    • Exactly what I wanted
Years ago, a friend convinced me I needed to get a steamer mop. At the time, there were lots of different models available, and I decided to go with the Shark Professional Steam Pocket Mop. It probably wasn't the most expensive model, but it was also NOT the cheapest, bottom-tier variety. Overall, it performed really well--the body of the mop is solidly constructed, the cord is long enough, the water reservoir is appropriately sized and fairly easy to fill, and the three settings allow you to choose how much steam you need, based on what type of flooring you are cleaning (and how heavy duty the job!) The mop pad has a fine-textured microfiber on one side, and is more heavily textured on the other. My *only* criticism was that I sort of wished the mop came with more than one pad. (ie--I never really liked mopping my kitchen and my bathroom with the same mop pad--which might technically be silly (since the whole point of a steam mop is that it can sanitize the floor), but sometimes there is a subjective element to cleanliness. Also--I found that you could *buy* a second mop pad separately, but they were a little expensive for what they were, IMO.) Fast forward to the present--I moved across the country and accidently left my trusty steamer mop behind. Shark is a pretty big brand, so I thought I would have no trouble finding a new one at Walmart or any other big box store. WRONG. Apparently steam mops are no longer a thing? Instead, all I could find was one VERY cheap-looking model (think of a Swiffer with a cord) and a whole NEW array of weird hybrid vacuum mops. I was not impressed. Thankfully--a quick search on Amazon led me to a "Refurbished" version of what I had before. It's the exact same product, (except the mop pad is a slightly different material) and it *appeared* to be like new condition in a brand new box. (I even had to assemble it from 3 pieces.)     • A Tried and True Method with no Dirty Water to Dump Out
This seriously cleans my laminate floor on SCRUB mode (with annoying and dirty divets.) It cleans my hardwood floors on DUST mode (a gentle mode that didn’t leave the hardwood wet but picked up a lot of accumulated dirt). This is a nicely constructed machine. You can turn it off while it’s plugged in by clicking through 4 modes: dust, mop, scour and off. I’ve tried multiple mopping machines to clean the divets that accumulate dirt in this kitchen floor. I have returned to this one. Robot mops are too gentle, traditional mopping also too gentle, hand scrubbing didn’t work without chemicals and a scrubbing mop machine broke too soon compared to the investment (also I don’t like emptying the dirty water compartment afterwards). This steam mop cleans beautifully, drying almost instantly. Its attacks on the dirty divets are strong, though some divet dirt remains. The pads that come with it are great at absorbing dirt. I bought knock off pads too and they do work but don’t compare to the name brand. Enjoy your next cleaning day! ... show more

Although it was a used unit that I purchased (I did not realize that) The condition was not really what you would expect. After contacting the company I am changing my review as it is definitely a company you can trust. THIS SHARK WORKS GREAT. I cleaned all the scuff marks off of it and got some new pads - it works so so so much better than the Bissel I had. I did contact the company and they immediately responded to me, they offered two options (both were fair, honest and GREAT). I took the courtesy credit and was allowed to keep the unit. This is a really good company I have great respect for them. This was partially my fault for not paying closer attention, and they stood behind their product.
