Save space in your driveway with the Silverback NXT 54" basketball hoop. The NXT allows you to mount the basketball goal to a wall outdoors or indoors – perfect for garages, barns, schools, camps, gyms, and more. Including the backboard, rim, nylon net, and wall mount, this basketball hoop comes partially assembled with attached hardware allowing you to assemble your goal in 120 minutes or less. Mounting hardware is not included. The 54" W x 33" H Infinity Edge backboard has edges that wrap around to the back of the backboard as one continuous material for increased rigidity. The spring- activated rim flexes under pressure, similar to professional-style rims. The pro-style breakaway rim also protects the backboard and prevents player injuries. Using an all-steel crank actuator, the basketball hoop is adjusted from the NBA and NCAA regulation rim height of 10 feet to the safety-approved 7.5 feet. Does the job just fine! The instructions are as noob friendly as possible. The diagonal brace behind the board does a good job of insuring the ball bounces firmly off the board. The rim is great quality. The screws are zinc plated and quality steel. Easy to lower and raise for the kiddos. Things to note: 1. The backboard has a side wall and given it's plexiglass and will eventually become brittle and break it will be impossible to find a replacement board unless you buy the exact one from them. 2. The distance of the mounting holes that secure it to the wall are not 16 on center so you'll have to add studs in the wall to secure it properly. 3. Make sure you face the head of the screws that hold the mounting plate that attaches to the back of the board towards the center of the board (see picture). If you face the 4 screws the wrong way they will interfere with the pivot of the backboard. ... show more

I was apprehensive about finding an affordable good quality hoop and backboard that would attach to my carport and offer both sturdiness and height adjustability. Yesterday I finished the installation and it is absolutely perfect. I seldom write reviews but feel compelled to share my satisfaction when a product is actually better than anticipated. Since the unit is so new I can't vouch for its longevity but I am a 70 year old handyman and I have seen a lot of poor equipment being falsely advertised as "quality." So what makes it so good? The steel is thick and extra stable. The nuts and bolts go together easily and stay together with the locknuts threading beautifully. The rim is incredibly sturdy. And the fit and finish is superb at this price level. I guess you can tell that I am a very satisfied customer who is often quite critical (just ask the Mrs.:-)) So far I believe this hoop will be a winner with my 5 kids and 5 grandkids. It adjusts smoothly to different heights. If there is one thing I predict could be a problem it will likely be the shiny plexi surface which will probably look pretty bad by the end of the summer due to scuffing. So not perfect but still a definite 5 star. Did I say it was also beautiful? and did I say the installation manual was about the best I have ever seen with any product? Kudos to the company who put the time, effort and expense into this feature which makes installation a doable thing for many. ... show more

I had a few requirements (goals) in mind when researching a goal for our home. First, I did not want to spend more than $500. Second, my son plays on travel team and I wanted it to be very close to gymnasium play-ability. This goal has slightly more flex than a tempered glass gym backboard but only slightly. Huge improvement from previous goal is helping him improve. The poly-carbonate backboard is 4mm (1/5”) thick but the brace design makes it play much stiffer. Would have to spend much more to get tempered glass. Third, it had to be approved by the homeowners association. I could get the 54” approved, and it really is a good size. I purchased this B8403W wall mount system and mounted it to 6x6 metal pole. Most of the pole mount systems (in my price bracket) were either proprietary or appeared to have light weight hardware. You can spend a lot of money to get the heavy steel and tempered glass but when I read the reviews and did the research, this one seemed to fill my need. The entire system ties to a T bracket, which with a little DIY design, mounted to the pole, and the result is fantastic. I really like the backboard design and the sturdy hardware. Escalade sports site has the instruction manual online and it is worth taking time to review. The manual shows the T bracket dimensions which allowed me to measure and design the two extra brackets (before purchasing) that allowed this to be a good option for pole mount. Assembly was easy. Instructions are very good. The hardware is well organized (see open box pic) and high quality. Also, the overall project allowed me to teach the youngster a little about design, assembly, and metal work. The hardest part is raising it up to mount. I used a rope and pulley, multiple ladders, and three people. You need to plan the raising/mounting task. Be safe and do not get in a hurry. Very pleased with the final product. ... show more

My son (9 yo) received the Silverback basketball hoop for Christmas, and though the result is visually and structurally great, this 'outside-of-your-garage-wall' project requires a good amount of planning depending on your set-up. At least in my case....Also, the hoop does not come with any mounting hardware at all, the company just tells you to go talk to a 'structural engineer' (right, I'll just go check the yellow pages then), and that they will not be held liable for whatever you do with your wall. So It took me 2 days to completely finish the work, including 1.5 day was planning and securing the mount properly (the longest part of this project). The assembly of the Silverback basketball hoop, arm, lift mechanism, and backerboard itself is easy (about 2 hrs) but it is a heavy object and mechanism, about 80 lbs, and I just did not want to have any accident or problems. As you can see on the pictures, I had to remove some drywall within the garage, re-route the electricity / lights which was giving power outside right around the same area, re-inforce the wall mount from the garage door railing, and secure some side studs to the top ceiling plate and to the bottom garage structural beam. Then I drilled some pilot holes from the outside wall with 5/16 lag screws 10 inches long, it looks very solid!
