Fills a 48 oz mug of mine every couple of hours. The ice is great for crunching on while I'm having my drink. My Samsung refrigerator has the crappy ice maker that freezes over constantly. I don't even use it anymore because I like this so much better. The refillable water pitcher in my fridge is just the right amount of water to fill the unit up so that works out quite well. Easy to clean. Everyone complains that "you have to beak up the ice" or "the laser gets in the way when the ice stacks up." It's not a big deal move the ice around with the scoop. Enjoy!

First let it sit in it's normal upright position for at least 12 hours before you plug it in, as you should for all equipment with refrigerant (Freon). Next you need to use good water, less than 50ppm of TDS (Total Desolved Solids). If you don't, it's not going to last or work well very long. I use an R.O. water demineralizer (small, 5 gallon, installed under kitchen sink) to reduce my TDS from around 500ppm, to around 20ppm. Makes 9 cubes of ice every 10 minutes or less. It's not designed to keep the ice frozen, but it does keep it usable for a couple of hours. Of course you can always put the ice in your freezer. I've had it and used it for 3 weeks now and I am pleased. Let's see how long it lasts. It is after all, Made in China!

Mine lasted a year and about 7 months. It’s not the easiest to clean. It was never loud to me besides when it sucks up water and dropped the cubes. But it wasn’t obnoxious, just seemed to be part of owning an ice maker. The only thing I did find obnoxious is when the water was low it sucked harder and you could hear the struggle before “add water” light would turn on. It’s nearly impossible to clean the whole thing. You can’t get behind the tray that catches the ice and slides the forward. After about a year I had darker lines where the flow of extra water would slide back down into the reservoir. Which was slimy, and slime happens with sitting water. I cleaned it once a month. I’d run the cycle and use a bendy brush to get back to everything I could between the metal portions that shape the ice, but you have to be careful to not damage the movement of the system. One annoying thing was pushing the plug down to drain it. More often than not the rubber would stay in place so you’d have to poke it through, and by more often. I mean 999/1000 times. I’d always use very hot water and soap. But for the cycle I’d use vinegar and baking soda. I’d let it run on clean cycle, dump it. Add clean water. Run clean cycle, dump it and then go over it a final time with soap. One more cleaning cycle, then I’d add in hot water and allow cubes to start. I didn’t add the tray back in, I’d allow it to run for about 30 minutes. Dump all the water once more and then take it back where I’d want it and fill it with hot purified water. I felt that the hot water was a necessity. It was all I’d add in to kill germs and allow a cleaner feel to the ice. My last cleaning attempt I took it to the sink and noticed rust in the fan area. It looked like drippage from the inside of the machine, I think that’s why did it in. But almost 2 years isn’t bad for the price. Just, make these things easier to clean or send us tools meant to clean this specific machine.

I bought this ice maker to generate more ice for my family, as we go through a lot of it. The product worked perfectly for a few months, but then the low water sensor stopped functioning randomly. We continued to keep it filled up and used it for about four additional months, but now it’s broken, and we have no more ice. I'm disappointed that this ice maker didn’t even last a year. I cannot recommend this product to anyone.

Great little ice maker for home or on the road. We purchased the ice maker originally for RVing. But found it convenient for extended stays in AIrbnbs. The ice maker, makes two sizes of ice which are like very similar in shape to a billiards powder cone but much smaller. We like that it has indicator lights to show when the ice bin is full and when it needs water added to the reservoir. Since the ice bin is directly over the water reservoir, as the ice melts the water goes right back into the reservoir. Obviously this is not an ice machine that you’d want to supply ice for a party but for two people it’s great. The downside is that it is a bit noisy, but it’s a noise that you kinda get used to and move on with. I just wouldn’t want to sleep with it in the same room. We kept it running 24/7 for a long weekend in our last Airbnb stay and it worked great. But if the noise is a bit too much you can always unplug it until needed. It takes about 7 minutes to make a glass full of the small ice, a little bit longer for the bigger ice. Default setting is for it to make the bigger ice, I haven’t found a way of changing that, so it is what it is, the only time you have to change it is after you initially plug it in. So if you only want small ice, set it and leave it. Besides the noise, the only other downsides are the weight and you need to keep it upright for travel as apparently it has a small refrigerator compressor in it.
