Skar Audio engineered the SDR-1X8D2 single 8-inch loaded vented subwoofer enclosure as a simplified solution to add a competition-grade subwoofer system in your vehicle. This loaded subwoofer enclosure features one of our powerful SDR-8 D2 700-watt max power 8-inch subwoofers, which arrives pre-loaded and wired up inside of the custom single 8" vented enclosure. The enclosure features a unique kerf port design, allowing for extreme levels of bass output and sound accuracy. This enclosure was engineered by Skar Audio specifically for the subwoofer that is loaded in it, ensuring perfect sound and compatibility. Every subwoofer is different, and it is so critical when buying a subwoofer to ensure that the subwoofer and enclosure are an ideal match, or you will lose sound quality and output. With this loaded subwoofer enclosure model, all those concerns are eliminated, making it easier than ever to add powerful aftermarket bass to your vehicle. Furthermore, the enclosure is finished in premium grade black carpet for a sleek appearance and features the Skar Audio logo in white on the top surface of the box. The subwoofer comes pre-wired and loaded inside of the enclosure allowing for an easy and hassle- free installation. Wow! This is only 8 inches:? I am impressed with how hard this thing hits, honestly I had a 12” that didn’t hit this hard. This thing is a beast for the price. IF this sub holds up, the value for the money is unbelievable. I currently have the gain around 40% and that is more than I need personally. I paired with the sub with the Skar RP350.1D amp(which by the way is surprisingly small), this setup should be more than enough for anyone looking for a box and amp that fits very comfortably in the trunk of a subcompact car and wants amazing sound. At 75% radio volume, with all windows closed, from outside the car you can barely hear the sub with the exception of a very little bit of vibration from the license plate holder. But when you open the door and get in the car, my goodness is it loud, I’m impressed. Great job so far SKAR! I reserve the right to change this review in the future, as Skar does have some questionable reviews. ... show more

Small size with bass. Whatever the box is tuned to is spot on for the trunk. With woofer and port firing towards trunk opening it gives plenty of bass even with Harman Kardon premium audio factory amplifier which gives 240 watts @2ohms mono. Skar audio always solid products that produce bass . Have purchased and installed many of their subs and they hit every time. ... show more

This sub is absolutely perfect for a bass head like myself in my compact SUV. This hits lows so clean and crisp and really drives at those low hz. I couldn't be happier with the performance. Great job Skar Audio.

This 8” sub is very loud, crisp and clean sounding. Its performance was way better than expected. I switched from a JL Audio W6-12HO when I gave my dad my car. The sound from this skar sub was very impressive and for 1/5th the cost. Would recommend to anyone. Great value

Size: Single 8 in D 2 Loaded Enclosure
I installed this single 8" subwoofer enclosure in an Acura TL. I am running it with a NVX VADM1 1 ohm stable subwoofer amp. I can not believe the performance. Even in a sedan, which are somewhat finicky about whether or not the bass will carry through the trunk area into the cabin, the bass from this single, ported 8" is mind-blowing. I am not exaggerating, this thing is a beast. I haven't spent much time evaluating the sound quality, but it seems no worse than other systems I have had, but the output of this sub is clearly impressive. I used to have subs in hatchback cars, and those always seemed the loudest to me, but this sub makes my sedan seem just as loud.... I am a big fan of the VADM1 amps, and have one in my Q60 running 2 Alpine Type-R 10's in a sealed enclosure, and in my Nissan Titan I also have a VADM1 running 2 Alpine Bass Line 8's in sealed enclosures. This Skar single 8" absolutely crushes those subs, running the same amp. Not even close. And, I really like how compact the enclosure is, in the trunk of an average FWD sedan, this single 8" takes up hardly any space, I can even fully access my spare tire and kit without even needing to move the enclosure. And it seems to have the output of 2 sealed 12's.... And the price....icing on the cake! ... show more

Honestly, I see a lot of hate for Skar Audio. But, some of the line of speakers for Skar are cheap. However, you have to know what you're buying. These are 8 inch woofers wired to 1 ohm. With sw boxes this size and drivers at 8 inches you have to appreciate what these speakers are all about. And what these speakers are all about are high performance at low wattage. So, if you buy these, understand that these speakers are not for 10,000 watt amp. A good example of proper usage of these speakers would be 200 or 300 watt amplifier. Skar's at this level are crazy efficient. Honestly, I bought my wife a record player, I already had a cheap Sony Receiver, and bought these 8" Skar's, and really I am in business. I paired these with some cheap Klipsch bookshelf speakers and they work perfectly. They are still wired at 1ohm. However, these 8" sub are not pulling down major wattage, and the Sony receiver is only 100 watts. But it sounds amazing. And that is the beauty of the Skar's. They are very sensitive and can be over driven. However, using a cheap amp with these can really bring out effectiveness of these speakers. Skar's has really made me a believer. ... show more

I decided to buy a budget system off Amazon to revisit my high school days. I paired this with the AudioBank 800W. All-in I paid $200.07 for this sub, amp and skar brand amp kit (I will be changing that out immediately btw, I didn't realize what CCA was).. Everything bumps as it should. Very impressive $200 system. We'll have to see about longevity though. ... show more
