This review is for the SLSON brand 5.5 oz Cat Canned Food Storage Containers (2 pack). My cat is a fussy eater, so I often have opened cans of food in the fridge. I typically use the plastic or silicone lids you can buy at pet stores to cover the cans between meals. These nice little SLSON 5.5 oz Cat Canned Food Storage Containers are a nice alternative for such lids, because they fit a typical 5.5 ounce food can. The 4 hinges on the lid snap down snugly. This doesn’t really solve the problem (in my cat’s opinion) that is the same one as using a lid on the open can: air still gets to the food because there is a gap between the food and the leftovers. For most cats I've owned, the food that has been exposed to air is somehow altered to make it unappealing, like avocado flesh is to people. To help prevent this, I usually directly cover the top of the food with a small piece of waxed paper then put on a lid or put the food in this SLSON container. Plastic wrap is also suitable for this, although I am trying to eliminate any type of plastic from touching my food, or that of my pets. Thus, although you could put food directly into these SLSON brand cat food containers (versus the open can), I would not. If plastics leaching into food is bad for people, it’s likely no good for small animals. Scraping out and cleaning these containers would inevitably lead to small scratches that promote this. The hinges are thin enough to be flexible so they are convenient to snap down. I have similar hinged lids on a number of other (human) food containers, and eventually they break. They should last a long time, but I can’t comment on the durability yet so you can take that into consideration. Of course, these little containers can also be used for other small non-food items, for which they can be quite handy!

As a pet owner, I never realized that a product like this even existed. Ever since I came across this set they have made a surprisingly big difference in keeping my cat’s food fresh and my fridge odor free. The first thing I noticed is how well these lids seal. The airtight snap lock design really does its job. Once the lid is on, there’s no lingering cat food smell escaping into the fridge. That alone makes them worth it. I also love that they’re specifically sized for the common 5.5 oz cans. The fit is snug and secure, so I don’t have to worry about the lid slipping off or leaking. It’s a small detail, but it makes everyday feeding routines much cleaner and easier. Compared to using foil or plastic wrap, this is a huge upgrade in convenience. Another big plus is the durability. The material feels sturdy and well made, and the snap lock mechanism is easy to use without feeling flimsy. Unlike some softer silicone covers, these feel more structured and reliable, which gives me confidence they’ll last a long time with regular use. Cleaning is super simple too. I can quickly rinse them off or toss them in the dishwasher, and they’re ready to go again. This set keeps food fresh, eliminates fridge odors, and makes feeding time more organized and hassle free. I honestly wish I had bought these sooner. I highly recommend.

They work. Cans do fit just a bit of a challenge to remove, it's easier to store the food in without the can. They seal properly. The material is thinner, a little flimsier than I expected . The food seems fresher using the containers then leaving in a can with a cover. I do recommend them

Love these cat food containers. My cat goes between the typical 5.5 ounce wet food cans and the smaller size. Usually we use the plastic snap on lids you get from the grocery store, but those don't work of course for the smaller cans and we end up using saran wrap. With these, we can fit either size can inside. The lid fits on tightly, keeping moisture and freshness inside. The quality is stiff plastic, not silicone (wish an upgrade could be made to food safe silicone) with a tight four closure seal on the lid. They are easy to clean, and a great addition to our routine. The colors are also easy on the eyes. Would recommend.

These silicone cat food holders solved a problem for me. I feed a few outdoor cats and there are times when not all of the cats are out there at once. So I don’t always need to use a full can of food. Being able to refrigerate half of a can is very handy! You can use these holders with the can inside, or you can add the food directly into the holder and keep it sealed until you need it. I use Purina Friskies Gravy Wet Cat Food in the 5.5 oz cans, and they fit perfectly. There was no manufacturing smell to them, and they washed up perfectly in the dishwasher (top rack). The product information states that they are dishwasher safe but then also says they are handwash only so that was confusing. But there was no warping or melting after the normal dishwasher session. My husband cannot stand the smell of cat food, and he did not make any funny faces or remarks on any smells after he opened the fridge – so they must work well to contain the smell!
