So far so good, ifs been about a month, it works well. I have it in my kitchen because it is definitely not something you want in an isolated space. It’s not a horrible volume but noticeable coming from a neurodivergent mind it can become noisy depending on whatever you’re doing around it but most of the time I don’t notice it. It makes ice quickly, dropping a large chunk like a chocolate bar. I’ll usually hit it. If you want it to stop making ice and the thing is full, you just need to set one larger unbroken piece of 3/6 on the little lip that is just above the drop. It has a simple cleaning function that helped when I first got it. I read somewhere that distilled water is best for icemakers and it can extend the life. But I can’t back that up I don’t use anything but but purified water anyway. The ice lasts as long as you’d expect it, it’s not more air than water, the cubes are solid and keep your drinks nice and cold. I would purchase this again. I’ll try to remember to do an update in a few months.

0 Stars. Horrible Product. Worse Customer Service. Buyer Beware! So, outlined below is the history, correspondence and documentation to back up my zero star review. Purchased item from Amazon on 9/27/24. Roughly 6 months later, in April 2025, the ice maker started making a horrible grinding noise which our next door neighbors could hear. The noise only stopped if the machine was unplugged. This meant that it also rendered it ineffective and unusable. I reached out to Dan with Silonn Customer Support on 4/7/25. “New” ice maker was shipped. I use quotes because I honestly think the replacement was refurbished. However, exactly 6 months later, in October 2025, the machine experienced the same issue. I sent a follow up email to Dan on 10/20/25. After 2 emails were ignored, I called the actual customer service number. I spoke to a rep named Dylan. He immediately told me sales were the only group who could help me and offer the exception to replace the icemaker since the original purchase date is what they use for the one-year warranty. I was less than one month out. He must’ve repeated himself 3-4 times. After waiting about 3 days, someone from sales finally reached out to me, asking for the same documentation (ie Amazon invoice + short video) I previously forwarded to them. Almost 3 days later, they informed me that the one-year warranty had lapsed, and there was nothing they could do. However, as a courtesy, they provided me with a promo code for 10% off of services to get the machine repaired. What a joke. This is honestly some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The proof is in the pudding. The machine is clearly only built to last six months, which is absurd. With a price tag of $269.99, it should longer. Considering I’ve seen other brands/models for under $100 with 4-star reviews stating they lasted at 3+ years. I would definitely NOT recommend this icemaker to anyone. Let alone doing business with the company. Very disappointed in the way, this whole thing was handled.

This is my third mini ice maker but my first Silonn branded one. The first 2 were $50-60 jobs that made standard cubes. They both lasted about a year - even with extremely high care. We keep them clean! We ONLY use distilled water in our machines. I'm a nut about bacteria and hardwater, they should NEVER be in your machine or you'll have problems. THE GOOD: So far, the Silonn is going after OVER a year of daily use! Compared to the cheap cube ice makers, the design of this one is superior. It's VERY easy to clean and fully dry which we try to do at least once a month. The top is removable which provides access to the water feed and rotating/freeze area making it a cinch to clean and dry. The design is well executed and simple and has proven to be much more robust compared to the cube ice makers. There are less moving parts, no trays of water sitting around, and no ice to reservoir dumping mechanism. These facts lead to the best strengths of a nugget icemaker! WEAKNESS: The pump and tubing are internal with no direct access. These areas will be prone to microbial growth if you don't maintain your machine. Recommend an occasional diluted bleach flush and always run one before shutting down for an extended period (more than 48 hr). By only using distilled water, you'll avoid many problems folks have with their icemakers. SUMMARY: It has lasted a year of continuous daily use (12+ hrs/day). The ice produced is FANTASTIC! It's the real deal pellet ice, soft and chewy! It's a little slow to produce but at $150 we expected that. We looked at many nugget machines and they proved to be too complicated and VERY expensive. The GE models have horrible reviews and the others have problems too if you dig. The design of the Silonn is actually genius, it's VERY simple and my only fear is the mechanical pump, it does most of the work in this machine. I get a feeling it may die before the electronics/compressor system does. ($12 Amazon warranty to the rescue if it does!) To overcome the relatively slow nugget output, we simply bag ice at the end of the day, freeze it and let the machine sleep until morning. Speed of nugget production is a bit slow but not horrible. It's a good idea to store some bags as it makes it so you have plenty for coolers and guests. This is an EXCELLENT MACHINE after over a year of continuous use! It's started, ran and produced ice every single day. At this price point, I consider it unbeatable and I won't mind if and when it dies. It's produced 1000x it's weight in tasty and awesome ice nuggets for us! WE HIGHLY RECOMMED THIS BRAND AND MACHINE!

We absolutely love this Silonn ice maker. It made the first batch of ice within 6 minutes and hasn’t stopped. We bought this one because it makes the bullet ice (the kind with the hole in the middle) and it doesn’t melt as fast as the nugget ice, that our daughters have, but if your an ice cruncher like me it’s still very easy to crunch. We also like the front handle on the ice basket which makes it so handy when you have to fill the water, you can hold the basket in one hand keeping it over the bucket, so you don’t get water everywhere, and fill it up. It’s not large so it fits nicely on the counter, it’s approximately 9”wide, 11”deep, 11”high, and holds 40oz. of water. It also comes with an ice scooper which fits in the basket handle or you can hang the scoop on the hook that is provided to hang on the side of the machine and it has a water plug on the bottom so it can be emptied after the self clean mode is run. It has a handle that you attach so you can lift the ice maker to where you want it, which is very convenient. I checked a lot of reviews on here and google before deciding on this one and they were all very good. We highly recommend this ice maker.

It was awesome while it lasted. We have had ours for ten months and were very happy with it. About a month ago the on off switch stopped functioning, so we've had to physically unplug it when we want it off. Since then it has been slowly dying. The display barely works and it has become very noisy. I would love to rate it higher, but it didn't even last a year.....

Update! I had this ice maker for just over a year and it died. It had become noisy and then stopped working altogether right after the year mark. I loved it when it worked. I have had this almost a year and no one uses the fridge ice maker anymore. This ice is that perfect crunchy ice that everyone is looking for. I couldn't see paying a huge price for a countertop ice maker when I technically had an ice maker in the fridge. This one has been great. It was easy to use and setup was basically wash it out, plug it in, and fill it up. We have well water so I buy those big jugs of water at Costco to fill it. The price was great, it makes ice in about 6-7 minutes, and the ice is exactly what I wanted. The downside is that it has started to be noisy. I clean it, use bottled water, and It has plenty of space around the machine for air flow. I am hoping that it continues to function. I also wish it was a larger capacity because everyone in my house now takes "mom's ice." However, I hate clutter and appliances on my countertop so for the size of the machine it does make a decent amount.

The Good - Does it's job well - Low fan humming if u care - 2 sized ice - fast churning - Non stop performance The bad -water emptying bottom thingy seems delicate and if it is pulled off, i'm scared it might not go back and it'll be deemed useless, so I left it alone and i empty it from above The Ugly - The seal being poor, if u leave it running it'll keep running forever, it can't keep the ice solid, so it'll melt and re-do over and over again - take the ice and put it in the freezer, shut it off and dry it and put it away, not for continuous use - Also takes up decent counter space

Our $3000 plus Samsung refrigerator started having problems with the ice maker shortly after we purchased it in 2016, where some water overflowed into the maker and jammed the maker. We hayto constantly use the automatic defrost mode of the Samsung refrigerator to unstick the ice maker. The ice maker stopped making ice and the water tank started leaking in 2024. The countertop ice maker is a great addition to our home. The maker makes great and plenty ice and accomplishes what the Samsung refrigerator couldn’t accomplish. When first starting the ice maker, about the first 6 containers of ice had to be discarded because of a plastic taste/smell. Since the Samsung refrigerator ice maker doesn’t work, we transfer ice from the portable ice maker into the refrigerator ice container to store and dispense the ice.
