You want this sub, you need this sub!
I was absolutely amazed by the sound quality of this sub. I used this as a replacement to my 8 inch dual voice coil bazooka sub that I was already kinda bummed about its sound output. the speaker ended up going bad and so I went to look for a replacement. when I did a quick search i saw that people were using these Skar Audio subs for OEM replacements and I thought that might be a good idea. Boy was I right! after using some sound deadening mat inside the tube i wired everything up to the Skar and drilled it in. wow, just wow. the sound was night and day from the OEM Bazooka sub. so much more crisp and thuddy that I was really wanting over the bazooka sub. Im so glad I spent the cheap money on this Skar and will look to do the same in the future for other truck installs. ... show more

Can go wrong for the price
This is a great sub! Im no car audio enthusiast by no means but I think it sounds great. Few people have asked what's in the trunk and when I tell them just 1 8in sub they are perplexed! Paired with a stinger amp in a sealed box. They come stiff, you gotta break these in.

GREAT BASS, running twin svr-8”s on a cheap recoil amp 125w each sub, they shake all my mirrors while being underpowered, set in a 35hz atrend twin box and reinforced silicone seams.. moves TONS of air as is and planning on upgrading to a 1200w rms amp to push 600w each sub

This sub should cost more than it does.
If box is done correctly this sub is loud, can’t believe it is an 8”. Paired with a Rockville RXD-M2 3000W Mono 1-Ohm Car Amplifier. Used a box design tool. Box is a 10” x10” square tube style with a slot port tuned to 53 hz. While I have had louder setups, 2 x 15, multiple 2 x 12, 2 x 10, 4 x 10, this setup is my favorite. Had it since 2022 now 2025. Friends still don’t believe it’s one 8. At first they thought I had more subs hidden. It does need a powerful amp and a crossover all set correctly though. It will take more power than it’s rated for. I did get a defective one first, there was a “pop” noise as the bass hit. I was taken care of, field destroyed by cutting surround and sending a pic. 2nd one perfect for 3 years. ... show more

Worth every penny
Wow, this produces way more base than I expected!! I built a ported box for my 4 door gen1 Tacoma, sits behind the passenger seat and still allows my daughters twisting car seat. I roughly attempted to keep close volume for the interior of the box as well as the port, as they recommended. Same with the length of the port it self. Now I know there's no way I was really close, and this f-ing bumps! I'm using a 4ch amp bridging two ch, and the VCs are both connected to it in parallel. So I'm only using ~50% of what my amps capable of, and it's almost as loud as I would ever want it. I do NOT have sensitive heading lol so that says something. Oh, and RMS for my amp is 260w x2 when bridged. So theoretically I'm just over half way in power. I do hear it clipping when too high, either that or I'm surpassing xmax due to my boxs volume being too much. Gonna figure that out today but damn this thing is awesome ... show more

I am thoroughly impressed by this sub on 300 watts with a box I built to Skar’s recommended specs. Definitely an improvement over the 15” sub it replaced in my Lexus. Would highly recommend this sub to anyone who wants to have good bass and not break the bank. EDIT!!!!!! Sub blew after a week, both voice coils are dead. Only ran on a 300watt RF amp. If skar makes it right and ships me a new one quickly I’d still give this 5 stars no problem, stuff happens ... show more

Just what I needed for this build!
I needed a decent 8" with the proper TS parameters for this enclosure there I build. Could have gone with something "better", but with the FS and Vas of this woofer, mated with a 600w RMS amp, this looked like a good choice so I took a shot. Was given the option or "Used, pre-owned,open box" for about half the cost. Went with that and was happily supposed to receive a brand new sealed woofer. Sounds great and worked out perfectly. ... show more
