    • It's an alarm clock, it does the job as intended.

I bought a previous model of a SHARP alarm clock at Walmart for $6 about twelve or so years ago and it finally died on me recently, which led me to purchasing this one because the model lasted so long so it's become a trusted brand for me. Upon comparing the two, I noticed one immediate distinction: the newer one feels noticeably lighter and built cheaper. So, the quality of this new one is definitely not as I had expected it to be. The digital screen is also noticeably brighter than the older one, so it's cause for some strain on the eyes if you're in a darker room. However, it's done the job and I really like that it has two alarm sets so that way you don't have to keep adjusting the alarm when you can have two separate alarm times to set it at. That's a good upgrade from the older one. It's also nice to see that it's using AA batteries as back up instead of the 9V ones the older ones required. All-in-all, I'm not thrilled that it's not the same as my old one, but I'm happy that it continues to do the job it's intended for and I need to accept that the times have changed. Overall this is a decent clock. We bought 2 to replace clocks that had been used more than 20 years and the buttons were beginning to wear out. The primary appeal of this clock for me is the dual alarm. My wake up time alters 1 hour earlier, 1 hour later all week, and it is somewhat of a pain to have to reset the alarm every night. With this clock I can just switch between Alarm 1 and Alarm 2 without having to scroll through 23 hours to reset! I don't have any issue with the brightness or size of the clock, but there is something odd about the angle of the clock depending on where you are viewing it from. It is almost like it is angled slightly down. It isn't an issue when looking at it straight on while laying in bed, but from across the room, it sometimes look a little distorted. Not really an issue, but a little odd. The alarm on/off button and the dual alarm selection switches also feel a little clunky. They don't glide smoothly. It's not a deal breaker, but makes the clock feel like it is poor quality. Overall, I'm satisfied, just wish it functioned a little smoother. ... show more

I bought this for my son because he has a lot of trouble waking up using his phones alarm. My plan is to put it across the room so he has to get up to turn it off. Unlike his iPhone alarm, if you don’t turn it off, it gets louder so he can’t just sleep through it. The design is nothing fancy, but for the price I wasn’t expecting fancy. ... show more
