    • This may be my last vacuum
I don't write many reviews, but because I read them faithfully and make decisions based on them, decided some products deserve one. I bought this Shark over a year ago, so feel as though I've given it a good workout. I have owned everything from Sears to Electrolux to Hoover and none of them are as good as this one. It's lightweight, powerful and easy to use. It's super convenient to remove the attachments, everything snaps back in place with ease and the lift-off compartment slips off with one push of a button and makes vacuuming under the furniture a breeze. The debris container is easy to remove, too, and I like being able to keep it, along with the filters, clean. But, the best part is that it sucks up dust and dirt better than any vacuum we've owned. It works great on edges and floors as well as it does carpeting, using the power head feature. This is the second Shark we've owned. The other is at our other home. It's a good one, too, but this newer version is an improvement. The only concern I have is the on-and-off switch which feels like it may be getting lose. I highly recommend this model. ... show more

Never thought a vacuum with headlights was nessessary, I was wrong. Those little lights help show the dirt and hair that need to get picked up, very helpful. The vacuum is super modular, can be easily reconfigured for all that cleaning tasks. Fairly light weight, but feels durable. The suction works amazingly, and it's super easy to empty and clean. Im impressed, makes vacuuming a bit fun too, with how easily it turns. Can even go basically flat to get under the bed and rolling carts. ... show more

    • Great suction, a little bulky
First, the suction is great. Has a suction adjustment and we had to turn it down. Used it on a clean area run and it pulled out dust and dirt - which is great. It is a little bulky and not super easy to maneuver. The cord length is great, but I miss not having a retractable cord. I gave it four stars.     • Great and lightweight!
So great. We replaced our broken and very expensive Dyson with this vacuum and I won’t ever go back. It’s so much easier to use, is super light weight, can be converted to be a canister-style vacuum, swivels easily and vacuums flat, has lights on the front to see in dark corners, has fantastic suction, and is easy to empty and clean out. My only issue is that hair gets very easily tangled in the rotating brush. ... show more

We needed a new vacuum. I looked for the best product in Consumer Reports. Consumer Reports rated this vacuum highly. I was pleased to find a discounted and refurbished model. It has worked very well. We have not had any problems. Vacuuming the stairs is a little cumbersome, but the vacuum performs well everywhere else. I am glad we made this purchase. ... show more

I bought this after reading positive reviews on Amazon. I'm so disappointed with the Shark Navigator NV586, although the suction was good and I do like the way it comes apart into usable components. The very first issue was the combination brush/nozzle. Right out of the box the brush was stuck in the forward position and would not slide out of the way when you press the release button so that you can use the nozzle itself. After only a few uses the floor unit stopped clicking into place when you bring the handle into an upright position, so when you pick up the unit to carry it, the floor unit hangs down and makes it difficult to carry it without dragging on the floor. Three days after reaching the end of it's measly 90 day warranty, plastic pieces broke off the bottom of the floor unit and the cheap plastic bottom cracked making it unusable (see photos). Our previous vacuum was a Dyson that we used for six years before giving it to our daughter. She's still using it and our three month old Shark has completely fallen apart. ... show more

    • Efficient without the extra weight!!!
My old vacuum worked well, but it was heavy and noisy. The Sharp is a huge improvement!

    • This vacuum sucks
I bought this vacuum because it was rated the best by Consumer Reports. I had a Dyson in the past, and this vacuum performs just as well if not better, so why spend the exorbitant price for a Dyson? Hardwood, tile, your mom’s hideous orange shag love shack carpet, this vacuum cleans them all. Plus, when you have all the relatives over for Thanksgiving and everyone goes into a food coma and falls asleep, leaving you bored out of your freakin’ skull, you can use the powerful wand to suck the wig off your grandma’s head.
