  • Very stable, Very sturdy, Very well-made!
This tripod is great for heavy equipment mounting! Because of its height, azmouth, and elevation adjustments, it is perfect for my Celestron SkyMaster 25x100 binocular star gazing. Because this tripod can handle loads up to 13 pounds, I have found it to be quite stable with this nearly 9 pound binocular mounted on it! This tripod outperforms even Celestrons tripod, (which has a weight rating of only 10 pounds)! ... show more

  • For the price I would take it again
Tripod was pretty easy to assemble even without the manual. For the price I would admit that it was better than I expected and the fluid head feels pretty good. Smooth and nice pan and tilt. I would invest in another Cayer tripod especially if there is another product better that the one I have.

  • Great value
I'm not a professional but needed something sturdy and tall to use for camcorder at church. This tripod will serve our needs for an economical tripod. Great tripod for the price.

  • More Pros Than Cons
Yes, I read all of the reviews before choosing to purchase this tripod/head. TBH, the smoothness of the head drag was the most important to me, so the head had to function as advertised. It didn't. The (first) head I received with the sticks was horrendous - like unusable, both pan and tilt. The tilt knob neither slowed nor locked tilt, and the pan movement felt like driving on a gravel road. I have no idea how any manufacturing company would allow this to leave their factory. So when I wrote directly to the seller (Cayer), they immediately apologized and sent me a brand new replacement head at no charge to me (and I didn't even have to return the bad head) which I received within three days. And the replacement is better than any fluid head I've used, anywhere near this price range - just like it was supposed to be in the first place. So while I think this is a killer tripod and head for the money, and their customer service is excellent, I had to deduct one star for a problem that shouldn't have existed in the first place. If you choose to buy this tripod, just consider that the seller will step up to make you happy with the purchase if anything goes wrong. ... show more

  • Fantastic tripods for the price
We have 8 of these to film high school and youth sports. They work really well and have held up through lots of use. We use Sony AX100's, AX43, AX53's on them and they work great.

  • Very Impressed
It's very sturdy and weighs just a few more pounds than my previous tripod. The fluid head feels smooth while panning in all directions. I love the size and width of the plate. The bag or case it came in is vastly superior to that of any Neewer bag. This bag is the perfect size and somewhat padded. My only recommendation would be if the feet were articulating so that they would provide a little better grip on an uneven surface. Also, I don't know if this is an updated version but the spreader is easily removeable with an allen wrench. It sounds like Cayer does listen to their customers. I'm very very impressed and for the $129 I spent, this has to be one of the best deals on Amazon. Based on price history from camelcamelcamel dot com, this is a perfect time for upgrading your previous tripod or adding a beast to your collection. What does Captain Picard say...? Oh yeah. WELL DONE! ... show more

  • NOTHING beats this for the price point
Tripod stands can vary in price from $20 to $30,000 for super high end. For its class- best for the money I've ever owned. this 7 foot tripod supplied the height and stability I needed for a Canon G50. I own 3 G50s. I compared this to a Mafrotto I own on my last stream shoot, and I will buy this one again as there's not enough difference to justify the Manfrotto price Pont. The head motion is surprisingly smooth. simple sled slide in, and locks solid. the locks on the leg extentions seem solid, we will see after 10 or more shows. the height is always a concern with stability. it was fine, no wobble with tubed metal .... only reason I gave a 4 star on stability were the feet. what would earn the 5th star from me is a more significant footprint . The feet seemed small for the height and don't appear to be fat enough to create what the Manfrotto equivalent. Nor does it appear to be solid enough to last... I could be wrong. Will see. But my impression overall is that it's well worth the money... And nothing beats it. I will buy a second one this week. the 7 foot height is ideal to avoid using a spyder. Can't say enough good stuff about this stand ... show more

  • Great tripod
Very nicely built tripod. I’m no tripod expert, but this one by far is the best one I’ve had. Well done!
