WOW! This vacuum is so powerful it could suck a bowling ball through a garden hose! I kid you not! I couldn't be happier with this this vacuum. I've been struggling with my old Hoover pet edition and a shop vac to pick up the dust and scattered food left by my feathered dust bombs (A.K.A. BIRDS) and my carpets never felt or looked clean despite the effort. I was considering a Dyson, but had trouble justifying spending upwards of $600 on a vacuum cleaner. I did exhaustive research prior to making my purchase and it came down to a choice between this or the Duo Clean for the large bird pellets that are routinely strewn on my carpet. And did I mention dust? OMG!!! I read many reviews both good and bad and agonized over this purchase because I knew whatever choice I made I was going to have to live with it for a very long time. Some reviewers complained about weight and maneuverability. I too have physical issues associated with age and injuries so I took that into consideration and nearly cancelled my order in favor of the Rocket Duo Clean. I am so glad I didn't. The Shark Rotator True Pet NV650/750 is the best vacuum I have ever owned. I was delighted that it was not nearly as heavy as anticipated and lighter than my old off-the-shelf Hoover. It literally drives itself, albeit a slight tendency to steer to the left, but nothing that can't easily be overcome. Cleaning power? I was expecting it to leave some some pellets behind like all vacuums do. It didn't, it got 100% of all the large pellets on my floor and under the cage. No snowplowing whatsoever. I was almost afraid to write a such a glowing review after only 1 day for fear of jinxing myself. I saw many bad reviews stating the motor quits after 4 months. Time will tell. I went over my apartment 3 times today and couldn't believe how much dirt and dust was picked up each time. Like my home was never vacuumed before. I vacuum twice a week using 2 vacuums. At least I used to. The one will do! It picked up cat litter from my carpet and I haven't had a cat in over a year. I was amazed at how much litter was hiding in my low pile carpet. Honestly, I was shocked! My floors look, feel and smell clean for the first time in a long time.I've never spent more than $200 on a vacuum cleaner before so this was a stretch for me. Trust me, it's worth it. Saved me hours of back breaking labor with a poor end result.I was even considering the refurbished models for a more comfortable price point, but I figured that I only buy a vacuum every decade or so I splurged. I regret having also bought another shop vac only a week prior because I no longer need 2 vacuum cleaner to pick up large debris in hard to reach areas.. This vacuum does it all. The suction is so powerful that it puts my shop vac to shame. The motorized True Pet attachment gets into tight spaces and gobbles up anything my birds can throw at it. So far I think this vacuum is the eight wonder or the world. Deep cleaning power is off the charts and it turned a domestically challenged person into a domestic goddess! Love using it so much I found things to clean that my other vacuums were incapable of handling. I vacuumed 3 times today! The cord made it from one end of my apartment to the other without having to plug and unplug. I would have liked a little longer hose though. That is the only improvement I could think of because I have tipped it a couple of times today. I just have to remember to remove the canister and problem solved. Almost forgot to mention how quiet it is. So quiet I can vacuum after 10pm without disturbing my downstairs neighbors, So far, I don't have any cons. I like to ramble. For those of you that want to know the bottom line, I always write a summary paragraph at the end of my reviews. Feel free to skip ahead. The weekend before Thanksgiving, I put up Christmas decorations. I know that's a big no-no, but in my defense, I was hosting the Christmas family get together the day after thanksgiving and work full time so I had to set up before Thanksgiving this year. Anyway, once I got out the tree, tinsel, and all of the decorations covered in glitter, my floor was a mess and I was ready to vacuum. I pulled out my trusted dyson animal that I have cherished since the day my parents bought it for me for Christmas 5 years ago with a price tag of like $500-$600, if my memory serves me correctly. I plugged it in and pressed the power button. Nothing. Remember, I'm hosting family later in the week and work full time. I don't have time to deal with a non working vacuum. I jumped online to buy a new one. My dad just happened to text me before I finished ordering a new one. We were chatting. I told him my issue. He sent me what he had just read on consumer reports about the best vacuum and another comparison about why the dyson is overrated. I was shocked. I love my dyson. I've bragged about how awesome this dyson is to anyone that will listen. How could consumer reports say that? So I did what any reasonable person would do. I jumped on Amazon to read reviews. I was shocked! This vacuum had the best reviews. It was cheaper than the dyson and seemed to have tons of features that I might like. I felt guilty considering switching teams. I had been so loyal to dyson and now I was debating a shark. I spent all day thinking about it. I was down to the final minutes of having to order to receive it before Thanksgiving. I finally decided the Amazon community has never sent me in the wrong direction so I bought the shark. I've had it for 3 days now. This vacuum is ridiculous! Things I love... I love being able to remove the canister allowing me to vacuum under the furniture. This is an absolutely brilliant feature! The front of the vacuum is much flatter than my dyson was. It allows me to vacuum completely under the baby gates without having to use hand tools. It's stupid that I've ever had to waste a second of my life getting out a hand tool to vacuum under these gates. I cannot tell you how much I love this! These lights on this shark are so neat. When reading the reviews of people talking about them i couldn't understand why this was such a big deal. It's one of those things you don't know you need until you have it. Not only are the lights on the front of the unit, they're also on the wand when you use the hand tools. Because of these lights, you will find dust you couldn't see with your old vacuum. It's incredible. The suction is fantastic. I'm going to use it on the highest carpet setting because I did notice that it is lifting my carpet at the seams. I'm assuming that's because I had it on the middle setting. Today, a red light lit up telling me that the brushes needed cleaning. I'm going to appreciate that feature. The hand tools all work great. I find the fine duster is kind of hard to adjust but it does work well when you get it in place. The pet tool cleaned the dog bed in a matter of minutes. I was very impressed with how well it worked and how easy it was to use. The hard floor tool does great for under cabinets, tables and chairs. When you turn it on, it kind of jumps forward. It helps you get across the carpet with ease. I didn't understand the purpose of the swivel head, but now that I've used it, I love it! It helps you get in corners and up closer to the wall much easier. Not so great stuff... For some reason this seems heavier than my dyson. I finally picked one up in each arm and they feel like they weigh about the same but the shark carries it in a different way which makes it seem heavier. It's hard to explain but it seems heavier. I'm not a huge fan of its appearance. To me, it looks like an older style vacuum. Compared to the dyson, when you step on the head of this to begin vacuuming, it seems fragile. I never once thought I was going to break the dyson, but I'm very worried about this shark. This is my biggest issue and concern with this vacuum. The cord for the wand needs to be longer. I keep knocking the body over because the cord is so short. Bottom line, I'm happy I bought this as my replacement vacuum. Overall, I think the dyson is a better looking vacuum and easier to use. However, for the price and the features the shark offers, I think this will be a superior vacuum. Trust me, I will update this review if my opinion changes. ... show more

This sweeper is terrific! I had an issue that I contacted the company with and they gladly sent me a new piece for it.... which I truly appreciated their generosity and promptness. 2 things stand out to me above most other vacuums are: 1) the lights are not only on the floor part but also when you use an attachment to reach in between chairs or up high, etc., the light on the pole shines onto whatever you are cleaning! That is a HUGE help! I didn't realize how helpful lights are and how much dust, etc. are on a wood floor! 2) The attachment for cat hair/dander is fantastic! It is the strongest attachment possible... almost afraid it will pull off the material from pillows! but it cleans thoroughly!. This Shark makes it easier to use the hose and take it away from the base. Extremely easy on this model. Another really nice feature is with just moving a lever on the handle, it switches from wood floor mode to high carpet! I was worried that it didn't state it was self-propelling like my last Shark, but it's so easy on high pile carpet that it seems self-propelling even if not. That was a feature I loved about my other Shark. The suction on this is also terrific. It's a bit heavier than my last Shark, but it isn't enough to bother me at all, and running the sweeper is typically hard on my back but as vacuums go--- this is the best I've had!
