This is my first review on Amazon. I’ve ordered probably hundreds of things over the last several years. And this is the best thing I have bought here. I just purchased a one bedroom condo and am living here by myself. I have searched around for internet providers but it was like pulling teeth trying to find one that serviced my area or could come out without asking me the same questions over and over just to redirect me to someone else. I decided to do my own research since I heard about mobile hotspots. I purchased this little orange guy and man. This thing rocks. Mind you - I live alone. I am not a gamer so I do not need super fancy internet. But I have used 3 devices at once on this thing; phone, laptop and TV. All for streaming. Netflix, web browsing, and have even left multiple tabs open on each device to see how well it functioned. I have been using this for almost a week now and have only seen it lag slightly twice. But it was barely noticeable! I pay for the $89/month unlimited internet. What’s great about it is no contracts. No hidden fees or any crap like that. Or you can do pay as you go. Per GB. It’s SO convenient for just myself in my condo. I would even say it could probably work great for 2-3 people. It reaches quite a bit of distance just like a normal router. Most of the time I have it in another room and it still works great. No lag, not slow. It is saving me lots of money in the long run, too. I can also bring it anywhere. Even around the world. You will need to pay a bit more for the internet in that case, but if you are a traveler this is a great solution for quick and easy internet on the go. Set up was a breeze. Literally just download the app and boom. Pay for what you want then you’re golden. Style: Solis Lite 4G LTE Hotspot
Listen up any person who isn’t just a tourist or traveler. If you work in a facility where signal strength from towers is extremely limited but not nonexistent ( that’s a whole other issue) then this wonderful device should be given a try. Where I work I have some areas where I completely lose signal and mostly used in my cafe which does have signal strength for most carries just not mine. I won’t bash my carrier in this review because it’s not the point others suffer in areas I don’t so the point here is this device picks up the tower signal in the area that’s most reliable and taps you in. No need for a SIM card or change of carrier to do so… the app this device is used with is simple and useful to add various data packages as needed when needed. I was originally going to go the the carrier I know works in my cafe and request a hotspot with devices they sell but after shopping around I came across devices like this one and it’s a dream come true. I’m yet to use up the data the device comes with automatically they give you 5GB to try and so far it’s working well. I don’t sit in my cafe for long so I only needed this to stay connected or use for Apple Pay at the register without losing service. Highly recommend for people who are campers or travel because this bad boy connects to over 130 countries. Now please note that the highest signal strength it picks up is 4G they do make a 5G device too but I only needed to pick up ANY signal as to not lose connection especially in case of an emergency while in an area that has a dead spot. Style: Solis Lite 4G LTE Hotspot
We used our Solis Lite in the UK and Italy for a 2 week trip. We left our phones in Airplane Mode the entire time so the cellular function remained disabled. This meant any phone calls we made or received went over WiFi. Several calls were made using the Solis Hotspot. We were tired of always asking for WiFi passwords and finding ourselves in horrible traffic using Offline Maps. Using the hotspot we could stay in touch with family and friends, and use Google Maps when driving or wandering strange cities. We used a taxi app that required that we stay online throughout the trip so the Solis Hotspot came in handy for that as well. We purposely waited to upload photos or do other data-intensive things until we were on WiFi in our apartment/BnB (making sure to turn off the Hotspot!). Our use averaged around 1/2 GB per day. Start-up time was very quick. One (very minor) complaint is in order to check data usage the Hotspot has to be active and logged in to. Would be great if you could see your usage another way. We found the 3 small lights indicating connection strength/availability to be difficult to see. Checking on the app was much easier. Did not use the Hotspot to power other devices. Had no issues with battery life. Hotspot did not come with a charger plug- would be good to provide some guidance as to what kind of plug would work (we guessed an iPad charger, which did work). Most plug adapters for overseas travel now have USB-C ports which also worked. Very simple to use and fairly "idiot-proof". Extremely happy with this purchase! ... show more
