Really good air output. This fan is the perfect size for my bedroom. I MUST sleep with a fan on. I searched for a fan that wasn't quiet. (Nothing comes up) ..Not obnoxiously loud but not silent either. Well, quiet is a requirement for most people but I sleep better to the noise, so I really lucked out because this fan is juuuust right. Extremely high quality - looks like the type of thing you only need to buy once per lifetime. Good amount of noise on the third speed for sleeping, but quiet enough on the first two that you won't notice it's on. The grill, blades, motor, and mount are all separate pieces that can be replaced if damaged. I'll never forget the day my plastic $20 box fan fell off the window sill and broke instantly. I have been very pleased at the performance and evident quality of this fan, especially as such a fair price point. It's sturdy, powerful, and reasonably quiet (especially considering how much air it can move). I downgraded the "ease of Assembly" rating not because I had any trouble putting it together but because I think that it's a bit more complicated than most fans in its class and may present a challenge to people who aren't as happy to tinker with appliances as I am.     • It really does move the air for a 20 inch floor fan

If I had to purchase this 20 inch floor fan again, I would. It's way better than any box fan and it sure does move the air. With my old box fan I literally have to sit directly in front of it to feel any breeze. With this one, no problem even up to 20 feet away. At 10 feet away, you get a good enough breeze to keep the bugs off of you while working in the garage. It must be the metal fan blades in this one and it's actually quieter than the $35 box fan. So yes, spend the extra $30 for something that works. I also used this with outdoor parties, especially on hot summer nights. If you do use it at outside at parties, I would suggest to plug it into portable GFI (like on your hair dryer) or a GFIC outlet. Water, beer or wet kids do not mix well with electricity. The reason for my ratings, the power cord could be longer. Thus, my rational of using a GFI when using any fans outside, especially on an extension cord. ... show more

The base of the fan was a little warped when it arrived, so it doesn't quite sit flush with the table/supporting surface and rocks a little when touched. But it is very attractive and otherwise pretty well built and sturdy - compared to plastic fans. A good price for a non-plastic fan! It's not loud and it's not quiet. Pros: -Fan moves air quite a bit. So far it shows a vast improvement compared to my vornado. -It is not too loud but not quiet either. As a garage fan for workouts, It won't be a problem but if you are using it indoors, it might be too loud. Cons: -Some of the wires are exposed on the back where the controls are... somewhat concerned if it should be exposed. -The fan came with the frame slightly bent/dented in. Probably from shipping but who knows... -Does not stay in position Overall: After using this for a few months... it does not stay in position. I have to take channel lock pliers to it every week so that it will stay in position.... IMO now it seems like a waste of money. ... show more
