  • Great tripod for a larger camera rig for a reasonable price!
Style: AD-01
Great tripod! Very happy with this. The panning head is very smooth and the tripod can hold a heavy camera rig. It’s very easy to set up and comes with a great bag. The handle is adjustable and removable. The only downside is that is cannot get very low to the ground (expected for a tripod like this). But if you need a tripod that can get to ground level, this isn’t it. Can go pretty high though! ... show more

  • Put a camera on it!
Style: AD-01
You need a tripod. The tripod needs to be able to handle your camera. This can handle a lot of weight. The tilt adjustment adds a fair amount of friction and feels great. Pan adjustment is either locked or free movement with no friction, so it’ll be wild and takes a bit finesse and a light touch. I have used it for two gigs now with my c300mkii and it handles it well. It goes plenty tall and is nearly weightless in comparison to my old beast of a manfrotto tripod. A breath of fresh air really. So all in all it’s a great tripod at an insanely low price that is built well enough to live in my kit for decades. If you’re the type of filmmaker who thrashes gear to death then you may want something a bit more robust. But also you should sit down and meditate on why you treat your gear like it’s rented and you have a vendetta against the producers to the point where you are insistent on leaving them with a massive L&D bill at the end of the show. Why are you like this??? And then… buy this tripod and treat it like it deserves to be respected, as do all the pieces of gear in your kit. So in closing: great tripod, great price, treat it well and it will return the favor. ... show more

  • Best “Entry” Level Video Tripod
Style: AD-01
The media could not be loaded. Purchased on sale during prime day and couldn’t be happier! I needed a more sturdy video tripod for my heavy lenses and required it to still be portable. The tripod is absolutely heavy but the carry case it comes with makes it extremely versatile. Quality is top tier which you come to expect from SmallRig products. Size adjustments are very quick to make and it’s also very easy to get this thing over 6ft in seconds. Overall, for the price I believe it’s one of the best “entry” level video tripods on the market right now I only wish the legs weren’t connected so you could get this tripod extremely low to the ground. At its lowest size you’re about waist height. ... show more

  • Love this inexpensive but heavy duty tripod!
Style: AD-01
Manfroto what? As you can see I don't have an expensive tripod because I probably spelled that wrong. I know what those expensive tripods are like because I've used them before but this sub $150 does the job just fine! If you want fast get the sachtler flowtech75 and spend 2k+. This sets up faster than some of those more collapsible tripods with multiple locks so I'm already faster then most tripods when setting up... Plus it holds a good amount of weight. ... show more

  • Great Value for the Money
Style: AD-01
I do love this tripod and use it regularly. I put a Sony FX3, with cage, monitor, v-mount battery, and sometimes matte box and audio, and have put a slider to. So, it handles a nice weight on it, it is heavy duty. At some point, I had to re-tighten the hardware on the legs, as they started to slip a bit and not lock. Not a deal-breaker. So now and then I check them and tighten them if needed with the small-rig pocket tool (also a cool item!) My ONLY major con is that the head unit's bowl has started to stick or drag. So when I go to balance the camera it sticks and does not adjust smoothly, that is a major drawback and almost led me to put a 3 star. ANY COMMENT from SmallRig with a fix for this would be fantastic. Not sure if I can open it up and put some lub? It seems the friction there has become too much for smooth adjustment. ... show more

  • Good tripod
Style: AD-01
Good all-around tripod , the head is smooth and holds my DSLR with a heavy lens well. I also have the A.D. 100 and I tend to use this one more.

  • Not well assembled.
Style: AD-01
Overall OK. But the screws and bolts for the support diver come out too easily.
