I have been very pleased at the performance and evident quality of this fan, especially as such a fair price point. It's sturdy, powerful, and reasonably quiet (especially considering how much air it can move). I downgraded the "ease of Assembly" rating not because I had any trouble putting it together but because I think that it's a bit more complicated than most fans in its class and may present a challenge to people who aren't as happy to tinker with appliances as I am. If I had to purchase this 20 inch floor fan again, I would. It's way better than any box fan and it sure does move the air. With my old box fan I literally have to sit directly in front of it to feel any breeze. With this one, no problem even up to 20 feet away. At 10 feet away, you get a good enough breeze to keep the bugs off of you while working in the garage. It must be the metal fan blades in this one and it's actually quieter than the $35 box fan. So yes, spend the extra $30 for something that works. I also used this with outdoor parties, especially on hot summer nights. If you do use it at outside at parties, I would suggest to plug it into portable GFI (like on your hair dryer) or a GFIC outlet. Water, beer or wet kids do not mix well with electricity. The reason for my ratings, the power cord could be longer. Thus, my rational of using a GFI when using any fans outside, especially on an extension cord. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The first thing I noticed after opening and laying the parts out is that someone took the time to screw in the feet of the fan without removing the plastic. Who does that?! After correcting the issue I was happy to notice that the fan can be taken apart for cleaning which was incorrectly stated that you couldn’t, but other reviewers. The fan itself is definitely high velocity and loud with three levels of increased noise until it sounds like it’s going to take flight. I needed this to devert smoke from my neighbors from coming into my unit, so I’m happy it’s powerful and not concerned with the noise as it will be outside. Overall I’m happy with my purchase and would order again if I needed a second fan. ... show more

Pros: -Fan moves air quite a bit. So far it shows a vast improvement compared to my vornado. -It is not too loud but not quiet either. As a garage fan for workouts, It won't be a problem but if you are using it indoors, it might be too loud. Cons: -Some of the wires are exposed on the back where the controls are... somewhat concerned if it should be exposed. -The fan came with the frame slightly bent/dented in. Probably from shipping but who knows... -Does not stay in position Overall: After using this for a few months... it does not stay in position. I have to take channel lock pliers to it every week so that it will stay in position.... IMO now it seems like a waste of money. ... show more

Nine out of ten customers comes to my shop without a mask. I help those through the gate to the sidewalk, but they breathe rather near me, so I figured if I install a fan that blows air directly at those customers it would all but eliminate the risk of whatever may be in their breath coming my way, rather away from myself (read: COVID). This fan has many pro's and inconsequential con's: It is absolutely silent at any of its 3 speeds. It sends a good air volume without being bothersome like smaller fans which send air concentrated in a small diameter. It looks really good. Really good, unlike cheap plastic which is prevalent these days. In the other hand, construction is a bit flimsy and two assembling screws came cross threaded. Also there is no way to know what its long term reliability would be. It does seem that would last though, but at a little over $40 to me it's a bargain. ... show more
