  • Great little vacuum
Style: Navigator Powered Lift-Away (Teal)
Great light to medium weight Vacuum for the price. It’s not “lightweight” per se but it’s also definitely not heavy. I live in a half carpeted apartment, probably around 300 square feet of carpet surface and my carpet type is short and over 5 years old. For my use case, this vacuum has been doing an awesome job for over 2 years now. The suction is great. It is a little awkward to get used to its maneuverability but once you get the hang of it, you’ll realize you can twist and turn into every little corner. Picks up cat fur really well, in addition to cat litter (they track it past the wood floors sometimes). The removable handle is a little awkward but does the job. Overall really nice to have around without spending $400+ on a vacuum. ... show more

  • This thing sucks!
Style: Navigator Powered Lift-Away (Teal)
I’d been making do with a cheap $50 vacuum for a couple years now. But I went from just a small dog, to a small dog, and two very fluffy cats. On top of that I have two children and a husband. We moved to a bigger place with a lot more ground to cover. I was tired of our cheap vacuum getting clogged up with hair and rotor not working right. I took the plunge on this one because it was on sale. My long hair does still get wrapped around the rotor but not too bad and super manageable. I vacuumed my living room and couldn’t BELIEVE how much it picked up. I was both impressed and disgusted. It is a little on the heavy side but hey- a clean house and a work out at the same time? Idk silver linings or whatever. Buy it. It’s fantastic! ... show more

  • Great Vacuum, Happy With Purchase
Style: Navigator Powered Lift-Away (Teal)
After about a year of putting up with my old, dying vacuum, I finally decided to bite the bullet and get a new one. Did some research online and asked around to see what the people I know/trusted used/liked/didn't like - specifically looking for a vacuum which was effective on both carpet and hard flooring and was good for use with pets - and landed on the Shark Navigator. While the swivel was definitely something I had to get used to (never having had one like this before) and it is a bit heavy - though I am petite, so I wasn't exactly surprised, I think most vacuums would be for me - this vacuum has proven to be a huge improvement from my previous one. While it's just me and my cat in my apartment, we both shed like crazy and she loves to absolutely obliterate her cardboard scratchers, getting little bits of cardboard everywhere. Plus, while I've been able to control it to a degree, there's no getting around at least some litter tracking throughout my apartment. I often struggled with vacuuming everything up before, this vacuum picks everything up without issue on the first pass. I also used the upholstery attachment for the first time on my couch, and was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked! The part I'm happiest about is how well it picks up litter. I've been able to minimize most of my cat's litter tracking with a litter mat, but it's inevitable some will end up outside the box. I had a lot of issues with my previous vacuum picking up all the litter effectively, but upgrading has definitely made this issue disappear. Having a switch for going from carpet to hard flooring, I also don't have to worry about litter flying everywhere when vacuuming around her box, which is great. The "self-cleaning" brushroll seemed gimmicky to me to begin with so I didn't expect much - unsurprisingly, hair was wrapped around the brushroll after the first use. I guess there may be less than a standard brushroll, but it wasn't a huge selling point to me anyway. As someone who just has a lot of long hair, it's to be expected. The capacity seems fine to me, though emptying isn't exactly "hands-free" - though, like with the previous note, it could just be because of all the hair that's picked up. It doesn't make it particularly difficult to empty, but I have had to pull out the debris when emptying the vacuum. I'm not really all that bothered by it, I just wash my hands after emptying, but I get it could skeeve out some. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase - way more pros than cons and it's exactly what I needed. I did buy this vacuum on sale, and I don't really know if I'd purchase it at full price - but I think that's more because of where I'm at financially than anything to do with the vacuum itself. ... show more

  • Great power
Style: Navigator Powered Lift-Away (Teal)
This Shark Vacuum is amazing when it comes to suction power. Thus the reason I kept it instead of returning it. For my preference, I have two complaints. 1) The cord is shorter than I like. 2) It needs a power train to help drive the vacuum over carpet. It's suction is so good - even when set on "Hard Floor" and the vent open all the way - it is difficult to push / pull on carpet with pile. It's even a workout on my no pile carpet. My former vacuum had a drive and I guess I'm spoiled to it. But it is hard on my back to vacuum with this vacuum cleaner. The lift-away canister is easy to use and does a great job. A brush attachment, which this one does not have, would be nice for cleaning blinds and such. The self cleaning roller does well with cleaning hair from the roller; however, it does get string wrapped around it. I give 4 stars instead of 5 since some improvement can be made. But overall this is a great vacuum. ... show more

  • Great suction, easy to use, very satisfied with purchase.
Style: Navigator Powered Lift-Away (Teal)
I purchased the Lift-Away with Self-Cleaning Brushroll Pet Upright Vacuum. I've had it for two and a half weeks. After reading reviews before I purchased, I was concerned about the weight, as my previous vacuum was a very lightweight Oreck, and I have torn shoulder tendons. But I chose it due to human and pet hair in my carpet, and always having to pull it out of brushes on my previous vacuum. Also, the Oreck did not pick up the hair very well. So far, I love this vacuum. It definitely cleans the hair out of my carpet and I've not had a problem with it in the brushroll. I can run my fingers through the carpet and no hair; not true with my older vacuum. The suction is great, and I use it on the floor and on a short shag carpet. The weight of the vacuum has not bothered me at all, which surprised me. The swivel steering has worked out great. I did have to get used to it on the first use, but then I got the hang of it without any problems. I am concerned about the plastic lasting for the most part, but it would also be a heavy tank if it wasn't plastic. But it seems most vacuums are made that way, and it keeps the price down if replacement is needed. I am happy I purchased this vacuum, and hope it lives up to my high rating. ... show more

  • Don't think, just click add to cart and check out!
Style: Navigator Powered Lift-Away (Teal)
I bought this vacuum on sale for prime days 2023. It was just delivered today 7/16. This is the 2nd shark I've purchased. The other was bought 2 years ago and promptly returned as it did not work well at all. So I was very hesitant to try again. But I have no regrets! I did spend several weeks reading up on other models. I compared the navigator to the rotator and all that. Even after weeks of thinking I could mot decide which to get because they all had great reviews and were attractive looking. Now, I cannot believe I paid so much for a vacuum without a retractable cord but I also can't believe that I waited so long! SHARK very clearly focused their energy on function vs fancy features and I'm not mad about it! My carpet is 3 years old. I am 1 person without children. I do have 2 cats and occasionally dog sit for family. I also live in AZ where it is very dusty. I do occasionally wear shoes in the house but very infrequently And my shoes are never very dirty. I don't keep windows open much bc of all the dirt and dust. I vacuum 1 to 2x a week with a Bissell that I have had for around 6 years. My carpet has been matted down in areas of heavy traffic despite it just being me living and walking here. Vacuuming has never made any difference in the matting. I got this vacuum today and immediately put it together and vacuumed the living room. I am stunned, horrified, FLABBERGASTED, and almost embarrassed. Please note I vacuumed on Monday this week. Today is Sunday. My robot vacuum went around the whole living room 3 hours before I used the shark. The robots cannister was not even a quarter full. I have attached photos showing how much yuck the shark pulled out of my carpet. I can't believe my eyes. I also attached a photo showing an area that was matted before and after vacuuming. The cannister on this shark seems to be pretty large capacity compared to my Bissell. It is not overly noisy. The handle is comfortable. It was very simple to put together. Took all of maybe 2 minutes by myself. The swivel steering does take some getting used to, kind of like learning reversing with a trailer on your vehicle. I have not tried any of the accessories yet so I can't say how well they work. But I would buy this again and again. I recently had a spinal fusion and spend most of my time in a great deal of pain. Using this vacuum did not cause any additional pain to my neck or back. My legs and arms burned afterwards bc it was difficult to push but I believe that's because of the amazing amount of suction this thing has! Long story short. Buy it. You won't regret it. Stretch before you vacuum. Pros: -amazing suction/ function -deep cleaning -easy to put together -attractive design -large dirt capacity. Cons: - cord is not retracted - swivel steering takes some getting used to - the very strong suction seems to me the vacuum slightly difficult to push. As far as the features I'm asked to rate, I do not have stairs so I can't say how it would do with stairs. But I can't imagine it would be anything less than great. I also have not tried the lift away feature. ... show more

  • Hard to navigate, heavy to push. Not user-friendly IMO.
Style: Navigator Powered Lift-Away (Teal)
It sucks. Since that's what it is supposed to do I gave it 3 stars. The suction is very strong. You can adjust it if its too strong to move which on full power it was in my plush carpet. But most vaccums have a level adjustment to co trol the suction this one has a dial to spin on the hanndle. If there are indicators (hi, low, etc) I don't see them. I prefer the old way. Plush low pile 123 vs randomly spin and hope. So now once the suction is adjusted and it will move across the carpet the drivabikity comes into play. The head swivels so much it fights for control, lurches in a drunken manner as you try to simply move it straight across the floor. Idk how to otherwise describe it. As it is already a heavy vacuum this added friction from its wobbly push adds to make it quite difficult to maneuver and extra heavy as the head wont just go straight you have to fight it to go the direction you want. My last shark performwd better but was heavy and awkward as it couldnt stand on its own. With the motor in the handle you had to lay it down any time you needed both hands to move furniture or change the plug. Changing the front filter is also tricky where the old Shark filter changes were quick and easy. It seems Shark solved that top-heavy problem but created several new problems. I am disappointed. I spent just under 200 for this. Would not buy again. ... show more

  • Great HEPA filter, no odor, super suction power!
Style: Navigator Powered Lift-Away (Teal)
Nice vacuum with super suction power! I used one similar to this at a friend’s and theirs was a bit more lightweight. This one is pretty hefty and heavier than I thought but I have a much bigger place and thick carpeting so I’m glad I chose this one. The only issue is that the swivel cannot be locked so it will take a bit for my wrist and coordination to get used to. My wrist feels tired and a bit sore but I do have arthritis. I would recommend a lighter weight one for those who have weakness or pain. I figured out the lower suction setting for the carpet which helped a lot! It’s fun to see the dirt it picked up in such a short run! There was absolutely no dusty, musty odor during use, which was a very pleasant surprise, which means it has a superior HEPA filter! Look forward to trying the detachable canister to vacuum the stairs. Got a great deal on it too! Overall happy on the first try! ... show more
