After a few hours of use, it was a must do for my BRZ, bought the bezels to make it look flushed and took my time wiring, it sounds, works and plays wonderfully. Also it's peak retro if you like the early 2000's head unit with a remote, it's a flex on itself.

Apple CarPlay Works!

In a previous review I mentioned it does not work - it does - it just requires the cable. The system does not have Wireless CarPlay. Bluetooth is still kind of wonky but the cabled CarPlay works well. Raised the review up from 1 star to 5. Feel much better about the purchase now that I can use CarPlay. ... show more

Great unit, but lacking a few features
Model name: DMH-2660NEX
Installed this unit shortly after Christmas and its working great. A few gotchas: -While this unit supports Apple Carplay, it REQUIRES a USB connection to make this work. Wireless Carplay is not supported on this unit unfortunately. -Unit requires a connection to the parking brake. Basically the manufacturer doesn't want you fiddling with certain settings while driving. I get the safety benefit, but it also locks out passengers from making some adjustments unless the parking brake is engaged. I purchased an after market bypass unit from this, and you should consider doing the same. -This is more of subjective industry feedback: Head units this style are all flat, and touch based only. You quickly learn to miss the haptic feedback of the factoring that offered from feeling for a Seek button, preselect station buttons, or more noticeably, a volume knob. Modern cars that have steering wheel controls (and an extra Maestro unit to interface them) won't suffer from this, but I'd prefer the unit to have something to help combat this. Since the receiving car doesnt have steering wheel controls, I added stickers next to the soft volume up/down buttons to assist me when driving. -Unit has a nag screen every time the car is started. Granted it only stays on a few seconds, but really? I'm a grown up that bought a product. Why can't I disable this? ... show more

Issues with the stereo

I'm using this in my limousine in las vegas, I switch from Bluetooth to USB (music videos) constantly. I have purchased 2 of them for different limos. ISSUE: when switching from Bluetooth to USB, the unit all of a sudden gives an error code and will not read the USB. If you reset unit (turning off power to the unit by turning car off) when it re-boots it will read the usb again... untill you use Bluetooth again! It's so frustrating I put a kill switch in to reset the stereo! Besides this issue it's great! But for my purposes it's HORRIBLE.. and FYI I contacted PIONEER in regards to this issue, there response.... silence... wont admit they have a software problem and tell me it's the way it was installed.. well I had it professionally installed with a qualified stereo installer, im guessing 20 years of experience shoud qualify, and they still won't even acknowledge the issue! Won't buy PIONEER again till they get better customer service! Maybe posting this picture will get some results.. doubt it though ... show more

Originally bought an SjoyBring deck. The Radio was junk. Returned it and got this Pioneer. Reception is much better. Everything seems to work good so far. It was only 80 dollars more than the Sjoybring. Well worth the extra money. Quality is much better.
