  • Best SSD for Price
Size: 4TB Style: Black (Pro edition)
I admit I was a bit skeptical at first but after using dd to write to the drive first I zeroed the drive before using it and it does slow down after 1.8TB of zeroing non-stop to the drive but it does work fairly fast as advertised. This is not a scam drive, the space is there. This is a good drive for the price, its a good backup drive for your drive images. I would buy again and may do that, hopefully they make a 8TB version. From a drive recovery perspective, this drive is good because its SATA in a aluminum case and you can take it out if the USB becomes faulty. Overall the drive can be mounted, taken out of the case and put into a docking station for cloning or imaging. So even though its larger than most drives the 2.5 inch SATA legacy form factor is the perfect size for storing in a safe location. I will buy again in the future as it has a small enough form factor. Sure its not waterproof like other rugged drives but its good for backups, if you can wait a bit longer to copy. SATA is a more rugged versatile hardware configuration in my opinion but its slower but more versatile and durable and is not prone to damage like NVME. So Silicon Power is one of the best drives made in Taiwan, I do recommend it for backups. ... show more

  • Hard Quality, GREAT VALUE, Buy This!
Size: 2TB Style: Black (Pro edition)
First Off: I've never seen an external drive at this price in a Metal, All-Aluminum Casing. They are always plastic, sometimes cheap brittle plastic. This one is hard quality and it is NICE (even nice to look at). I wish they'd offer this case separately, as a SATA SSD Enclosure, I buy a box full. Heat Dissipation is excellent and performance is as claimed. No, this does not have the fastest read / write specs, if you're looking for blazing speeds or gaming, spend a hundred dollars more & buy something else. For routine file backup though, it's fast enough. Crystal Disk test showed it to be slightly above the stated speeds. I'm using this for non-critical, routine backup of video and music files, the 2TB version was less than 90 bucks WOW. After my experience with this, I bought a second one, this time the 4TB version. For what you pay and what you get, this drive and deal is Outstanding! ... ... show more

  • Pretty Damn Good Gaming And Storage Device
Size: 4TB Style: Black (Pro edition)
Originally i was going to buy a M.2 SSD around the same price range, But the location in which my 2nd slot was at was directly under the graphics card in my machine. Didnt really feel like going thru the hassle of unmounting the graphics card just to get to it at the moment, Especially since i dont have the tools at the moment. So i decided to look for external SSD and came across this one. i was skeptical at first but decided to give it at shot, And just wow. This little thing is a beast, Regardless if you're using it for storage, Transferring files, And even gaming on it. I didnt think it could handle games as well as it could. Handles them just as well, If not better than my pre-installed internal M.2 SSD inside my rig. Can confirm after nearly 2 weeks of messing with it that it runs the latest titles amazingly well on Windows Pc. The likes of games such as Diablo 4, The latest Call Of Duty, Cyberpunk, Mortal Kombat 1, Street Fighter 6, Warframe, Vampire Bloodhunt, Naraka Bladepoint, and even Tekken 8. Which ALL of these games i listed REQUIRE a SSD to run efficiently on PC. Which is why i needed it, Because my little 1TB M.2 SSD and even two 2TB HDD's weren't cutting it, Lol. I will say that this drive comes included with two really small cords. a type C to type C cable, And a type C to Type A cable. If you are planning on using this on a PC or laptop, DO NOT connect it via Type C to Type A if you intend to use it for gaming. Connect it with the Type C to Type C cable, Assuming that you have a Type C port on your computer. You will get the full speeds on it that way. Also, The drive DOES NOT have writing cache enabled by default. Which is why i gave it 4 stars. Not everyone will know what that is, Or how to access it. So you will want to enable that right away. Here's the directory for that on a windows computer... Disk Management > Right-click the drive (SP B75 Pro) and select properties > Click "Hardware" Tab Above > Click "Properties" inside hardware > Click "Policies" Tab above > check box for "Enable Write Caching On The Device" > Click "OK" and close out everything. If you do the following, You will fully unlock the drive on your Pc. I am very satisfied with my purchase. I will still eventually get a 4TB M.2 SSD for my machine, And then use this drive for my gaming laptop. Until then, It will definitely hold me for a while. i have not tried this drive on my consoles, But i can definitely speak for WINDOWS Pc. If you have an available Type-C Port, And you need a good SSD to run your games on, GET THIS. You wont be disappointed. ... show more

  • SP Bolt B75 Pro: Value for money without compromising the quality.
Size: 2TB Style: Black (Pro edition)
SP Bolt B75 Pro I bought this in October 2022, but decided not to write a review until I have used it for sometime and now is the right time to do the needful. Shipping was extremely fast and the drive arrived in a couple of days to my address in Covin. Packaging was intact and undamaged. The drive itself was packed in a clear plastic enclosure which contained the USB cables and the instructions manual. This was in turn packed in a cardboard box making the packaging attractive and safe. The size of the device is somewhat akin to a smart phone, slightly shorter in length, but wider and thicker than my “Galaxy S23 Ultra” cell phone. It weighed less than the phone and could be carried in my trouser pocket without any issue. The casing is metal, probably aluminum and is slate black in colour and the build quality is surprisingly good and does not look cheap or fragile. There were two USB cables, one type-C to type-C and the other type-C to USB. These are also of very good quality and fits snuggly into the corresponding ports in the drive as well as the computer. The capacity is as suggested (2TB in my case) and the data transfer rates are quick. I used mine to store music and movies and in the six months of usage did not have any issues such as data loss or getting stuck. All in all I can say that this drive is of very good quality and can be considered akin to more expensive and well known brands although very reasonably priced.
