  • Great value
We did do some mitigation - used fireplace paint and sealant on some key areas as a previous comment recommended. For under $30 we hopefully stopped immediate rust. Otherwise, this is exactly what we wanted. It's warming and nice to look at without being too short that it leaves us in smoke. It's definitely sturdy enough, and easy to get started. The smoke is minimal at best, and if you're wondering - the temp at the smoke stack is around 450°F. It's the perfect size for our deck, but will easily move to the driveway for Halloween. We are very happy with the purchase. ... show more

  • Worth the price.
Easy assembly. Nice and compact size. Works well in windy conditions.

  • It'll do, happy I got it, but it's not too quality.
I'd give this 3 1/2 stars...Good fire pit for the patio. Ideally I wanted a ceramic chimenea, however I like that this one is easy & lightweight to move. It was simple to put together, HOWEVER, there were 2 sections on the schute that would not align at all. Even my husband, a 30 yr. sheet metal worker, could not get the screws to fit in the holes. It still works, though. Another negative is the door is "wonky" and cheap, does not close well and isn't sturdy. Lost review stars also for not having an opening at the bottom to release the ashes 😕. Overall, I do not regret this purchase, it'll do. ... show more

  • Great purchase for outdoor warmth
Easy to put together and puts out a nice heat for those chilly days outdoors. Light enough to take camping with you. Only down side is that it is light and can easily be blown over in high winds; but also sturdy with no damage when it does get blown over😁

  • A Fair Compromise
- of cost and utility. The Singlyfire prairie chiminea is definitely NOT cast iron as suggested by its foreign supplier, but is constructed of a fair gauge sheet steel. Mine went together easily, without any hemispherical mating problems of the upper/lower halves. Before use I suggest painting it well inside and out with a 1200 degree grill-style spray paint; also using something like a DAP, high-temp mortar joint caulk at the chimney-body joints and over fasteners to prevent condensation gathering and rust from forming. You can expect a decent radiant heat when burning, as long as there's no wind, which will backdraft the grillwork (it having some misalignment latching problems.) The fire grate is cute - meant more for grilling burgers that holding a heavy ash bed and the vinyl cover is a good fit, though lightweight and likely wouldn't last much of a winter if the unit were left outdoors. Might be a good idea to clean and rinse the stove within 24 hours of any use to also prevent corrosion of the thin gauge fire pot All in all, though, not a bad buy for the money. ... show more

  • FIRE CHIMINEA ~ UPGRADED
Purchased this fire Chiminea a few days ago. This unit is very light as others stated in their reviews. I had a clay Chiminea for10 years but recently it had too many deep cracks which prevented continued use. Based on reviews, I put two flat heavy rocks on the bottom grate which keeps it grounded even in the Colorado winds. I also read about some rust issues, so before use and assembly, I lightly sanded all parts and applied two coats of rustoleum to prevent rusting which also applied a 2,000 degree heat shield to every part inside/outside to ensure this puppy last far beyond 10 years. I'm submitting a picture of the Chiminea and it looks way different with the flat black rustoleum 2,000 degree heat shield versus the high gloss black it arrived with. I had my first fire today and it was great. Now only time will tell on the quality of this product. Lasting, very easy to put together and move around with the two side handles. Thus far, very pleased with the purchase. I would recommend anyone purchasing this unit to consider adding rustoleum +heat shield to increase longevity of the product. ... show more

  • Cheap - ok - maybe splurge & get better
We were well aware that this was not cast-iron, it’s cheap, light, metal. We were having an outdoor party and wanted something quick. It’s already starting to show signs of rust (and it hasn’t rained in New York in about 45 days.) We’ve also been covering it. If I could relive life, we’d save the $150 and invest in something bigger, better. Like the title says - it’s ok. It can fit about 3 logs at a time. At most. Throws some heat. (And PS the “Blue Rooster” version of this, is pretty small. We ordered that one too. 🤦♀️) ... show more

  • Good product for the money
Really good product. I wanted something that kept the smoke out of our face. This is a good alternative to a fire pit. It's about 18 gauge sheet metal, not cast iron. The cover is cheap made, but overall it's been a really good product for a couple to sit and enjoy a cool fall night.
