) 2. $139.98 Best price for the high quality value of product received 3. Robust construction that includes fluid ball head. You also may be interested to know, from a source perspective, how did I learn about the Cayer BV30L Video Tripod Kit. On YouTube of course! I typed in the following search term on YouTube: "72 inch video tripod". The FIRST video listed was: Budget Video Tripod? The Cayer BV30L 72 inch Aluminum Twin Tube Tripod, posted by Millennial Review on March 14, 2018 (recent!) The tripod kit truly is a professional quality product at a budget price: 1. Overall robust construction 2. Twist knobs on tripod legs for easy and quick set up and take down. 3. Fluid ball head that rides and glides smooth as silk. 4. Convenient handle grip under the ball head for easy moving and repositioning of tripod. 5. Bonus: extra quick release plate to mount VideoCam or Camera 6. Bonus: 2 hex keys to tighten hex screws on tripod legs 7. Bonus: durable construction carrying bag with inside pocket. There's more to like about this wonderful product, like the 8 year warranty, but you get the idea from the above customer evaluation. This product performed superb while I was on location for video recordings. A dependable and reliable video tripod is critical and essential for a successful photography/videography experience, whether it be professional, amateur, or hobbyist. Keep up the good work! • The best pan/tilt tripod for the money
I have owned this tripod for over six years and it NEVER disappoints. It looks like it would cost 2-3 times as much based on the quality and durability of this amazing tripod. Pros & Cons: Pros: - It is a very solid tripod and made with very high quality. - The height of this tripod makes it my #1 for multi-camera video shoots. I can have it very high and tilted down for my talking head video shoots. - The bag is so nice and very durable as well. - The pan/tilt head has so many options. Cons: - The only con is the tilt/pan head is still pretty stiff to move. It’s a great very inexpensive tripod. ... show more

  • Sturdy
I use with my spotting scope. Very sturdy, and heavy, tripod. Locks tight. Only drawback is the only height adjustment is adjusting the length of the legs. The center post is fixed, so fine height adjustments are a bit tricky. Due to it's weight I would want to carry it too far.

  • Cayer BV30L - Inexpensive Video Tripod that gets the job done
The Cayer BV30L is a well made video tripod. It is stable and has good dampening. The tripod is very stable, but not especially easy to move around. It is very good for a fixed position camera. It also has good rubber feet, no spiked feet for outdoor use are included. The lateral dampening is perhaps a bit stiff, but makes for smooth panning. The maximum height is just right, it gives a stable POV just above most peoples heads, giving a clear view over standing or walking people. The stability opens up more possibilities than video, such as time-lapse photography or long exposure times. Pros: This tripod is Stable with a capital "S"! No additional weight is needed to hold it down. The inclusion of an extra mounting plate and wrenches is a great bonus as is the inclusion of a wrench stored right where you need it on the tripod head. The included, padded carry bag is well balanced and has an internal pocket for the spare plate, wrenches and what have you. The tripod need no disassembly to fit in the carry bag, only the panning lever needs to be folded down. All of the parts fit and work well, the adjustments work smoothly and securely. Cons: Not easy to move about or to make even small changes in height while filming. For this, you would need a different, likely less stable tripod. Not especially compact or lightweight, it would not be a good choice for a long hike on foot. Overall, the Cayer BV30L is an excellent tripod for fixed position video work. It provides a very stable platform with smooth panning for any camera you're likely to throw at it. It is my best tripod for video work. ... show more

  • Super mighty impressed - perfect for recording your kids' games
I am Engineer, with little video experience. We bought this tripod to record Pop Warner football for our team. We looked at the local photography store, and this tripod is at least as nice as those three or more times as expensive ones. This tripod is no gimmick. As an Engineer, comparing those I saw in the store, my opinion is that this tripod is meant for the professional videographer. This is no amateur, or starter gear, although super easy to use for beginners as well. We are now using it for two months and eight games in various settings, from fancy video box, to speaker tower, to shaky scaffolding, on bouncy bleachers, in heavy Texas rain and blistering sun, and on the muddy turf. It can be put up within minutes, and is rock solid. Even being on the speaker tower with the whole thing shaking from the bass of the loudspeakers, this tripod did not flinch. Same thing with kids running and jumping on the bouncy bleachers. Material is casted and milled aluminium, extruded aluminium piping, and hard plastic with all stainless steel screws. No worries of rusting. The workflow is, you extent first section legs, and if needed second section to the degree you need it. You adjust ballhead to level. Adjust pan-handle to your requirements, mount camera to plate, and adjust sled so that camera tilt is level depending on your position over the field. The drag for the pan and tilt is medium (compared to what I tested in the store of big-name brands) and cannot be adjusted. It works very well with DSLR and tele-zoom lens. Movement is smooth and I would say slightly progressive. Tripod folds down into bag, within three minutes. It does not feel too heavy to carry, but I would not take it on long hikes. Planing to mount monitor onto head, but have not done this, yet. I subtracted one quality star as the first one had a machining issues that made head movement "crunchy" at times when. Seller replaced within days, ready for us for the next game. Second one arrived perfect. Very nice attention to details in machining otherwise. ... show more

  • Great Inexpensive Tripod/Fluid Head for DSLRs
Executive Summary: This is a sturdy, well-made tripod/fluid head for an amazing low price. I needed a video tripod to film a music recital for my daughter-in-law. It was to be held in a mid-size auditorium in Washington, DC. I used my Fuji X-H1 with my Canon EF 70-200 lens. The Cayer performed great, easily supporting my rig and providing a rock-solid image. I selected the Cayer because it uses a ball base, which makes fine tuning the level very easy. The ball base worked well, making setup quick and easy. The legs are sturdy and the locks are strong. The fluid head is nice and smooth and the pan and tilt lock work great. The plate is large and balancing the camera on the head was easy. When I filmed, I was at medium to long telephoto and the movements were smooth. Be aware that the pan is not as smooth as the tilt. If you are looking for an inexpensive solution that can stand light to moderate use, this fits the bill. Based on my prior experience with television and motion picture cameras, mostly using Miller heads, I don't think this would stand up to hard or heavy use. Still it is well worth the price. ... show more

  • Tall, Sturdy, and Afordable
The BV30L is very well built, quality materials, does not seem cheap in any way. All of the sliders and locks for the legs work with ease, that K3 fluid head seems to work very well, only time will tell how it stands up to time. On received the BV30, it made a impressive first impression. The case that come with it is more than ample. I use this mainly for stills, I do mainly outdoors shots, wildlife, wild flowers, animals and the such along with some video. The BV30L is a bit heavy, (almost 9 lbs, and for this type of tripod it not over weight) that was a plus to me. I wanted some thing that would stay stable in the wind with long lenses and so far its worked very well. Its stable, easy to setup, easy to level and use. True its a bit heavy but no more then my normal tripod with a wight to help stabilize, (I could use my backpack on my current tripod but there is a need to get in the bag for a lens, battery, or something). At a max height of 72" means no more sore back from bending over all the time. Also when photographing a large group I can get high enough to get every one with ease. I find the fluid head much faster and easier to use then my current ball head, especially if I move around a lot. (but both have their place and use) Over all, for the money I don't think it can be beat ... show more
