It's a bit longer than I expected, which is a plus! It took me awhile to properly suction it to me tiled shower wall but once it was on, it was on! It's important that both ends can suction on a completely flat surface or else it will not grip all the way. I was afraid of breaking it when pushing it down all the way but it's just how it is. Takes some force to lock it in. Would love to buy one that has a bar that is twice as long.

My wife and I are getting older and finding it a little harder to step into the tub for a shower. So, we decided we wanted to add some safety bars before something happened. We also wanted to install the bars into an existing bathtub tile wrap around with as little damage as possible. Our bathroom tile has a low ripple on the surface but the glaze itself is very smooth and polished. The tiles at 9 3/4" x 15 1/2" have plenty of room for the suction cups. So, we decided to try these suction cup safety bars. We choose these as they were a little longer than many other types available. We felt this made it easier to grab, especially in an emergency. And the longer length also made in more reachable from various angles and distances than a shorter grip. We also liked that this device had a vacuum confirmation indicator. I've had many smaller vacuum attachment hooks and devices come loose or weaken in the past. So, for me to be able to check the strength of the bars attachment before I grabbed it was an important feature. Installation was simple but does take both arm and especially finger strength. I placed the bar in the location I wanted and worked on one suction cup at a time. Note: There is a vacuum release tab on each rubber suction cup for when you want to take the bar down. So, try to keep this in a noticeable position when choosing how to mount the bar. I pushed hard on the suction cup to flatten it out on the tile and drive out the trapped air. Then while holding this position, I pushed down on the suction lever to lock the cup in that position. Repeat this action on the other end. You will notice the GREEN suction indicators on the bar if you did it right. The bar grips my wall like it was bolted to the studs. I can pull on this bar with both hands. Absolutely no wiggle or movement. The green indicators tell me the vacuum has not leaked or weakened. Great. We really like the bar and now that we see how well it works will buy a second one. One for the long side and one for the short end. This will work for us as well as any guests who use this tub/shower. This is a nice safety feature that took literally minutes to install. We would definitely recommend it. But be sure you have a smooth flat surface to stick to.

I’m very impressed with this safety bar for the bathroom. The quality is exceptional and it is super sturdy and durable. It’s easy to install and works just as well. If not better than safety bars I’ve used in the past. The suction is incredibly strong and does a phenomenal job of providing adequate support for safety. The price tag is affordable making this a great value for the money. Highly recommend!

This is a hard one to rate. The only reason I gave it 3 stars, I did find one place in my shower where it will stay attached. Right out of the box it seemed like a good deal. It's really nice looking and matches my 'gray' bathroom. I like the fact it has red/green indicators so you can tell how much suction it has. I cleaned the tile and attached the grab bar. It stayed in place for 2 days then fell off. I put it back on and in about 20 minutes, I heard it fall off. Remounted it in a different position and within 20 to 25 minutes, it would fall off. After a half dozen attempts or so, I gave up. A few days later I gave it another try. I put it back in the original place I tried it. It's been there for 2 days and the indicators are still green. With the failure to stay up rate, I don't trust it. This will be used as a place to hang the floor matt on, if it will stay up. I don't recommend this item. The other style grab bar in the picture works a lot better. I also have a review on that one. Look for it.

The LORESJOY Shower Grab Bars for Seniors seems sturdy and has helpful features. The grab bar must be placed on a clean flat surface and locked on. The indicators on each end lets you know with a green indicator that the bar is correctly installed. The only issue that I had with it is that it is hard to install if you do not have a very flat surface. It would not stay mounted on my semi smooth tile at all. I tried it on another shower and it was really hard to position in a place that there were no grout lines as this will also not allow the bar to stay. If you have a smooth surface with large tiles/minimal grout lines this will work fine.
