great subs . for such a small speaker they thump pretty loud . very pleased .

    • This sub should cost more than it does.
If box is done correctly this sub is loud, can’t believe it is an 8”. Paired with a Rockville RXD-M2 3000W Mono 1-Ohm Car Amplifier. Used a box design tool. Box is a 10” x10” square tube style with a slot port tuned to 53 hz. While I have had louder setups, 2 x 15, multiple 2 x 12, 2 x 10, 4 x 10, this setup is my favorite. Had it since 2022 now 2025. Friends still don’t believe it’s one 8. At first they thought I had more subs hidden. It does need a powerful amp and a crossover all set correctly though. It will take more power than it’s rated for. I did get a defective one first, there was a “pop” noise as the bass hit. I was taken care of, field destroyed by cutting surround and sending a pic. 2nd one perfect for 3 years. ... show more

I am thoroughly impressed by this sub on 300 watts with a box I built to Skar’s recommended specs. Definitely an improvement over the 15” sub it replaced in my Lexus. Would highly recommend this sub to anyone who wants to have good bass and not break the bank. EDIT!!!!!! Sub blew after a week, both voice coils are dead. Only ran on a 300watt RF amp. If skar makes it right and ships me a new one quickly I’d still give this 5 stars no problem, stuff happens ... show more

Wow, this produces way more base than I expected!! I built a ported box for my 4 door gen1 Tacoma, sits behind the passenger seat and still allows my daughters twisting car seat. I roughly attempted to keep close volume for the interior of the box as well as the port, as they recommended. Same with the length of the port it self. Now I know there's no way I was really close, and this f-ing bumps! I'm using a 4ch amp bridging two ch, and the VCs are both connected to it in parallel. So I'm only using ~50% of what my amps capable of, and it's almost as loud as I would ever want it. I do NOT have sensitive heading lol so that says something. Oh, and RMS for my amp is 260w x2 when bridged. So theoretically I'm just over half way in power. I do hear it clipping when too high, either that or I'm surpassing xmax due to my boxs volume being too much. Gonna figure that out today but damn this thing is awesome ... show more
