I have been using the Skytech Omega with 6-core i7 3.7 GHZ CPU & Intel-8700K graphics card for about 6 months primarily for complex 3-D graphics rendering applications. When replacing an iMac became necessary the cost of this machine when compared with any Apple machine with anything anywhere near equivalent specs was an absolute no-brainier. The Skytech plus a decent UHD display was less than half the cost. As to performance, this machine is amazingly fast. It does complex 3-D renders in about 1/10 the time of the first generation quad-core i7. The Windows 10 OS is stable and runs 64-bit graphics software flawlessly; speed is not noticably affected by anti-virus software. There is no bloatware pre-installed. The machine boots up in seconds and opens apps just as fast. There is no significant difference in the major 3-D graphics or photo editing apps on the Windows vs. Apple platforms, and all of the commonly used graphics file formats translate the files from the Mac to Windows without any difficulties. Of course, Apple's proprietay apps do not run on Windows, something to consider if you are editing a lot video. One thing to consider also is that if you are planning to use any applications with large libraries of graphic elements (think CAD architectural or 3-D design apps) is that the 250 GB SSD will probably be barely adequate in terms of storage space; it may not accommodate huge library of graphic element in addition to several productivity applications as well. This machine also comes with a fast 2 TB hard drive, which is plenty adequate. The problem is that at least some productivity applications (e.g., Photoshop Elements, some 3-D graphics apps) will not allow installation on other than the C-drive (in this machine the C-drive is the SSD drive) and so you cannot install them into the 2 TD D-drive. The takeaway is that if you are going to use this machine for such work, opt for the larger storage capacity of the 500 GB SSD, not the 250. This Skytech machine has so far proved reliable and the build quality is very good. The couple of contacts I have had with tech support on minor issues have been good to very good. This computer is a great deal. Most others don't come with the 16GB Nvidia card...and double the VRAM really helps. The motherboard is a a name brand Gigabyte and is solid, well cooled and configurable in the BIOS. I use it to run MSFS 2024 at full ULTRA settings and it has no issues at all. The glass on the case is well protected in shipping (and is indeed actual glass, not plastic). I would (and will) buy from this supplier again. ... show more

Edit: July 2022. From the entire computer, I had to replace almost everything, including CMOS battery. The only part that I have not replaced since purchasing this PC is... the case. Which was damaged anyways when I sent the computer to them for repair. The power supply died yesterday, which was the last hardware piece from the original build. DO NOT buy this. Original post: Don't buy this. I was really excited about getting a great pre built PC. It worked well for a couple of months but then it started overheating and restarting all the time for no reason. I contacted support but they told me the repair time would be 5-6 weeks but when I received instructions/shipping label (which also takes up to 4 days) it said that it takes additional 8-16 days on top of that due to delayes. That's around 9 weeks without a PC. I decided to troubleshoot it myself and they agreed to help me with that, which I appreciated. It came down to extreme overheating even when idle. They sent me a new CPU cooler. Although they did not send me cleaners to remove the old thermal paste. I bought it myself. When swapping the coolers I was welcomed by melted silicone all over it... I told them what I found but they tried to tell me this is normal and the silicone is easy to remove. No it wasn't. It also completely melted into the cooler (causing overheating) and onto the brackets that hold the cooler nearly spilling on the motherboard. I had to replace the brackets as it was impossible to remove the silicone from it and I did not want any more melting silicone in my PC. The company claimed that the silicone protected the cooler during shipping but there was no note about it in instructions and also, if I were to remove the fan to take off the silicone UNDERNEATH IT, I'd have to assemble it back, which means cleaning the old thermal paste from the cooler and the CPU and applying new one... which is not something that is expected of a buyer of a pre built PC. The pre built computer is supposed to be fully assembled and should not require someone to break it apart and assemble again. Once that was done, I ran a system restore and the pc turned on. But not for long. It started resetting again over and over again without a warning after just a few hrs of running. I contacted support again and they told me to check the power and reset buttons. They were fine. After hours of trying to get the PC to run, it completely crapped out. It kept restarting over and over again even before the log in screen and restore, reset and any other recovery functions no longer worked. Then it started giving me the blue screens (attached). The ssd drive is completely corrupted and windows recovery is gone. I asked for replacements or a refund of the computer but was denied as they only cover it for 30 days or so. The PC was poorly assembled and built. This should not be happening to a brand new computer just a few months after purchase. There should not be any silicone around the CPU cooler. This is not worth the headache. Buy something else. I am going to keep demanding a refund or a full replacement asap. ... show more
