  • Upgraded my HP i5 Laptop Model 15-bs015dx from 512g 2.5" hard drive to 1tb SATA SSD 👍🙂
Capacity: 1TB Style: 2280 M.2 SATA
Used this to upgrade my HP touchscreen laptop from a 512g 2.5" hard drive to a 1tb SSD. I removed the old drive and just left the bracket in place in case I ever want to upgrade to more space. Also, removing the old metal hard drive reduced weight and power drain by leaving a spinning hard drive in place. So far the device is working perfectly. I upgraded to the Chrome FLEX OS and the machine is very responsive and useful especially if you use the google workspace suite (gmail, gdrive, google docs etc.). Drive is roomy and fast! Pictures show the drive in situ in the laptop after installation of new SSD and removal of the old drive. TIP: I suggest you leave the old hard drive bracket in place and just tape the screws to the bracket before you close up the laptop. This way, if you ever need to add a 2.5" drive back in, you have all the parts to do so. 👍🙂 ... show more

  • Seems to be very good value, more trouble to find what would work than to install.
Capacity: 1TB Style: 2280 M.2 SATA
Silicon Power M.2 2280 SATA 1TB SSD. Installed in Dell Inspiron 3470 Small Form Factor Desktop built in 2019. Biggest issue was determining what SSD card to get. NVMe will not work in this machine, and most offerings for a 1TB card are NVMe, so I settled on the SP brand. I needed to match the existing 1TB HDD to be able to clone without partitioning, then use the SSD as a Boot Drive and the HDD as a backup drive. Within 2 hours after UPS delivered it, I was up and running without any problems. I used Macrium Reflect 7 (Home Edition that I purchased during the Black Friday sale) to clone the SSD from the HDD, about 30 minutes. Watched a YouTube video for instructions to change the designation from E to C drive and rebooted and everything worked as hoped and wow, what a difference. Downloaded DiskMark 64 to test the read/write speed and got the following results. HDD Read (MB/s) 184.76 Write (MB/s) 171.61 (Top line results) SSD Read (MB/s) 552.85 Write (MB/s) 439.23 (Top line results) This is my 3rd upgrade from HDD to SSD as boot and retaining HDD as backup. One Windows HDD to 2.5 inch SSD, one Apple MacBook Pro from HDD to SSD (replaced HDD) and this one. All are well worth the effort and expense. All my parts are from Amazon, no issues just ordered the mounts with the 2.5 inch and didn't need anything for the M.2 slot. Since I wanted to retain the old HDD, I didn't have the option to just add a 2.5 inch SSD because the drive bay was not big enough to mount a SSD and HDD. I did not rate the Longevity because only time will tell. Since I kept the old HDD as a backup and will schedule monthly backups, failure will not be fatal. ... show more

  • Works Well with My Old PC
Capacity: 256GB Style: 2280 M.2 SATA
The Silicon Power 256GB A55 M.2 SSD was easy to install and worked perfectly with my older PC. Performance is good so far, and it’s a huge upgrade over my previous drive in terms of speed. I can’t comment on durability yet, but I’m hoping it lasts for the long haul. For the price, it’s a solid option for breathing new life into an aging system. So far, so good! ... show more

  • Sadly dead on arrival.
Capacity: 1TB Style: 2280 M.2 SATA
This SSD had no partitions and had zero space on it. Unable to use the partition software to create a partition. It just gave an error. I tried this on several systems with different operating systems, all with the same result. While it fit the appropriate slot and installation was quite easy, it was worthless. It has zero storage capacity as it was dead on arrival. I understand that sometimes things like an SSD or a memory stick can be faulty, but after reading the reviews again, I see a lot of people have issues with this drive failing after a fairly short time. After seeing that, I decided to get a refund and return the item instead of the usual replacement. ... show more
