NO FUNNY SMELLS AT ALL
Size: 14.2" Dia
I bought this as my 1st stone likely last one I ever buy unless I drop & break it:) this thing is perfect I bake a pizza, homemade in 8 minutes at 500* F I heat to 500* then let heat sock in for 15 minutes after hitting 500* cook for 4 min, then turn pizza 180* & another 4 min, done! BAM best pizza ever. to clean all I do is turn over to self clean, think mine runs 4 hours, burns off all spills & looks as new. saw that on youtube. NO FUNNY SMELLS AT ALL saw lots of stones & lots of reviews saying smelly this 1 seemed to have good reviews & seller replies were nice & courteous thx for making a great stone:) update: still 5 stars! had this like 1 year or so. still works great, never had 1 before this, never made pizzas at home before,............WISH I STARTED SOONER :) home made are the best. I turn my oven to 550* cook 6 minutes total,3 min then turn 180* 3 more. stone will come out clean after a self clean cycle in my oven, that is 4-6 hours can't remember, nothing but ash is left from pizza spills, I use parchment paper so pizza slides off the peel. check out youtube for how to videos I also use crushed tomatoes & blend up with this "Just Add Tomatoes Pizza Sauce Seasoning Mix" search that on here & you will find it. best pizza Sause I have had ... show more

Very thick
Size: 15" Dia
Very thick. Works well. Let it heat up for a while. A laser thermometer is strongly advised.

Instant Artisan!
Size: 15" x 15" x 0.67" Natural
This was my first time using a pizza stone or making pizza for that matter. Bought this one after reading a review on a homemade dough recipe site. I followed all of the well-laid instructions, heating the stone in a 500 degree oven for sufficient time. The pizza turned out beautifully. This first time, I cooked the pizza at 400 for 13 minutes after adding the ingredient. It was delicious, but the crust was a bit cracker-like. The second time, I cooked the pizza at 500 degrees for 7-8 minutes, as suggested on the directions. The crust was just the right amount of golden and crisp, but not crunchy. Fantastic! I am so happy with this purchase and see myself experimenting with many different recipes and variations in the future. Some of the dough did stick, so it took a little extra time to clean it, but there are suggestions about what to do to prevent sticking and staining. I don't mind the staining. I figure it will season the stone and give it character. ... show more

Why are there handle indentations on top?
Size: 12.6" x 12.6" x 0.6" Natural
It's a good durable stone that I've been using for years. The built-in handle indentations on the bottom are a nice feature, but the handle indentations on the top make no sense. They awkwardly reduce the usable cooking surface and I can't imagine how they would ever be useful.

K ROCKSHEAT Cordierite stone is good for indoor or outdoor cooking.
Size: 15" Dia
We have owned a Pampered Chef 15" pizza stone for about over 25 years. Used with frequency for breads, warming food dishes and of course pizzas and Stromboli's. We needed another one for occasions when one stone is not enough, so I looked at prices, read about Cordierite stones and decided to give it a try for our next round of pizza gatherings. The price was the clincher, quite a bit less than what alternative brands had to offer. The Cordierite stone is a bit thicker and heavier than our Pampered Chef stone but the storage space in our pan pantry is equally accommodating. ... show more

15" pizza stone
Size: 15" Dia
Love the pizza stone. It is a bit large for my outdoor grill with the griddle installed but not an issue on top of the grates. It does discolor or get stains but these don't effect the stone.

Moderately disappointed with purchase
Size: 11" Dia
I was really looking forward to using the pizza stone. It fit perfectly within my toaster oven, it looked good, and it was lightweight enough that I found it easy to use. However, even though I followed the directions by preheating the stone and thawing the frozen pizza, the crust was, sadly, still soggy. I tried it again, this time cooking the pizza using the convection oven setting and the crust was crisper than the first time. But, it still wasn't as crisp as I hoped it would be. All in all, if I had known how disappointed I would be in the results, I would have saved my money by not making this purchase. ... show more
