I don’t usually leave reviews, but this product has genuinely made such a difference that I felt like I should. I have two cats with very different dietary needs. One has GI issues and has to eat expensive prescription food, while my other cat is a total glutton who desperately needed to lose weight. I originally looked at the microchip feeders, but I just couldn’t justify spending twice as much. I found these instead, but after reading some of the negative reviews, I was a little hesitant. I’m so glad I took the chance. We’ve been using these feeders for about five months now, and they’ve worked flawlessly. My overweight cat has actually lost weight because he can’t steal his sister’s prescription food anymore, and my cat with GI issues is finally able to eat the food she needs without interference. The app is fantastic. I can see how many times each cat eats throughout the day, how much they’ve eaten, and it even notifies me when food is running low. I’ve also seen people mention clogging issues, but in my experience, the only time I get a clog notification is when one of my cats leaves food sitting in the bowl too long. Once they finish eating, everything goes right back to normal. For anyone who has multiple cats on different diets, these feeders are worth every penny. They’ve saved me money on prescription food, helped one cat lose weight, and given me peace of mind knowing both cats are eating exactly what they should. I would absolutely buy them again and highly recommend them!

These are 4.5 stars. There are a few glitches that can be worked around. Overall good feeder. First, the stupid tag and collar. I hate them. I don't like the collar because it is far too difficult to get undone. I can't imagine putting it on a cat and trying to take it off without strangling the cat. I bought 2 sets of feeders they came with slightly different collars, but both sets of collars were equally difficult to get undone. I bought 2 RFID tags from somewhere else (you have to get the right kind or they will never connect, but say they did), the ones I bought work well, and they hang down lower, which brings me to the second issue. Second, 2 feeders do well with the tags (the ones the feeders came with or the ones I bought separate) just dangling higher in front of the feeder. However, 2 of the feeders did not work like that. The feeders would not open unless the tag was touching or almost touching the pad. That isn't the way that's supposed to go because when the cat goes to eat, the tag is not touching anymore. I had to add a 1" loose leaf binder ring to the tags so they would hang down low enough. I feel like this is not a permanent solution, but it works for now and doesn't seem to have interfered with their bathing. The little dry bags are not necessary to buy if you don't put a ton of food in at a time (but who wouldn't fill it all the way up?) I have had a non-RFID feeder that I never put a dry packet in for and the food never went bad or moldy, so I will see what happens. Maybe the tank is different than the other one? Setup was really easy and quick. Zero issues. I thiught there were issues when the door wouldn't stay open for the cat, but that is not a setup issue. I wish the app would let you permanently decline the service they try to sell you, or even snooze it for 30 days. It gets irritating if you tap on something and then it suggests a subscription. I have had the foo(Solid Gold Everyday Nutrition) jam in the shoot. If that happens, clear the jam, then do a manual feed, too. I have seen other cats go to other feeders, get confused, and tey to open the other feeder by different means. They could not get in. We had old RFID feeders without a hopper, and those worked well until the dogs realized if they just shoved the cat out of the way and shoved their own head in and did noy remove their head until they were done, they could eat all the cat food. That is not the case with these feeders. They could get a little food, but the door gently pushes under the snout. The only option for the dog is to try to flip the door before it fully closes, to keep the door from latching. I don't knkw how well that would work out for them. They have not attempted that. The hopper holds a decent amount of food. The old non-RFID feeder was diuble the size and feeding 2 cats, so this is about right, you would want to check the food every so often anyway. And, the dish has little side walls, so the prevents unwanted sniffers from getting into the food while the cat is still sitting there. The display is kind of cool because you can change it to a picture or change it to the cat's name. I have it on the name because there are 4 feeders and I need to remember which one gets the prescription food. The display IS nice to have, but it isn't anything fancy. Just basic dot clusters for the display. I like the stainless steel dish, and that it's removable. Now I get to see if the weird chin stuff on one of the cats has to do with the dish he had previously been eating out of. The app is really nice. The non-RFID feeder worked with an app, but would not tell me if the food ran out. It let me schedule feedings and notified me of jams. The Petlibro lets me set up feeding schedules, manually feed, manually open the lid change the name on the LED, and tells me if the food is out. Only issue is with clearing a jam. I cleared a jam on one feeder and the app said it was clear, but the feeder, itself, said it was still jammed. I did a manual feed and that cleared the error message on the feeder. Portions. The portions of food are odd. They almost seem like too much food. My chunky cat (13 lbs British Shrot Hair/Scottish Fold) cannot keep up on the volume of food a 1/2 cup per day. That would be 2 feedings at 3/12. I have to turn her feeding schedule off until she catches up. I haven't tried to change the meal call, and actually never hear it, so I don't know how it sounds or if it does anything. I do know the cats can hear the food dispensing because I can check their eating history and see that they went right after food was dispensed. The eating history on the app is nice. I've had to tell a vet if a cat has stopped eating or decreased, and you can tell by the history if they are eating less or about the same. This is helpful. If my litter robots break, I may try the Petlibro litter box, and just be full circle with their product line. For sure having a litter box that weighs the cats has been useful for telling a vet when the started losing weight and having it all in one spot would be fantastic. So far, good product, with minor mods for the RFID tags, and I would not use the collar the tags come with. All 4 were difficult to undo.

These feeders are working well and giving my cats what they need with some irritations surrounding the dispensed amounts. Pros: - Arrived quickly - Easy to put together - Easy to setup - Works well - Love the phone app! Cons: - The smallest dispensed amount shows as 1/12 cup which would be perfect if it was truly 1/12 of a cup. I originally set it up for 6 feedings per day which would have been a half cup of food per day for each cat. Perfect. Except the "1/12" cup is really closer to 1/4 to 1/3 cup by volume so I was way overfeeding my cats! Luckily I realized it pretty early on so I changed the feeding schedule to twice per day. One cat always has food in her dish but the one I have to watch for obesity is always looking for more food. I would prefer to give him smaller meals 4-6 times per day but the feeder will not dispense a smaller amount. This is the reason for the 4 star review. This is really disappointing. I think he'd be happier "grazing" several times per day if I could do this with this feeder. - The feeders are expensive - The collars that come with the device are terrible. I replaced them with breakaway collars I purchased. I just put the sensor on the new collars - the feed doors are slow to close so if you have a sneaky cat or dog hanging around nearby, they may be able to snatch a few bites before the door closes. - this feeder requires a collar sensor. I find myself wishing I could have found one that works by sensing the cat's microchip. All in all these feeders are doing what I needed which was to feed different food to each cat without my dog stealing it. In this they are working. I just wish they would dispense smaller amounts so I could feed more times per day. I attached a picture of a 1/3 measuring cup. It is hard to see but that cup is nearly full. It is dispensing way more than 1/12 of a cup.

We are no stranger to auto dog feeders, so this is a review from an auto feeder connoisseur of sorts that will go through all of the pros and cons. The only competition to compare this with is the Portion ProRx (PPRx) feeder that we have had for many years now and have honestly been hoping something better would come along that whole time. This feeder is the answer to those prayers both dispensing and protecting the food between a grazer and a gordo pet...this feeder blows PPRx out of the water when it comes to app, ease of use, noise level and reliability. When I make any comparisons or feedback it will be a direct comparison with the PPRx feeder. I accidentally ordered the former version of this feeder and the 'upgraded' version. As far as I could tell there was no difference in the machine but the RFID tag was smaller on the 'upgraded' version. I ran a test and came to find that the bigger RFID was actually more sensitive and better for dogs. I say that because the smaller tag required the pet to be closer to the sensor mat and though cats may be down closer naturally to that, dogs stand a bit more upright and would have to almost hunch down for it to sense it which is unrealistic unless they are as small as a standard cat. I think it would be smart of the company to offer the two different sizes of tags for this reason...have a larger 'dog' sized tag for a bigger radius and the smaller tag for cats. My dogs are two Italian greyhounds for reference, which are skinny and tall compared to cats...but they eat a small enough amount every day that this bowl works. I would not suggest it for any pet that eats more than a cup a day unless they are veracious eaters and will consume as soon as it dispenses, as the bowl is somewhat shallow and fills quickly. Here is a list of pros and cons. The 'cons' are moreso feedback about what the company could improve in the future, not dealbreakers, as this feeder gets high marks all around so far compared to cumbersome PPRx. Pros: - Quiet as a mouse: The door effortlessly glides open and shut silently which is great for apprehensive pets. Food dispensing rattles a bit on the metal bowl but no more than it would if you poured it by hand. - Software and setup is unmatched: I absolutely LOVED setting these bowls up...SO easy. The PPRx has a notoriously horrible manual entry and no app that I dreaded each time I needed to change anything. Not Petlibro, they have a beautiful phone app that has everything you could ever want on it including setting up a feeding schedule within minutes and perfect measurements for hefty pets you need accuracy with to help lose a few (lookin' at you Zoey). It also shows you a clear history of food dispensed and when your pet stopped by and for how long which is amazing. - RFID tag is light as a feather: PPRx had a GIANT tag that a lot of pets couldn't even lug around, they just recently modified it and their new upgrade is like the older version of the bigger Petlibro tag. Like I mentioned, the older tag is in fact bigger, but it's not much heavier, both small and big are light and airy and neither bothered my small skinny dogs at all. The small tag would be well suited for cats. - Versatile and Highly Customizable: In the app you have many great personal modifications which are super helpful. You can make the bowl open or close faster or slower. This is great for more skittish pets that you don't want the bowl to close hastily while stepping away and create a bad experience for them in doing so. Or if you have a gordo pet, such as myself, you can have it snap close faster than they can move their fat butts to the bowl to try and steal (lookin' at you Zoey). - Airtight seal on food. One thing I have hated about all of the auto dispensers we've had is the lid not providing a silicone seal at the top. Imagine leaving cereal in a tupperware unsealed, it would definitely lose it's flavor and go stale. This feeder has almost a suction seal to it both on the lid of the food storage bin AND in the bowl. It's all very airtight so it will keep kibble fresher longer for picky pets. -Turnstyle feeder vs a belt: Nothing made me more mad about the PPRx feeder than the belt dispensing system. It was finicky and designed to fail resulting in missed feedings and panic by the time you realized it not knowing how long it had been failing for, then having to buy a replacement constantly. Petlibro has a foolproof turnstyle dispenser that is less likely to break or get clogged for any reason, and even if it does it will send an alert to your phone immediately if anything is amiss which is a great peace of mind. It also sends an alert when food is low. - Battery Backup: This has a battery backup for power outages which PPRx does not. If wifi connection is lost it still has the programmed settings and will keep the scheduled feedings on it and running if there are batteries (you have to buy and install). -Price: Absolutely a steal of a deal compared to PPRx. I was able to get 2 Petlibro for less than the price of one PPRx feeder and they are sleek, well built and just as high of quality if not better. Cons/Moreso Improvements I'd love to see to perfect things: - Bigger food storage bin: Unit all around could be a bit bigger to hold more food and have a little bit deeper dish. If they continue to market these for dogs it will be a necessity as they eat a bit more and need the extra storage. - Better RFID tag options: the current tag is 'okay', but I would love to see it not be as hollow and 'plastic' sounding. It clanks around quite a bit when your dog is running at all. Even a silicon cover option to buy additionally would be great to cover, protect and stop the clanking. More variety of colors would be great too, would love to be able to buy different colors and sizes (Large or small) of the tags. - Recognize more than one tag: It would be nice to be able to program the feeder in a variety of ways with different pet's RFID tags. - Add an 'Open Bowl' option: this is the only area PPRx has this feeder beat. If it could offer an 'open bowl' option that keeps the bowl open to authorized RFID tags but then closes to unauthorized RFID tags it would be a huge improvement! - Offer a different color of RFID feeder mat: I'm not a huge fan of the feeding mat being the cream color. It shows every little crumb and hair and would be much more ideal in a grey or even black to hide the mess a bit. Well, if you've made it this far you are a dedicated! There is not much competition for this feeder and what it provides, but against the one competition it has it is the CLEAR winner. Officially approved by this auto feeder connoisseur so far! I will update if any issues arise.

I bought two PETLIBRO RFID feeders with so much excitement. After researching different options, I truly believed I had finally found the perfect solution to stop my kitten, Teo, from constantly stealing food from Mía. When the feeders arrived and I set them up, I was genuinely happy. Watching each of them calmly eating from their own feeder made me feel like the problem had finally been solved. Unfortunately, that feeling didn’t last long. After one of my kittens finished eating, the feeder door remained open during the few extra seconds it is programmed to stay open before closing automatically. During that brief period, my other kitten walked over to the feeder and rested one of his front paws on the edge while trying to eat. When the door began to close automatically, his paw became completely trapped between the lid and the edge of the feeder. He immediately cried out in pain and desperately pulled with all his strength trying to free himself, but he couldn’t. I panicked and tried to help him immediately. First, I tried to bring my other kitten close so the feeder would reopen using her RFID collar, but she was so frightened by seeing her little brother crying out that she ran away and hid under the bed. I then tried to open the lid by hand, but Teo was moving and jumping around in panic so violently that I couldn’t safely get my hand close without risking hurting him even more. At the same time, I desperately grabbed my phone to open the feeder through the app. Just as I was finally about to open it, Teo managed to pull his paw free on his own. It all lasted only a few seconds, but to me, it felt like an eternity. As a result, three of his little toes became very red and sore. Fortunately, he did not suffer a more serious injury, but that moment alone was enough for me to completely lose confidence in this product. As evidence of what happened, I have attached a photograph taken that same day. You can still clearly see the redness on three of his toes, especially the middle one. The picture was taken after I had already waited for a while and applied ice to help reduce the swelling and redness. Even then, the redness was still clearly visible. Immediately after the incident, his paw was noticeably much redder. Seeing my kitten like that was truly heartbreaking. The entire reason I bought these feeders was to protect each of my kittens’ food. However, no benefit is worth the risk of a pet becoming trapped or injured by the closing mechanism. As a pet owner, I believe that any product designed to physically interact with animals should place safety above everything else. After this experience, I believe this design deserves a thorough review by the manufacturer to help ensure that an incident like this cannot happen again. For that reason, I will be returning both feeders. I simply can no longer use them with the peace of mind that my kittens will be completely safe. I am sharing my experience respectfully because I believe other pet owners deserve to know about it before making a purchasing decision. I sincerely hope my experience helps prevent another kitten—and another family—from having to go through such a frightening experience.

The best feeder ever! I’m a huge Petlibro fan. The first product I bought was the automatic camera feeder, and later I purchased two stainless steel water fountains. Recently, my older cat developed some intestinal issues, so we had to switch him to a special prescription kibble. The problem was that my other two cats loved the new food and wouldn’t let him eat it. That’s when I decided to buy this feeder, and the experience has been amazing. My cats have never been comfortable wearing collars, but surprisingly, it wasn’t a problem at all. The feeder works perfectly, and I love that it notifies me whenever my older cat comes to eat. It has made managing his diet so much easier. The only downside is that the subscription is a bit too expensive for me, but the good thing is that the feeder works perfectly well even without it. I ordered it from Colombia during the Amazon Prime Days sale, and the delivery was surprisingly fast. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase!

Updated review: 1/12/26 I ordered a replacement for the one I originally got. It's been 2 and a half months now and I've had no issues with the replacement. It works exactly as expected and I love this feeder so much. That being said, I can't recommend this product. I hate that in order to operate it needs to be connected to wifi. It would be one thing if the wifi connectivity were an additional feature so you could control it from your phone if you wanted, yet have the machine be setup so it remembers feeding times and quantities without needing wifi, but that's not the case. You have to set it up on your phone which it why it needs wifi. If it disconnects at any point, it won't feed your pet until it's back online. I find that ridiculous. Especially when there are so many quality feeders out there that are way cheaper and dont need wifi to operate. The ONLY reason I got this feeder in the first place was to keep one cat from stealing another's. No other auto feeder out there as far as im aware includes the RFID chip operated gate. Which sucks, because that single feature puts this product with unpredictable quality ahead of so many other really great feeders. That feature is the only reason I love this product. Even though we've had no issues with this second one so far, I still feel like we're just waiting for it to stop working. Old Review: 10/22/25 When it works, it's great. But after a few weeks of having it it's started to glitch out regularly and at this point it happens once a week like clockwork. When it glitches the voice will spam "buttons locked." This happens out of nowhere, unpromted, when no one has been near the buttons. It also will reset itself and then fail to reconnect to wifi which is frustrating bc when that happens the device becomes useless. It won't dispense or open its door when it's offline so for it to have this issue constantly on a weekly basis is unacceptable and defeats of the point of the product. All that being said, I want to love this feeder SO bad. It's such a great concept and for the majority of the time that it's working, it does a great job at keeping my grazer cat fed and my goblin one out of her food. For that reason, I'm going to return the one I currently have and get a new one in hopes that the one I got was just faulty. Will update this review in about a month on how it goes.

I would give this product a million stars if I could. Truly the best product I’ve ever gotten for our two kitties. This automatic feeder has been an absolute life changer for me. Before, I really was struggling to keep up with our cat’s feeding habits. One of our cats, Colby, is constantly grazing. Usually never eating more than a few bites at a time. So feeding him twice a day just wasn’t cutting it for his nutritional needs. However, our other cat, Kahlan, has some medical issues that have caused her to gain weight. She has to be on a special prescription diet and her food needs to be portioned. You can see my dilemma. Prior to this purchase I was feeding our cats 4 times a day!! And on top of the sheer quantity of times they had to be fed I also had to monitor each feeding to ensure Kahlan wasn’t getting into Colby’s food. Fast forward to March, 2025. My husband and I are going on vacation in 1 month and trying to figure out how in the world we are going to keep the cats on their now well established routines. Of course, we can’t expect someone else to come into our house four times a day AND supervise each meal multiple times over the course of a week. Then I remembered this recommendation from a friend. I had put off purchasing this in the beginning simply for the expense, knowing we would have to get two machines. Let me tell you, it was worth every penny. We have both machines set up so the cats get 1/12 cup of dry food 3 times a day (7am, 3pm, and 10pm) the food automatically dispenses at these times each day and you can use the app to easily change how much food you want dispensed and at what times. I watched the instructional video and had no issues with set-up. That being said, our cats have always been comfortable wearing collars. The collars are an important piece to this process working smoothly because the machine is set up to recognize the collar of the cat it is paired to. This function along with the plastic side guards ensure that the cats cannot get into each other’s food, not for lack of trying!! So if your cats are not used to wearing collars or will not wear them, this product won’t work as intended. The collars are also not made of the most durable material. However, you can easily take the “chip” off their collar and place it on a new collar and it will still work as intended. Another note, if you are getting these before going on vacation like we did, I highly recommend getting the product about a month or so in advance. Colby took to the machine instantly. However, Kahlan would not eat from hers for a while and it took a number of days with us feeding her next to the machine for her to get comfortable with it. If you find your cat having issues with it, I would recommend giving it a week or two to allow them to adjust before returning the product. Though she took longer with warming up, she now happily uses her machine and races to her feeder as soon as she hears the sound of her food dispensing. We had only one glitch when we were on vacation where the food in one of the feeders got stuck and wouldn’t dispense. However, the app notifies you instantly telling you exactly what the problem is. We called a relative to fix the problem and the app will also remove the error code once the problem is properly resolved. We also bought a pet cam to set up next to the feeders so we could monitor the cats as they were eating and check up on them each day. This product truly gave me my life back. I cannot speak more highly of these feeders. If you are doing what I was and hand feeding and supervising your cats multiple times a day, please try this. If it doesn’t work in 3-4 weeks you can always return the product. BUT if it does work, you will get your time back and significantly reduce your stress and frustration over your cats health and weight. These feeders completely eliminate the problem of overeating. Please also note that with the exception of the one technical difficulty, we have not had a single issue with the feeders prior or since. We have continued to use them daily even upon returning from our vacation as a replacement to hand feeding the cats.
