I have purchased a few items from Ashley's and they always seem to be part of my life for awhile. This table is pretty, distressed wood has nail holes and areas that show wear. If you don't want thar, then don't buy distressed wood. It is sturdy and our family is hard on furniture. All I do is wipe it off with water and it's good to go. Just love the look and longevity and personality this brings to my home. Just a beautiful table. Table is lovely and sturdy and goes with the look we are wanting for our home, rustic farm type. My issue was with delivery. This was not shipped by Amazon, but rather by NSD who then contracted it out to Blue Streak out of Jacksonville Florida. It was supposed to arrive on the 14th of December, driver called and we scheduled delivery. Well, they show up only to realize they forgot the table at the warehouse. I was told that it would be delivered on the 15th, a Thursday. Well, thursday came and no phone call, no delivery. Well I called NSD directly and they could not give me a reason why my package wasn't delivered. After many phone calls and voicemails over the next couple of days, the 16th, the 17th, the 18th and the 19th, they finally tell me they can have it delivered on the 21st. Well, the package arrived, outside package was damaged to the point I was able to see the damaged table. Now, I know it's not Amazons fault, but rather how the package was handled. I plan on use wood putty and some stain to repair the damage. With the amount of headaches I had dealing with shipping, I dont want to risk trying to return it. ... show more

I wanna start by saying I ordered this table FOUR times within the year bc I adored it so much. The first three times it got damaged during delivery and reading the comments I understood why. It looks good and it’s real but it’s just too hallow to be considered for the long term. The corner chipped the first week I got it after tripping while cleaning. So I kinda see how a little slack or carelessness from delivery people can lead to irreparable damage. For the price though, it’s really really good looking (very rustic) and I can see my family using this table to gather for our special meals and game nights for at least another 5-7 years. This is a good option for families with small children and pets who act like you don’t feed them and feel the need to beg while laying on your toes. I got the whole Sommerford set as advertised and it enhanced the look and feeling in the dining area. ... show more

This table is amazing! Highly recommend! No wonder it's the "table of the year." It's so versatile and looks so good in virtually any space. It's roomy without overcrowding the room that it's in. Beautiful table and perfect for our space. I did expect it to be heavier since the description says solid wood with veneer. I think it is more veneer than solid though. Either way I am very pleased with the table and the price was great!

I hate fake wood furniture and veneers. Wood should be wood and most everything you find today is fake. This table is real wood and is solid. Also a great deal for the price if you’ve looked at real wood dining tables, you know what I’m talking about. It’s a bit rustic but not over the top.
